just a kit lens can produce many nice picture too...
not saying that u got those flash and lens will improve ur pic...
it is ur skill that produce nice picture...

of cuz skill is the most important part, but with a flashgun which can swivel different direction, he can learn more tricks and improve his skill in using the flash like bouncing, diffusing, strobist etc.

Even with very good skill, using pop up flash without the diffuser will produce a harsh effect. Unless u use FF or prime lens lor, no need use flash haha. If u say to get the pop-up flash diffuser, might as well get a flashgun.

why u wanna get so many lens when u cant get the most out of it.
Of course something close to my budget and what i need
somewhere around 24mm to 70mm would be ok

on my target for the time.

AF-D 50 mm f1.4 (portrait event , wedding)
AF-D 50 mm f1.8 ( portrait ,wedding , event )
Tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC ( portrait , lanscape , low light event , wedding , wide angle)
Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 ( portrait, landscape , low light event , wedding) very tight and not suitable for group shoot
Tamron 90 mm f2.8 macro (for macro , portrait only)

i dont need long zooms to shoot birds ok. Portraiture   

budget around rm2000

17-50mm in the top list as it work as a 26mm-78mm on a dx format SLR

No crazy lens talk, everyone knows 70-200 f2.8 VR2 is the best but i cant afford it yet

get the 18-105mm..its an all rounder lens compared to the 55-200mm...

18-105 is the cheapest all rounder with VR if i m not mistaken. for a zoom len, VR is very important so u can forget about the 18-200 tamron without VC.
U could also consider Sigma 18-200 with the OS for a price cheaper than the nikkor.

55-200 VR is cheaper and not bad if u can switch lens fast and in the right way. It really depends on you alone.

18-55 kit len already one of the best nikon kit len ever.

I suggest u to get a 55-200 VR secondhand at a cheaper market price and play with it first.
If u cant stick to it, then u may sell it away maybe at the same market price for a secondhand
and move to the next level.

i want to let go my 18200 OS reason, rarely used. IINM item bough last year june. resit got but lost the warranty card     

if ur going to use it at birdpark only,then the 55-200mm is great for you.but let say suddenly u want to take a picture of a closer object,u still need to step back a few steps until u can get focus onto it..thats why i purpose for the 18-105vr or if budget permits,the 18-200vr..like my self,i alwiz carry my 17-50 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 in a lens case on my belt when going for bird shooting or wedding..or bring my gf d90 body,thus no need to hang the another lens in the lens case..

tamron 70-200mm wont have any VR/VC/OS/IS or any of that crap mumbo jumbo..yes,we do need a sturdy hand to keep it stable.thats why i love to used it during outdoor where the lighting is enough,thus a faster shutter is used..so,no need for the mumbo jumbo i mention earlier..

side track for awhile :- i bought my 70-200mm as a 2nd hand item priced at 2.4k..with a 10more months warranty from futuromic..if its a 1st hand,i wont spend 3k on it..But for the sigma,its outer coating wont last long..

i will consider first later i give u the answer

I got SB400 because my D3 don't have build in flash. Why you need sb400 for? The power is the same as build in flash anyway.

SB400 only can bounce flash when taking horizontal pics
it cant tilt left or right so no bounce flash when taking vertical pics

ya, the manual focus kinda worry me to buy f1.8 as for f1.4 is very expensive...
