yeah, 2GB is more than enough i think, unless you do a lot of intensive tasks
slightly OT, i wonder if it's OK to run 7 on 1GB ram anyone here tried before with their P4? |

haha..i'm tempted to run 7 on my AMD x2 now, although with 1GB. So if can get any feedback from P4 users here, can roughly know what the performance will be like.
If still using P4 i dont think i'll run on 7 |

just for info, few days ago i actually tried running win7 on a Pentium Dual Core laptop with 1GB RAM, it's actually quite responsive and fast. but that was probably because it was just formatted i guess. In the long run i think it wouldn't be good. From what I observed, after startup and some minor internet usage, the RAM usage is around 50-60%.
so i guess i better get another 1gb ram before trying on my X2.. |

it's reliable, and quite speedy too
using it as my system disk now and for storing my HD movies, now almost about 6-7 months of usage. Runs pretty at pretty cool temps too |

QUOTE(edministrator @ Jan 17 2011, 05:55 PM) in comparison with previous pricing, yes. we are saying the price is going down, but we don't mean that it's cheap by any means. affordable pricing is a different definition to different group of users too. yes, the definition of 'cheap' and 'affordable' can be subjective sometimes |

depends on the usage, if just wanna use for HTPC / H.264 acceleration, then budget cards also will do, like GT4xx series, or the models that edmin mentioned

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ May 9 2011, 02:27 PM) I am doubt as the performance of SSD wil be somehow bottleneck by SATA1 controller. But it will still be impressive if the disc transfer rate can achieve at 120MB/s & above. Just wandering with SSD performance on old school SATA 1. just curious, if add a PCI SATAII card, will the speed improve, or would it be bottlenecked by the PCI bus? |

it will be quite a bottleneck, coz as mentioned in previous posts, even with gt210 also got some bottleneck.
it'll work, but you will not be able to have the best performance from the 6670 when you play games, coz it's limited by the processor. |
