I'm still on nikon, won't jump ship to canon even though my fren keep poisoning me with his 450D. My D40 is much easier and flexible to be used. With pop up flash in low light the Av Mode wont adjust shutter speed automatically, still low speed. And changing the AF point also not that convenient~

So i'll stay with nikon and upgrade to D90 if possible~ Nikon go go!

Some1 selling me nikon 55-200mm VR for rm480.. but it's 2 years old ++, no fungus but i dunno i really need it or not. My budget quite tight also, but if next time i need then i might need to buy new set with almost double price.. Hard to consider lehh

Its a matter of whether u need that lens or not. Sometimes its just luck for we bump into a good bargain and buy something that we dont really need.
Its a very good bargain for a 55-200 VR. Make sure u check it nicely before u pay the cash.

At that bargain, u should ask yourself, can u sell it away without losing sum of money?
If its cheap to buy and easy to sell it when u wanna put it away , then i say its fine right smile.gif

good luck, maybe got someone bought it already  vmad.gif

I don't need 55-200mm all the time but sometimes during outing i really need it. 18-55mm i use the most but at rm480 is really tempting. Last time i went singapore got concert of my fav singer but i cant capture cuz too far.

So i think im getting it. Waiting reply for the seller XD
What shuld i check when i try the lens? I dunno how to check lenses because this is 1st time getting a lens. How to check fungus, focusing prob etc?

Added on January 16, 2010, 8:14 pmOh sadly, someone reserved for viewing. Looks like I might miss this good chance T.T

Cheap filters are prone to lens flare. I went shooting sunset and when i used my cheap raydawn uv filter the lens flare was terrible. I remove it and no more lens flare.

Perhaps it's time for you to get a Pro 1D UV filter? XD

flare, remove ur UV filter, cheap or expensive still got flare sometimes, expensive filter only reduce the flare amount.

then the purpose of UV filter is just to protect the lens?

Correct, one of the main use of UV is to protect your lens. Those cheap UV, especially those RM50 Hoya/Kenko often cause flare. The higher end ones would cause flare too, but minimal compared to the lower end.

last time i thought hoya rm50 uv filter is a very top uv filter... but then recently i know i was wrong. toko is a better choice i suppose?

Here's a website that benchmark and compiles performance from different filters.

http://www.lenstip.com/113.4-article-UV_fi...nd_summary.html

You get what you pay for, can't expect the RM50 Hoya to perform like the Pro1Ds right? =/.

I've yet to come across Toko yet.. no idea if it is better or not.

I see... you get what you pay =D

Initially I also thought cheap filter and expensive not much differences, but after experiencing flares then only I realize how important a good filter is. Either put a good one, or don't put at all. But if don't put I scared damage my lens la.. =(
*
I captured sunset view in port dickson last 2 weeks, with raydawn (cap ayam i think) uv filter, TERRIBLE flare... I removed the filter and no flare at all. But it's very prone to damage without a filter, so i think i should invent in a better filter... At least hoya Rm50 one is better than mine ==

I'm planning to get a SB600 when i upgrade to D90. Nissin's TTL is very weak... And build quality is very poor. But nevertheless it served me very well.

YES... that's the one..last saturday i saw 1 D300 used body for rm36++ only..with grade A condition
dunno whether it a good deal or not..

btw, what to check if wanna buy 2nd body?  nod.gif
shutter count?if so then how to check?

might considering buying it if it's a good deal... drool.gif
*
Shutter count i think need to use computer and opanda software to check, i dunno how to check in-camera.
Check thru the body see got scratch or not, check the shutter button etc... try taking a few shots and see got dust or not. Check also the LCD screen for dead pixels.

And yea ask for price slash!

Erm when i insert the kingston card into the slot the LED did light up longer than my original Nikon. But it doesn't matter la, cuz i saw it cheap there.

D40's burst speed is VERY slow and i seldom use continuous mode, speed isn't an issue for me at the moment =D
