very true indeed fylon. looking at all the news and reviews of new stuff always so mouth-watering. Most disappointing part is seeing the price, and then seeing how much that's in our pocket

it's not detected in the BIOS itself already right? if yes, means it wouldn't be drivers or OS problem already

Did you try checking this 4 sections?
>Standard CMOS Features >Advanced BIOS Features >Advanced Chipset Features >Integrated Peripherals Boot sequence or the SATA controller settings should be somewhere around there. Can check at Standard CMOS Features section to see if the hdd is detected |

if not mistaken the fastest is 3.6GHz. there's also 3.2GHz, but those are quite hard to find. more commonly found is 3.0GHz

are those hdds listed as primary master/slave and secondary on SATA or IDE?
there might be a possibility that the SATA controller is dead. My friend had a P4 mobo too, and the IDE controllers just went dead for no reason. Couldn't detect any devices on either ports. |

have you tested the hard disks on another pc? as i mentioned above, suspect that the sata controller on your mobo is dead |

guys, my friend's pc has this problem. it's cant boot, and once i took out all the IDE cables, it can boot. When i use different cables, sometimes it boots sometimes it does not. However when it does boot, the IDE hard disks and CD-ROM cant be detected. Could it be that the IDE port / chip KO-ed?

QUOTE(Jcsy @ Sep 28 2010, 02:03 PM) regarding that IDE problem, erm, power cables ? i send it to shop for troubleshooting, coz after a few days the pc couldn't even boot up. mobo is confirmed faulty. dont know whether to get a cheap 2nd hand replacement, or might as well just get a newer platform 2nd hand set, maybe like 775 or AM2 i got 4 IDE running, 2 IDE + 2 IDE sometimes a pair of IDE , DIE sometimes its ok... this is due to old power cables or rather loose |
