mine was ps3 slim ff13 ed wor.. couldn't be fake controller mah.. beside charging using ps3 is ok wor, oni pc kenot

Make sure the USB port is the high powered USB port. If you connect to a USB hub usually it has not enough voltage to drive the charger.

i encounter this with xbox360 controller before..just similar symptom..blinking2 for awhile.. but then off blinking..

check battery level..after playing for awhile.. controller off..

for ps3, not encounter this before..agreeed on above..either ur controller battery is dead..or ur controller is fake..and the battery doesnt last long..

*my xbox360 battery was a fake too..

i plug into front USB port.. shouldn't b problem right.. i try mobo backpanel first

i m very positive on the charger usb port is over power supplied.
coz my usb is adapter based =="
and when i plug into my controller, it only blink less than 15 times

Y u neva charge using ur PS3?
If charge using ur PS3 oso kenot means sumthing wrong.
Either it's a fake ctrl or it rosak liao

If use PC, u need 2 install a s/w 2 make it compatible wif PC.
I can't remember where 2 get tat s/w tho...
U gotta ask d other sifus in LYN

nah din work.. i plug into high speed port oso da same.. im sure mine was not fake controller issue.. after all i buy mine ff13 ps3 from "ilikepanadol"

trying charge by using ur ps3.. or if u have another controller.. try unscrew it..and change each other battery..it's a good test to find out..

if the same result is happen again..means it's the controller itself..if not..it will be the battery..

i suspect the battery could be spoilt..

if your controller its a brand new, u should send it back to seller and ask a replacement.. u deserved for a new one

Try charging another controller and see if its working
Sometimes it can be the cable itself spoilt

maybe new controller different from old controller.. but all my controller sixaxis or DS3 can be charge

in any usb port..low speed or high speed with no hassle.. maybe u shud try another computer?

trial and error~ might be some USB settting in computer also..who knows~

No software needed to charge ur controller through PC bro. If u can fully charge it using ps3, then confirmed it's power not enough from ur usb hub.

why do u need to charge at the pc anyway? u used up all ur usb port?

could be one of many reasons below:
1)pc nearer,ps3 further away.wanna charge while playing
2)wanna charge while ps3 is off
3)pc already on,why not use it,instead of switching on the ps3 solely to charge the controller?
4)as you said, maybe all ports used up

the number 1 reason is why i charge my ds3 thru my laptop usb ports instead of my ps3 ports..lol

also,it could be just loose?
my mini usb is abit loose,so sometimes have to jerk it abit before it really charges the controller properly

your ds3 not fake , but deffective unit of ds3...it happens to me also ( that time im using ps3 80gb MY set ) , this issue are very common for the ds3 controllers
