Hi. want to ask that if i take MUFY Jan intake , i can take 2 xtra units for xtra marks rite ? will the xtra marks help me to position myself a place for pharmacy in aus campus ? do i need to take ielts to study pharm in aus ?
*
Hi there. Yes, you can opt to take extra 1 unit in your first semester and another unit in your second semester. The 10% marks from the 9th and 10th unit will contribute to your total marks to help you to secure a place in Pharmacy degree. IELTS is mostly required by most Australian universities.

I know it ranks no 6 under the Review BOSS. The ranking under Review BOSS is based on surveys conducted on all the participating instituitions and it doesn't show the real picture. Anyone can give different opinion based on survey questions and it's subject to inaccuracies and biasness. The big question mark is since it ranks no 6, why the VU MBA is not accredited?

The MBA Guide Aust gives a more accurate & unbias ranking because it's based on detailed research and analysis conducted and NOT based on surveys. Under the MBA Guide, the VU MBA program is NOT even in the top 20.

VU ranks 36 out of 40 universities in Aust, the MBA program is not accredited & not in the top 20 under the MBA Guide, yet the fees is RM45k - RM47k....how do you explain it? Is Sunway a money sucking college?

Other colleges that offer MBAs which are not accredited, their fees is only on average RM25k.
*
Thank you for your enquiry dated 24th November 2011.

We apologise for the slight delay as we wanted to provide the most precise information in response to your statements.

1. The Australian Financial Review BOSS 2011 MBA Ranking is based upon the following:
a. Alumni survey (55%) based on satisfaction, improvement and value for money.
b. School score (45%) which includes international ranking, accreditations, entry requirements and faculty qualification with emphasis on academic degrees, current business experience of faculty and research.

2. The MBA Guide Australia is presumed to provide some grounds for accuracy as it is based on, according to the website (www.mbaguide.com.au/mba-rankings.php), rankings carried out by Asia Week with additional information from the Financial Times research into global MBA rankings, the Melbourne Institute, AFR BOSS, and the Australian Education Network. This therefore provides a ranking system that taps on various sources. However to some extent, this may ‘clutter’ the true assessment of a university.

3. The VU MBA may not hold the Association of MBAs seal of quality (only 3 universities in Australia have this accreditation: Monash Graduate School of Business, Curtin Graduate School of Business and QUT Graduate School of Business), but VU MBA provides strong student support and satisfaction. These are qualities that students have identified as important in the numerous surveys conducted worldwide. It has an effective academic support that regularly visits Sunway College at the beginning of each module and support is provided to the students via local lectures and access to online resources and contact with professors/lecturers in Victoria University, Melbourne. In the process of development, the VU MBA is one of the youngest programmes compared to the top ranking MBA programmes stated in the various MBA guides and reviews and to be ranked 6th in the AFR BOSS 2011 Review is an achievement indeed. This evidently illustrates progress in a programme that has been striving to provide the best quality and good value for investment.

4. In response to ‘Is Sunway a money sucking college?’, we would like to allude you to the fact that the facilities and support we have added to this programme justify our fees. All our programme fees within the Sunway Education Group have been thoroughly deliberated and developed to maintain the high quality and standards of campus environment, academic support and student facilities. The VU MBA fees you quoted earlier are inaccurate as the actual total fees only range between RM42,000 to RM45,000 (depending on preferred payment mode). In addition to tuition, our fees include:
a. Access to one of the top libraries that provide students access to Tun Hussein Onn Library within Sunway College and University as well as the libraries at Monash University Sunway and online library access to Victoria University, Melbourne;
b. Some of the best teaching and learning support facilities within and beyond the classroom (please refer to www.vu-mbaclub.com);
c. A well-proportioned network of students from numerous industries and an active alumni club. This is important in any MBA programme as you not only want a strong academic base but an invaluable networking platform to create business opportunities and to ‘climb the corporate ladder’;
d. A dedicated administrative department that is readily available to students should they require assistance; and
e. Meals and refreshments being provided during lectures to help ease the hectic schedules of our students who are predominantly working professionals.

5. The VU MBA and Sunway College are accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

For further enquiries we invite you and other interested parties to attend our preview on 17 December (11am) or call us at 03-7491 8622 to arrange an appointment with our Head of VU MBA, Dr. Hendry Ng.
