Your car's grounding is not good already so the VS current doesn't able to traverse well to every part. QUOTE(fstrader @ Mar 15 2011, 05:28 PM) it is OLD but it still cheap to maintain and run. Every car is using it's Body as a grounding medium. Meaning that the negative connection be it from battery, or light bulb, or any electrical appliance are in a way connected through the car's body in order to close a electrical circuit. waddya mean car's grounding is not good? the aftermarket wires or the original car groundings? Well older cars tend to have problem where the body is not so electricity conductible and performance is lower than what it is when it was new. In many cases, not only the body affecting that but the stock cable quality like "battery to body/gearbox that cable" also degraded. VS is installed on battery terminals, thus the only path for it's current to reach your light, engine, or etc are the degraded stock cable. Then the VS is unable to perform well. By adding a set of after market grounding cable system (Refer to the picture posted on my grounding cable thread), then your car's grounding system is enhanced and also VS's current is able to use the grounding cable to reach certain points in the car and thus the result is improved performance. Car: Honda Accord '93, dry battery
Gadgets: dvd player, Pyle of sh*t amp, alpine comps, nak coax, air refiner I've this VS for a while; doesn't seem to give benefits. But then my car is 18yo. so the other day I pulled the VS, redid the grounds and saw some improvement. Had the VS back in but no difference. Perhaps one day when I can afford a better amp & sub this thing might be a good use. But in the meantime if anyone WTB/Try can have my VS for half price I bought. |

QUOTE(eek-1 @ Mar 17 2011, 03:46 AM) Car: Honda Accord '93, dry battery hi bro old car tend to have poor grounding, if the grounding is not good then VS's current cannot distributed to everywhere of the car then you can imagine it's blocking in the middle.Gadgets: dvd player, Pyle of sh*t amp, alpine comps, nak coax, air refiner I've this VS for a while; doesn't seem to give benefits. There are 4-5 cables for full correct grounding, so even wrong connection of 1 gc will affect the effect from VS. please allow me to check your grounding This post has been edited by erictioh: Mar 17 2011, 10:13 AM |
