I don't have this problem so far (TV is nearly 2 months old). are you using HDMI ? if yes try changing the HDMI cable to see whether this solves the problem.

I believe this is caused by the HDMI handshake between your device and the tv. So far I only encountered once or twice when watching BD for my 11 months old set

yes for BD are using HDMI, don't think is the cable problem cause when watching astro it happen too, astro using S-cable came together with the TV, seem like me only my set got such problem

anyway since it not so serious i think just let it 1st, don't tend to call the toshiba technician ppl and then take my tv do some kind of experiment...lol biggrin.gif , later come back lagi worse

Just brought 47ZV600E at Electrical Shop at Kinrara. I already look at other places only here there is a ready stock. Price is RM 3700. I do expect that the price a bit inflate due to the fact that shop owners knows that bargain people still searching for this discontinue model...

Usually TV blackout is indeed HDMI handshake problem, so it's weird that you get it with S-Video cable too.

May indicate some circuit problem in the TV.

As for ZV vs XL - I actually prefer ZV, faster refresh rate and I find LED TV look a bit too bright and sharp - doesn't suit viewing all kinds of content.

Registered for my free HDMI DVD player from Toshiba after my purchase, wonder when it'll arrive biggrin.gif

since got 2 explanation regarding the blackout are cause by HDMI handshake, then should be normal for watching HD stuff, while S-video maybe cause by transmission from satellie, i guess i am too sensitive laugh.gif

the dvd player arrived at my house around 1 month

HDMI handshaking shd occur once when u power up the system that r connected and shd never need to be renegotiated unless there is a change in the signal. What u r experiencing is not normal.

Usually caused by dodgy cable, or out of date TV firmware (doesn't recognize device being plugged in).

Have also seen some AVR had some problems which caused intermittent black-out on TV when switching sources.
