I disagree that netbooks are hard to type on as most netbooks have almost full-size keyboards.

I dont know.... as some of you argue over the like and hate... but personal opinion actually.... some may say the keyboard sux on this tablet... hello it is a tablet... if you put in a keyboard it is not called a tablet anymore... common sense laaa.....

yes it does say MOVIE!!! you can watch movie on it... so it must be WIDE SCREEN and HD meh.... c'mon.. even if they manage to give you HD so... the screen is small for you to see... by the way 1024 by 768 is considered HD 720P also yes it is not WIDE screen... because it was not design to be a wide screen tablet it is design to be a all rounder tablet... I believe the screen size is just nice for one to hold at vertical and horizontal view... simple as that...

some of you may complaint that the 30pin connector port suc it should be USB... WHY???? USB??? so you can plug in erm.. External Drive... USB Fan... erm... I dont know Keyboard and mouse smile.gif
hello... Apple approach if you haven't use iPhone is WIRELESS.....
This is an AWESOME wireless device and most of the stuff apple did is streaming.. want see movie stream it from your Harddisk I did that on my 3Gs... want to get some File extract it from the computer... simple... it is AWESOME what Wifi and Bluetooth can replace... Bluetooth can connect to keyboard and mouse (if you want a mouse laa) it does support just need some one to write the software... get a SDK of OS3
hahaha

seriously... when I use my notebook I only use my USB for Harddrive and nope nothing else.. sometime is my external speaker lor...

so is USB that important??? apple prove it with the macbook air that usb is not quite really important..

You might as well be happy with a non HDTV because from where you are sitting, you can barely see the details on the screen on a HDTV.
The iPad should be widescreen simply because its an industry standard and most movies on iTunes are in widescreen format. You'll definitely see a lot of black bars on the iPad watching movies.

I agree that iPad would not benefit much from a USB port but its important to me on a laptop because I have a lot to external devices eg. mouse, cooler, friend's flash drives and my own drives.

Haha seeing ppl argue over 4:3 or wide screen hahaha
seriously if it is a LCD TV yes it matters
but on a 10" hahaha look there is reason why wide screen was not used

1: OS3 apps are not wide screen
2: most of the webpage currently best view at 1024 by 768
3: the movie can zoom in, yes it sucks... But then again if the movie is ultra wide even wide screen shows letter box!!!
4: we want iPhone apps to work on ipad else we need to purchase ipad app all over again
5: so what if apple put in wide screen people will complaint it is too big for ebooks blablabla

so why 4:3?? Why not ???

It is simple argument yet again but as a web developer the Industry standard still hmm 1024 by 768
*
Nonsense, 1024x768 is too cramp for viewing web page. It is only because Apple add pinch-to-zoom gesture makes it viewable. I don't like it that I have to constantly pinch to view the webpage as I want.

No, when there is no reason given, you should not say anything.

It may not works for you, but may be not the rest. Personally i am perfectly fine and confort with typing on a multi-touch flat screen, i dont need an additional keyboard. I like what it has in iphone/ipod touch/ipad, just the way it works.  smile.gif
*
Erm, you haven't used a large multi-touch screen have you? Because for what Apple advertises, its suppose to be a netbook replacement with a full word processor app in it. Its fine with iPhone and iPod Touch to type perhaps 100-200 characters while holding it but I can't really see my self taking down notes for a 2 hour lecture with one hand or on an uneven surface due to its curved back.

Aiiiyo.... ok lets put it in clearer perspective....

Multi-touch, a technology first invented by apple for iphone and ipod touch, before this this ala multi touch was not even exist...

*
Multi-touch technology began in 1982, when the University of Toronto's Input Research Group developed the first human-input multi-touch system. The system used a frosted-glass panel with a camera placed behind the glass. When a finger or several fingers pressed on the glass, the camera would detect the action as one or more black spots on an otherwise white background, allowing it to be registered as an input. Since the size of a dot was dependent on pressure (how hard the person was pressing on the glass), the system was somewhat pressure-sensitive as well.[5]

wrong
it's not a netbook
but apple position it in the missing the gap between iphone and macbook

Which it's suppose to replace in the current market. I did not say that its a netbook.

QUOTE
you're saying uneven back surface, have a serious look on it again
it's kind of large flat area with a curve finish at the side
should be sufficient to provide stability on table
*
According to Engadget in their hands on, Typing on the iPad can be a little difficult. Holding it in your lap is fairly easy, but as you can see in our video up above, when it's flat on its back on a table, it tends to move around a bit given that it's curved.

then invest a bit in the casing with do (or sleeve)

one thing missing in iPad is pen
i do thing it need pen input, i can only imagine i have pen to write notes in class rather type
*
Its a design flaw which that matters.

Steve Jobs cursed the stylus to death when he introduced the iPhone that there is no looking back.

it's pen like wacom touch
not stylus

Human being start learn writing with holding stick
*
Still, I don't think Apple will implement it because it has all the same "flaws" as stylus stated by Steve Jobs.

Debatable, finger in the sand also can write.

From that sentence, Malaysia would fall under 'additional countries', so it's safe to say Malaysia won't be getting the iPad anytime before April. Later this year+SIRIM approval period=late this year.
*
I think it refers to the 3G models.

Ah... I just love the arguement about gadget and computing for iPad.

I, myself don't know where to classify iPad. However, I am sure it will work better for the young working generation. As for students, I don't see any good use of iPad in class.
*
I believe it is targeted for the less savvy demographics ie. baby boomers who just want to surf the web, check emails and do some word editing. The younger generations prefer a full desktop OS which is more powerful and cheaper.

I can imagine using the iPad for flipping through textbooks.
