It's great to see many new names here.
For Kotobukiya Zoids lovers, the future does look bright - so many new models are coming out, its making my wallet shiver...with dread!

If it comes into the retail stores here, I would definitely be getting the Shadowfox. The motorised versions' price is currently crazy bad. It should be out in August, maybe.

Earlier release is the HMM Berserk Fuhrer. It's kinda cute seeing it like this.

How is the Harry Special Dark Horn kit? How many of the hyperbeam cannon does it have?

You're right there, General_Nic.
Zoids originally came out as spring-wound or battery-powered motors around which you would add parts. A moving (sometimes growling/screaming) model kit.
The moving Zoids are TOMY and TAKARA-TOMY designed.

It is my hope that these will return to our store shelves once again but generally since they're not poseable as Kotobukiya's, some Zoids fans may not like them.
I, however, DEMAND TAKARA-TOMY to continue with the motorised versions. Bring back the OERs and OJRs and expand on them, please!

Anyway, enough ranting. Found these vids of a (repainted) Shadowfox.
Video quality is bad but it's difficult to find one of the model in action. Enjoy!

Shadowfox with cannon?

Head movement

Anyone needs another of the white "test-shot" Deathsaurer parts?
Lucky, lucky you - test-shot Deathsaurer
Be adviced that there's no motor, ok?

It is a wonder that no new Zoids games have been announced. Maybe because the marketing is concentrated on fans in Japan fans instead? I don't think Kotobukiya Zoids were even marked for international release but thanks to dealers with contacts in Japan, we can enjoy them here.

If you like detailed bits on your Zoids, Kotobukiya is the way to go.
For instance, HMM Ligers and Sabers have more (sharper) teeth than TakaraTomy's and where the HMM Sabre has individual toes, TTs are one piece.

I wasn't around when KL-ites had carnivals of cheap sales on Zoids around 2007 but the motorised Zoids (NJR period, 1998-2008) were much cheaper than Kotobukiya's when released e.g. TOMY Pteras was 600 Yen (about RM20 then?) compared to 4500 Yen for the HMM. Why? Not too sure. Maybe because plastic prices went up 300% since then.

Sorry but I can't help feeling bitter about the lack of love for motorised Zoids at TakaraTomy now. Come on with the Megatopros and Sandspeeda reissue, dang it! tongue.gif

Hey there, owika.

Kotobukiya is supposed to be reissuing the HMM EZ-016 Saber Tiger Schwalz by end of this month, May 2012. If I read correctly, some changes from the first release is the teeth and toe colours, as well as changes to the sticker sheets.
I hope you know Japanese - because I would really like to know *exactly* what the differences are?

Maybe we'll see these in KL stores next month?

A translato-guess from sir Spartan of ZP:
The reissued HMM Schwalz Tiger will have "decals instead of stickers". Waterslide? Dry transfer? I don't know how to use either of them so tough luck for me, I guess.

In other unsubstantiated, panic inducing RUMOURs - TOMYTEC is doing a new Zoids line starting (maybe) in January 2013! Anyone here knows more about what TOMYTEC produces? Can it be that motorised Zoids are coming back to "Spend-your-money-here" land?
Thanks to our ZP friends for the find, especially SyncSaix.

The above picture is of the TOMY Murasame Liger from the Genesis line.
It's missing the big, central blade but with all those extra weapons - who needs it?
I think a few members from Zoidspoison, Phenos and Zoids Philippines managed to make this so it shouldn't be too difficult. Grimm did, anyway:

You will need almost all the parts from the Genesis Power-Up Parts A, B and C to make this though. The only thing not used, I think, is Deadly Kong's arm attachment piece. They're not too difficult to get if you like playing with Yahoo! Japan.

Here are some old pictures of the Genesis Power-Up Parts in use, in case you need mor ereference pics.

Gunsniper as a Sea horse?
Kind of difficult to see the similarities but thumbs up to the builder.
It would look good as a base form though - maybe add a snout and longer, flappy tail?

Anyone here willing to kitbash and modify their STK/Momoko HMMs?
Who knows - you may just win something or two from the customisation competition that ZP is having.

TDP Neptune!
A supposedly scout version of HelDigunner, maybe?
I'm glad they kept the clear blue on this kit.

I can't remember if WAVE issued this kit. It would have been interesting to see it in clear orange - just like a distant cousin of Gul Tiger.

Poor Deathpion scout is all alone. Will you be getting Shotwalker soon to even the odds?
Thanks for sharing and spicing up the place, cryonic.

