No, the sensor located on the bottom right corner, below the third right LED.
Refer to the pic attached, try to cover that area with hand in bright ambient...you will see the LCD brightness level change.
You may go to Advanced Video Setting, under Backlight Pro or something to see the actual light level and adjust brightness level.

I have just gotten the Toshiba 55ZV600E and a Philips Blu Ray 2500 player a couple of weeks ago. Watching blu ray discs with them are great but have noticed a problem on and off while watching the movies - the TV screen and the BD player will go off for a second by itself and then come back on.
Initially I thought there was a problem with the blu ray disc as I then rewind the part where the TV went blank but everthing is ok. The part where I miss when the TV & Blu ray player went off is there and plays smoothly again.
This incident happened a few times on a few different discs - does anyone know what is wrong?
It could not be the TV as the TV did not experiece the same thing when I am watching Astro or DVD movies in my DVD player. I am not sure whether it is my Philips BD player but it is new...could it be the HDMI cable as it is the only cable that connects the TV to the BD player? But that cable is also new as it comes with the Philips BD player when I bought them recently...
Darenlks & anfieldude - any idea what is wrong?
if both the TV and BD goes off simultaneously, it sounds like a power problem. maybe the plug/power socket to the TV and BD has a problem?Initially I thought there was a problem with the blu ray disc as I then rewind the part where the TV went blank but everthing is ok. The part where I miss when the TV & Blu ray player went off is there and plays smoothly again.
