Hi,

Trial Results is for SPM / STPM / Foundation studies? I am not sure whether those HSC / SAM thing for trial / forecast results. Even there is, they won't fully review your application until you got the full results.

SPM wise, you can only apply for international colleges / TAFE related studies. Sorry I do not know about STPM.

The rules of thumb is that conditional offer letter is offered when you meet about 80% of the core requirements and the 20% left is pending of soon to be acquired.

Yes, if your met study requirements, the application will be reviewed and they will issue conditional offer letter to you stating that you need to meet the English Requirements and etc.

Unconditional Offer Letter will only be issued when all the requirements are met + payment.

Hi again,

I am planning to apply for university of Queensland for postgraduate studies.

As I went through their website they recommended that I visit the IDP office I went to IDP website and found one of their branches in KL.

now my question is how much do they usually charge for their services ?

And what documents I need to give them ?

Can I apply directly to the university and than ask the IDP office to help me get the visa ?

What documents do I need to bring to apply for the visa ?

Thanks in advance.

A-Level forecast might be applicable, but still, without the real result, the best you can get is a conditional offer letter.

My suggestion is wait for your real result. Before that, have all the details and document ready, like your SPM results, transcripts, get IELTS etc. Your college placement office will help you. If they are not too effective, go to those agency like AusEd, ASA or IDP. They will guide you through.

Application fee wise, no worries on that, usually its totally waived nowadays. However, like limeuu says, go during the exhibition and you will get quite a lot of info and goodies. The agencies will also have some representative from the universities present from time to time. Remember to keep in touch with them.

However, I would suggest you not to apply for more than 5 universities. I applied 7 last time and it took me 2 weeks to decide where to go.

You got preferred Uni / Course to study?

Hi Jason,

Reply as per below:

IDP is not bad, but got other agencies you can look around smile.gif

There are no charges for the services. You only need to pay for your visa fees and if applicable - IELTS tutorial and exam fees.

Documents wise - its the same - transcripts and certs from SPM to Degree, English Test (if applicable), Resume + work offer letter (if applicable), application form, maybe a letter of intent of studying in UQ and thats about it.

You can directly apply to UQ. However, if this is the first time you apply to study in Australia, my suggestion is for you to contact some placement agencies and help you through it. They know Process A - Process Z clearly.

Visa application - I think your offer letter, medical exam result and details on how you will made payment for study and it will be fine. Let agencies handle this.

UQ is a good uni, wish you all the best for your uni applications.

DO NOT wait for your real results. The entry dates for various courses varies from university to university. Better safe than sorry.

Hi D_s_X,

I don't agree with that...never ever rush on making decisions.

There are usually 2 intakes every year, and most of the courses can start on both the intakes. A-Levels results come out by August, right? You can start the application process after that.

OK, let say you really need to start by July (one month before the official result comes out), then you can use the forecast results. However, as far as I know, not many universities accept that. Even they do, they will not let you study beyond semester 2 if *touchwood* the result is not satisfactory.

Anybody can help further? Which Uni can accept forecast result?

IDP is one of recommended agents around. They do not only handle IELTS. If you have went to the one in Subang the one on the ground floor is where you can have consultations and whatnot to apply to Universities, while the IELTS center is on the first floor.

IDP organise IELTS examinations. They also help students who wishes to study overseas (particularly in OZ) by providing info and guidance.

Its not that we can't say, we could say any uni is best in particular course but what do we (as students) know no more than agencies sweat.gif