That's the 1:108 scale HMM-style Blade Liger, isn't it?
Does it come with individually articulated claws like its larger sibling?
Looks good, though. I like how they kept the "caps" white in colour. Could almost make it into a "Mk-II" version.

@cryonic:
Naughty Deathpion trooper but that's what Neptune drivers get for not attaching airhoses to their oxygen tanks!

Getting the full list of 24-scale Zoids can be pretty daunting.
Zevle's Zargam is definitely not cheap anymore but who knows, maybe Yahoo! Japan might have them for an acceptable price.
Hurry and bring one in for Malaysia, bro.

That Battlerover pilot is one stingy bugger. Doesn't he get enough oxygen in the open cockpit? Poor Zenevas always lose out.
Thanks for sharing your pics, cryonic. Really livens the place up.

@Loto:
Kotobukiya Zoids are still in production. They're even doing reissue production runs throughout this year.

I think Revoltech kinda gave up on doing Zoids, though. I have not read any Zoids news from them.

Now, if you're talking about the battery/spring motorised versions by Tomy and TakaraTomy? The last BIG production run was in 2008-2009. Even then, no Malaysian stores brought those in.

TOMYTEC Zoids are supposed to be released beginning of 2013. The speculation is it will be a return to the motorised types. No news yet on the actual designs and specification. I doubt, though, that Jusco, Parkson, etc. will be bringing them in for us Malaysians. I'm really sad about that since online shipping is a real killer.

@Haruyuki:
nu poison == new poison? I guess the Bootleg Blade Ligers can be considered as such.

On the official Zoids front, pre-production images of HMM Dibison is up.
Not sure about the release date or box image. Still too early for that since Shadowfox is still in hiding too at Kotobukiya.

So far, the only upcoming Kotobukiya releases with coloured photos are Liger Zero Panzer and Berserk Fuhrer.

Since the above are supposed to be released next month and August, respectively, I guess Shadowfox or Dibison will show up before Christmas. Time enough to keep some money for them. Now, how the *beep* do I display these Zoids?!

I'm more interested in TOMYTEC Zoids in 2013. Any news/interesting speculations from Chinese or Japanese websites?

Mmmmm - sweet and tasty.
Nestea sure is a great thirst quencher for a hot, hot event.

Oh, and the Beauty is mighty fine too. tongue.gif

Hey there, dri1.
Good to know that Zoids are still alive and kicking in the Philippines.
Anyone there able to dig up more info on the TOMYTEC Zoids? You'd be starting a collection of them too, aren't you?

@dri1: Germany? PM me if you run into any OER or Z-knights stash, okay?

Well - I, myself, have not had any new TT or HMM Zoids for some time now.
Not enough display space and kinda running out of storage area too.

I'll probably have to do a sale when TOMYTEC's plans are more concrete. Now, it's all speculations and rumours. No solid information at all since the announcement.
That's why I'm asking - I'm hoping some distributor from China/S. Korea would have had more news.

Whoah, sicnarf1830!

You were at the ToyCon? Any personal pics from the convention you'd care to share?

When's the next Malaysian Toy Convention? Anyone knows?
Not that I'm expecting Zoids there but then, you'll never know.

Those are the clear LZ and HT Ogre parts that Grimm was doing?

Parablade - I think there's still people hoarding those but how come they never advertise? Let them go, people!

@sicnarf1830:
Did you at least get to try on the Genobreaker costume? It is a cosplay item, isn't it?

Boom, boom Superbass Liger!
I can't remember exactly but I think those missiles for Panzer are individual molded pieces.
That should make it easier to paint then.

So I kept it as a pet!

STK Barad Wolf came with chrome gold parts?
That's something that Kotobukiya's kit did NOT have.

Looking good.

Any further news about TOMYTEC Zoids from the Chinese forums, people?
Factory leaks or suchlike? Oh well.

What about Ultimate Seismo or Fuzors Arosaurer? Anyone looking to let go of theirs?

@owika:
XL-Shop.com listed HMM Schneider for RM308. Should be around that range too at other places.

Also, HMM Genobreaker Raven Special is supposed to be released closer to year's end. Looks rather nice.

Madthunder is an awesome, awesome Zoids.
A heavy brick but what the hey - I just love how TOMY got the tail to swish around.
Has anyone opened up the horns' gearbox to check out the speed control mechanism?

I think I would like to customise one to make it a walking apartment complex for Zoids pilots. Too expensive and too heavy to ship though. Very sad.
