oh yea,  is QUT affected by the flood ?
*
Gardens Point campus is all but closed. Its a lake everywhere. Those who live in the CBD are trapped in their own place. Kelvin Grove is still dry, but if Kelvin Grove Campus floods I don't think Brisbane will be quite livable.

In any case QUT is all closed, and the road to UQ is a river.

If your results is above the minimum requirement then nothing to worry about.
International students = cash cows to them.
When did you apply to Uni B,C,D and etcs?
If you're desperate give them a call to expedite your application and play the "I got an offer from uni xx and the deadline offer is approaching soon, but I would like to study in this uni ......"
Call them do not email them, the sooner you get this done the better for you to booked your flight ticket and find your accommodation.
Take note if the uni is in brisbane expect delay, that place is flooded, pretty bad.
*
Ahh.. got a bit relieved. I applied uni B and C, via QTAC [Around mid-Nov, and both institutions under QTAC are notified with my application] and uni D via SATAC [once my Aussie year 12 results are out - end of Dec, they gave me an auto-conditional offer and advised me not to do anything till they send unconditional offers into my email]. Uni A is based from forecast results and gave me a conditional offer in early Dec and later to unconditional after submitting my results.

AFAIK,
Offer rounds for QTAC - Tomorrow [13/1] for Uni B and [14/1] for Uni C, but doubt it will arrive on time due to floods in Brisbane. Just notified, pushes till 20th of Jan. OMG!.
SATAC [Uni D] - [14/1].
Offer from Uni A - [14/1] It was made final by the administration dept. No appeals will be entertained.

Main preference: Uni B. However, the entry requirements for Uni B is sorta high. My results are somehow pretty close behind the course I would like to enrol, after looking at the OP table provided by QTAC, thought my interstate results might be converted slightly higher and may stand a chance to get in. Just read an article involving some statistics and shows majority of QTAC applicants are highly interested in commerce, which hinted me that the competition is going to be real stiff. It doesn't really matter if I get accepted or not at the end of the day, I just want to find out what's their response. Afraid once if I accept other offers and pay in beforehand, and what if this offer comes in later, I would definitely remind myself that I've lost such a great opportunity. Eligible for Uni C and D by fulfilling entry requirements before the offer letter stamps my destiny.

Uni A is definitely the last or second last preference, in case if all 4 institutions do not accept me.

Preferences
Uni B> Uni C/E> Uni D/ Uni A.

Lol, I guess I'm a bit of risk-taker than playing safe for now. sweat.gif

That's a great idea. Different exposure and experiences. Hopefully it doesn't waste more time in doing additional units. thumbup.gif . Hmm... but somehow.. I am not sure will that affect my exemptions for all fundamental papers for ACCA qualification. Hahaha, another problem comes along xD.

What do you guys think of Brisbane. Wonder how long does it take for the city to recover from such disastrous nature phenomena. Do you think student accommodations are going to get interrupted?

to be honest u can just walk in and scout urself, security isnt tight at all. In fact if u dress up, and act natural i think they wouldnt even ask u to scan ur membership card laugh.gif and its small enough for u to see around from the entrance itself.

I am glad you got your visa on time.
Now enjoy your time at home before going abroad.

True regarding the security, just before exam week a friend of a friend was stabbed multiple times with a knives in the gym in one of the uni's college and was hospitalized for 3 weeks.
He survived and to put cheery on the cake, he didn't have to do his exams and got all HDs in his course because his coursework's marks were near-perfect.
Nonetheless it is a traumatic experience from my point of view, lucky bloke he survived.
Anyway never workout in the gym alone, always practice the buddy system.

That was a college's gym in North Adelaide, not university campus gym.
I forgot to mention he was stabbed because it was a robbery and he resists and he was the only one in the gym.

do students get an extra baggage (instead of the usual 20kg) ? I'm flying to Melb, just booked through S'pore Airlines. I don't think 20kg is enough for me sad.gif
