QUOTE(Jetpeh @ Aug 31 2011, 12:42 PM)
Tanks for the link, Jetpeh.
If I'm not mistaken - that's the TOMY Mugen Liger that was modified to be articulated.
I love the paint work on it. Those knives sure look nice and shiny sharp!

A few years back, a member on Phenotype's Zoids forum had metal castings of Mugen's blades.
Anyone here with the skill, know-how and facilities to do it on a small scale?

For bro Kindredd and any other interested parties

Anyone went to 2010 Toy Fair at Midvalley?
Do you remember if there was any Zoids for sale there?

I miss motorised Zoids.

Thanks to a fellow Zoider, I managed to snag the D-style Blade Liger with the free Helic stand.

Points to note:
1. This thing is really small. The Van figure is just a little bigger (wider?) than the standard Zoids pilot figures. I think it's smaller than the Kotobukiya Zoids pilots.
2. I haven't built it but painting will be required if you want ALL the cheek blade fins to have that distinctive white stripe. Out of the box, only the top "ear" fin is molded for snap-fit.
3. Unlike the HMM Zoids, there are no sprues for the "caps". They're molded onto the pieces so painting will be required if you want them to have the Grey of the motorised kit. Oh, and they're tiny too - somewhere between AA and AAA battery nipple circumference.
4. The blades don't SCHWIIING out! You'll have to detach and re-attach, according to the linkage's tab for the different profile configurations. Bummer.

So, is it worth the RM80+?
C'mon - even the 1/144 scale Gundams need some minimal painting to look good.
Cute Zoids make for an interesting diversion to their more angry bigger siblings. I only hope my hands and fingers can keep steady enough to do justice to the painting.

PS: I've uploaded the manual's scans if anyone needs it.

OT: Is it really true that playing computer games with Gamepads will help to develop steady hands and fingers articulation? Any surgeons care to confirm?

I am not looking forward to painting those little bits on the D-style Liger.
I mean, you need at least the white and light grey paint, right?
Somehow I don't think a Gundam marker will do the trick unless careful masking is done first - and I'm lazy.

It is a pity that the Detolf can't accommodate an assembled Gilvader.
The model is too dang long and wide.
Too bad construction-grade plastic roofing is not perfectly clear as those should be easy to silicon-stick together.

The Helic logo stand was with the D-style Liger if ordered from Kotobukiya directly or at their Japan store. I'd be somewhat disappointed if the XL version came with it too - I could have saved on the postage cost!

On the other hand, if what XL brought in had that stand, I just might get another Liger since Ultrasaurus wants to fly to. tongue.gif

@ahtiven:
As requested, found this MIB NJR Ultrasaurus for you.
http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-617777.html

I really don't know why it's so expensive though. Same goes with the Madthunder that was on eBay. Dangs it all!

Thankfully motorised Zoids can still be found relatively cheaper across the Causeway.

@ahtiven:
BIN via Celga? I think Mandarake sells direct to overseas actually. Just that they will send ONLY to Paypal account's address.

Hmmm, looks like I'll have to read their TnC more closely now.

The thrills and pleasures of Internet purchases - the only thing as closely satisfying is a good haul at Genting resorts. brows.gif

So, ladies and gentlemen. Now that you have a new marketplace for Zoids, start your buying and show them off here.
I want to see your Zoids, dangit!
We need more people in Malaysia to show interest in Zoids so that we can see them piling up in the departmental stores again.

* The new adventures of Batman and Robin was brought to you by the Zoidshead Society of Malaysia (ZiSM) *

Congratulations on the purchase, Sir Ahtiven. And the new big warehouse you have to store, display your Zoids as well.
But wait - I'm not sure if the Ultrasaurus is already assembled or not. Google Translates as "box assembly pain / non-Republic". What the ****?

Sorry to hear the NJR Ultrasaurus is not forthcoming, Sir Ahtiven.
No upfront payment when ordering, though, was there?
Two words - Go Singapore. ZP folks could probably help, maybe?

The D-style Ultrasaurus is going to need major ink-washing. All those tiny grooves and lines! It had better be able to wag its tail like a good doggy too.

Hey there, people.

If you haven't got your D-style Blade Ligers yet - I spotted them at Time Machine, Gamers Arena and XL Shop.
So what are you waiting for? Go get them by the bucketloads so that the shops will have more incentive to bring in D-style Zoids.

So far, no free gift was announced for the D-Style Ultrasaurus so support your local store, eh?

Good luck in your exams, eClIpSe_R3tr0.
I hope that it will go better than you ever expected.
By the time you've finished, you'll have two D-style Zoids to play with.

Zoids did not used to be very complicated in its building process.
Check out the instructions for the motorised kits. The "Difficulty" difference between Kotobukiya's and TakaraTomy's is really big. I'm really looking forward to the next worldwide release of Zoids. Rebirth Century Zoids was like, what - 3 years ago?

Talking about upcoming HMM Zoids treat, our friends at ZP have provided this nice little tidbit below:

Anyone here tried repainting their D-Style Blade Liger in Night Fight colours? Can you give me the Tamiya paint recipe for it, please?

I'm so falling in love with this customized little Bloody DS!!
Thanks to Darwock at ZP for the Bloody recipe: Tamiya TS-33 Dull Red, TS-38 Gun Metal and TS-42 Light Gun Metal.
Now it's not only Sir Ahtiven who will have a "Bloody" DS in their stable. biggrin.gif

I still have not gotten round to repainting the D-style Bladey as I need to dig out its older sibling for colour comparison.
In the hope that someone can help - can anyone provide the Tamiya recipe for the standard Blue Blade Liger, please?

I need this Death Stinger built here! What do you think the cost of fabrication would be?

Anyone willing to teach here about how to use modeling Putty to make Zoids parts? The previous "HMM" Mugen Liger would make a lovely statue in the house.

Apologies if I misled people into thinking that there was an HMM Mugen Liger being released. I was actually referring to a previous post that I had put up:

EDIT: Looks like the modeler is in the midst of HMM-ifying a Brastle Tiger.

RM10K+ to build the teleoperated Death Stinger? Well, it's going to be a long time before I can get around to building one then. I still want a Zrk, Zabre, Gore, Krark, etc tongue.gif

There is definitely a lot more HMM Zoids being sold in the shops. Fuzors Gairyuki is nowhere in sight, however. Can you get the little Warthog+Gun piece from another Zoid model?

D-style Deathsaurer and Bladey are available around the Berjaya Times Square areas.
I saw some HMM Schneider units as well, if anyone wants it.

Personally, I need Valga. I want to see if I can battery-op the little sucker.
As Sir Ahtiven is NEVER going to split up his Rebirth collection ( tongue.gif), can anybody else help with this?

@Cole: HMM Gojulas was slated for late 2012, if I recall correctly. If you're getting the HMM Godos, could you let us know if it comes with its rounded "white head" too, please?

@Ahtiven: Congratulations on scoring the Seismosaurus. Really need to thank our Singaporean cousins for stockpiling motorised Zoids when they went on sale there. I kinda remember seeing a picture showing SGD5 for a command wolf?
If you're going to panel line that Sissy - brown or tan would work much better than black, I feel.

Yo people - do you know of anyone selling their Fuzors Gojulas Giga, Ultimate Seismo and/or Genesis Hayate? PM me please if you've got some leads.

Yeah yeah. I know Koto Zoids are the shiznits now but I needs me some ol'skool love.

@Ahtiven:
Storm bros? Long time didn't see them around but I think all were from ZP Sing members. Bummer, eh?
