Bro, I just joined this forum & find that your thread was very interesting. So can I have further detail on any future problems (cars catch on fire, possibilities of current shorting, etc)..?? news nowadays shows so much accident and cars get burned down.

I'm working at Puchong, so where's your shop located..??

I would like to try on my myvi cool2.gif

thanks smile.gif

The highest at 16v, all car's alternator supposed to run at around 14.2 V, if it shoot up beyond 15V, then many stuff inside your car will have problem and this is alternator defective case.

Sorry I lost many of my school theory about capacitance/coulombs for how to convert the charge to AMP(/h) value. Just want to know the amp value from your cap can support to car e-system, compare to the value from battery. I suspect my car battery is weak which causing cold start is weak, and "might" affect my engine performance. So in this case not sure should I change car battery, or install your stuff :-D
At the end, how much now ?

If you have cold start problem, here is the steps you can do:

1. Check if the battery is still ok
2. If the battery is ok, and cold start problem persist, then it's the grounding from battery to engine high in resistant. Need to do grounding.
3. If the battery is weak, change the battery.

But how to check the battery ? 1 of the simple way to do is using a voltmeter, read the voltage when you crank start the engine, if the voltage drop down below 5V at that split second, then the battery is weak.

We just don't try to get VS in the picture 1st because a stock car shouldn't have cold start problem right ? Eventhough VS will help on cold start a bit, but if the case is serious it doesn't help.

thks. the battery is > 2.5 years old MF type at 55A/H.
Not like cannot start, but compare car to car, mine is slower/weaker a bit in start up, and off course, engine performance also lesser.
Do you think bigger capacity battery(70AH) helps in cold start and overall engine performance ?
May want to try do grounding.

If your car has grounding problem, even you change to bigger battery it doesn't solve the problem. My advice is install grounding 1st, to see if it improved, anyhow a set of grounding not only will improve the starting issue, but also deliver more current to your car appliances.

alternator to battery negative, if not long, then engine head to batt.

The grounding cable do help a little on engine smoothness !
But too bad, my -ve terminal's nut&screw is "dead lock" type that not allow nut to be un-screw out, therefore I think those ring lug terminal like from your VS cannot be used ! My grounding cable is without ring lug but bare copper wire exposed, but tighten by screw of both points.

Thanks bro, after using Tufoil the feel is like you're using very good motor oil where it's slippery and engine noise reduced. Your tappet noise from which part ?

Bro your grounding cable is not purchased from me, you will make people misunderstood. Change your battery terminal and install using Ring lug. else the conductivity is not good coz the touching surface is less. thumbup.gif

HI, but the stock grounding cable is attached to stock terminal lug, which mean if change one, the task is huge cause need to take out the stock cable, and re-install it on new terminal lug ! Jia lat.
Or, I think maybe can cut/saw the ring lug of grounding cable or VS to become Y shape, so that can just slot in this Y to the terminal point, although the so called contact surface a bit less. Btw, the grounding effect is just significant, I can feel it, and if add one more VS, fuuyoh !
