Sanyo Eneloop 2000mah AA 4/pack NiMH Batteries

or
Sanyo 2700mah AA 4/pack NiMH Batteries?
2700mah not better than 2000 mah?
*
Higher mAh means more capacity. But Eneloops are LSD battery which means you can leave them for a year and still have power in them smile.gif. Normal NiMh like 2700mAh will eventually completely discharges themselves.

Err, not sure if you misunderstood what I mean or not. Batteries like Eneloop and Imideons are LSD batteries. Which means they have low self discharge as compared to the traditional NiMh batteries.

I don't quite understand what you mean by 'just lost its full capability'. Did you charge battery, then leaving it for 2 years and now its empty? shakehead.gif

i see most fashion photographer using it . I think it is use to mount your flash in a different position  than mounting it on your camera which block the entire center front view of yours. With a bracket , your flash will serve u the same but its position at the side  which enable u to lower down abit after every shoot and let u aim it faster without lowering it lower to survey what u shooting at.

hope this helps

If I'm not mistaken, this is for you to change your flashgun orientation when shooting vertical. Although most of the time I see fashion event photographers mount the flash on the tripod mounts of their 70-200 f/2.8 instead, does the same thing I guess, changing the orientation of the flash when changing to vertical shots.

D5000 should be using the exact metering in D90. Only the D300 and above uses different metering system.

Flash able to reach the twin tower? O shocking.gif
*
Of course cannot brighten up the twin tower, need multiple 'strobes' aka spot lights for that haha!

Some of his pics got objects much nearer ma.. if brighten up also those will overexpose first.. weird picture might appear lol. I've not personally tried landscape with flash yet..

*
Good choice if you don't have a tele lens now smile.gif. Completes your 18-55 55-200 range.

then the purpose of UV filter is just to protect the lens?
*
Correct, one of the main use of UV is to protect your lens. Those cheap UV, especially those RM50 Hoya/Kenko often cause flare. The higher end ones would cause flare too, but minimal compared to the lower end.

last time i thought hoya rm50 uv filter is a very top uv filter... but then recently i know i was wrong. toko is a better choice i suppose?
*
Here's a website that benchmark and compiles performance from different filters.

http://www.lenstip.com/113.4-article-UV_fi...nd_summary.html

You get what you pay for, can't expect the RM50 Hoya to perform like the Pro1Ds right? =/.

I've yet to come across Toko yet.. no idea if it is better or not.

Initially I also thought cheap filter and expensive not much differences, but after experiencing flares then only I realize how important a good filter is. Either put a good one, or don't put at all. But if don't put I scared damage my lens la.. =(

I guess should be the same range as Hoya/Kenko Pro1D. Can just check out the link I've posted, lots of filters being compared there.

it's slower

I heard the new 17-50 VC is actually faster than the 18-105 AF-S in terms of focusing speed. Someone posted that either in the D90 thread or this thread. Can't recall who was it.

Hmm, among the 11 AF points of D90, 4 of them is in the intersection of the lines. Can roughly use that as guide.

D90 even can turn on the grid for rule of 3rd tongue.gif poison poison poison

The grid isn't for rule of third =/. More like splitting into 4 parts though.

Yesterday went BTS Nikon centre again., tried d90 again but dunno how to change the AF point @.@ Not like d40 or d3000.

How to move the illuminated focus point to another point?
*
Check if the L is locked or not nearby the LCD. If it isn't, then you can switch points using the D-pad.

yes it is not. but u can assume the 4 box there as it merely describing that is the point where u shud ur subject in. like put full head inside one of the box. got my idea?
*
Self preference I guess.

This is how I refer to the rule of third (my preference). Not exactly 1/3, but these are the closest points for it. I'm not good as doing AF then recomposing with shallow DOF, 50mm f/1.4 for example so I'll stick with the closest point.

user posted image

The more accurate lines you can imagine is the most outer AF points for each sides.

QUOTE(shinjun @ Jan 29 2010, 02:02 PM)
IINM the D90 AF system won't illuminate like the D40 or D60 when change of focus point.
*
As in changing from center to side? It does illuminate if I'm not mistaken, you mean it lights up red for a moment as you switch the points?

Been using SB-900 for sometime, never actually thought of having a SB-800 rather than SB-900 yet. SB-900 just looks macho tongue.gif. Oversized flashgun haha! It makes SB-800, 580EXII and the rest looks tiny. But the longest event I've shot is probably 3-4 hours continuously only. Didn't shoot any longer yet.
