Abit IS7-E isn't the low end board. Abit boards are very durable.

Your previous Silverstone was the 400w model right? If i am not mistaken, the PSU is a slightly low end model,no active PFC.

@edmin,lyn front page has a news saying that the hardware price will keep going up this year especially on LCDs. I am struggling to get a larger LCD but sometimes i just feel it is not a must for me. Between, are you in KL area now?

Northwood is able to have the temp idle at 3x degree C with stock heatsink fan.

This is the nature of Prescott core.

Added on January 31, 2010, 10:43 pmHi all, this thread is so quiet. I have just clean off my CM690 from dust for the first time. The filter on the casing is doing a very good job except the one beside the panel which doesn't come with filter.

Guess what, too may of our members shifting to new era of 'i" series... even most of 775ers are shifting also. I just bought a new MSI board which before that caused me a big dilemma to change or not to. Sometime I feel that upgrading between the same platform is kinda useless, i5? i7? wish I got much money to poked out from the pocket  cry.gif
*
This thread has been quite for sometime, maybe you are right. Time to migrate? For me i will again stay with my old school until last drop.Love my system + casing very much after re-organized it. wub.gif

"i" teers are meant to replace the old school LGA775 but is not the instant one. Now you can notice that LGA775 mobos are hardly to get a high end one.

@powerwoot,i think MSI motherboard doesn't come with the good one except platinum series on P35. The test like Biostar T-Power i think is not really a popular brand even though the some is somehow having overclock at certain processors. I got feedback from my friend on his AMD Biostar mobo, their bios has never updgraded to support AM2+,he is vmad.gif

@ Ray,
Yea. Flying high! Noticeable performance and FPS. Eg, run SF4 full HD & all max, 880GTS only 12-15fps. 260GTX+ maintaining 60fps.
*
@fylon,such a huge gap from GTX250 to GTX260+.

I'm still in the same boat you know tongue.gif (although pecah a few times laugh.gif ). But I'm also considering to get myself an i5 750, but have to postpone it for the time being. sad.gif

My pc got problem right now. If running without installing gpu driver(nvidia), can work without crashing. but after install nvidia driver, wait for sometime or restart, pc will most definitely crash doh.gif  doh.gif

Which GC are you with? I think the older gen. AGP cards might not need the latest driver from nVidia.

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Feb 3 2010, 04:24 PM)
I don't see any slight faster 1:1 vs auto  rclxub.gif , hmm maybe I need to play again with ram and fsb after this  sweat.gif
*
Of course there is,the significant one is you can try with Super Pi.

One thing is, before the crashing thing happen, my monitor screen will display some crap before suddenly crash or monitor lost signal. rclxub.gif

Is your thermal paste begin to dry out? Seems like your GC is causing the unstable issue.

How to check? AFAI remember, I never took out the gc from the agp slot for a long long time.

Is there any problem if both vga and dvi cable are connected to monitor and gc at the same time?
*
Dismantle the heatsink fan to check.
