QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Jan 31 2010, 10:11 PM) did some research on the place, i think its suitable more for exercise than photography , the scenery up there is so so and a photog would have to bet for a nice weather to get a good shot, its very extremely hazy nowdays. but sooooooo many DSLR users went there lori c mostly Canon high end model users, for Nikon i c mostly D60/D3000, lol but try climbing with a DSLR hanging on your neck is crazy im crazy myself too, carrying the weight of my D5000 with kitlens + flash + 1 SLR + 55-200 + 50mm + tripod + 1.5 liter water, freaking heavy! |

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jan 31 2010, 10:35 PM) Yea hiking/climbing with dslr stuff is really tiring. I tried once and the weather wasn TOOOOO hot until the horizon of the sea seems "soft and blur", the sun was too striking hot. Wasted my effort... tiring actually is not an issue(not broga hill, near tanjung tuan light house) safety is the important aspect carrying those heavy stuffs, really can drag u down when u fall i lost my balance today n slipped, due to the weight of my bag now have a big bruise on my leg... |

QUOTE(Cwz90 @ Feb 3 2010, 09:31 PM) yes if u wan shoot landscape n portrait with nice bokeh, go for Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 without VC, around Rm1.5k if u wan versatility, go for Nikkor 18-105mm, about Rm1.1k for new set, as it has VR, n the IQ is better than Tamron 18-200 but if u really wan 18-200 range, Sigma 18-200mm OS(optical stabilizer) is a good choice at Rm1.5k |

QUOTE(Cwz90 @ Feb 3 2010, 09:40 PM) is Nikkor 18-105mm and Sigma 18-200mm OS is the same??? Nikkor 18-105 n Sigma 18-200 r of the same class lens, zoom lensesfor versatility use.... Sigma 18-200mm OS got VC??? the only difference is Nikkor can only zoom up to 105mm, shorter zoom than at 200mm OS stands for Optical Stabilizer OS = VC = VR, jz in different names |

QUOTE(maxh3h3 @ Feb 3 2010, 11:53 PM) it really depends but higher aperture will let u shoot in higher shutter speed compare to the f5.6 zoom lens. spelling check If u really want nice pics at low light, only solution is using flash or get a higher iso performer like d90/300/700 and the big bro d3 D90 is the favorite now because it use the same sensor as the d300 semi pro which able to produce very nice quality pics even at high iso. D5000 oso using big bro D300 sensor, im proud of it |

lets say i have about rm2k (from angpao
which lens is more worth between these 3? 1) either Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G AF-S or Sigma 50mm f/1.4G (basically 50mm lens) 2) Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 VC 3) Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR im thinking between these 3 cos of each lenses advantages & disadvantages, n their price range r very close i always wanted the 50mm, but it can be too narrow sometimes n very inconvenient to change lenses so comes in the thought to get Tamron 17-50, but getting this lens will mean my kitlens is wasted thinking of 70-300 cos i dun have zoom lens, but the f/5.6 at 300mm may be to hard to use in low light |

QUOTE(Isepunye @ Feb 19 2010, 12:09 AM) i thnk i will go for thammy. 50mm is nice but its more to 2ndary lens to me to play outdoors or zoom people face while 1750 is more versatile. i wanted the 50mm as portrait/2ndary lens as i have the 18-55 n i love the bokehlast choice is out of my list as i hardly shoot tele but like u said, 17-50 is more versatile, but takut my 18-55 collecting dust n spend so much on a lens which is 'almost' similar(except aperture), takut my mak marah Added on February 19, 2010, 12:15 am QUOTE(ky-l @ Feb 19 2010, 12:13 AM) thx for advise This post has been edited by General_Nic: Feb 19 2010, 12:15 AM |

QUOTE(latias93 @ Feb 20 2010, 03:04 AM) I was focusing on a blank wall just now when I spotted dusty particles through the viewfinder which wasn't there before. I wiped clean both the lens and UV filter after each use, so it only confirms my suspicion that my sensor is dirty. Weird, as I haven't removed my lens for about 2 months). u said u spotted dust 'through' the viewfinder, but do u c any dark spots on the pics u took?I switched to my 18-55 kitlens and still see the dust. Confirm the sensor kotor. Sifus, got any tips/links on good guides on how to clean the sensor? Or should I send for the mahal 'professional' cleaning service? most likely u have dust inside the viewfinder or on the mirror(which is very common n does not affect pics) cos u cant c dust on sensor thru the viewfinder the image u c is reflected by the mirror to the eyepiece, where the mirror is in front of the sensor the sensor is not related at all pls checked properly b4 u panic n start worrying, my 2cents even if really have dust on your sensor, cleaning services r very standard n common service i doubt "professional" cleaning can have ridiculously big difference results from "not-so-professional" cleaning its jz to clean off dust, do u expect them to have industry heavy machinery to do the job? send to Nikon service centre to clean only requires rm60 for DX cams n rm80 for FX cams without warranty i'll say the technicians there r qualified as professionals This post has been edited by General_Nic: Feb 20 2010, 03:56 AM |
