fansoption, if you want to shoot product macro (very different in angle to insect macro) then I strongly recommend the Sony 30mm F2.8 DT Macro SAM. The angle of view is better for food.

finejava: That's where the BankCard thing comes in for paying for the Zeiss one shot. Also the maximum withdrawal limit per transaction at say an RHB is RM1000; your daily total withdrawal can be set with a phone call. (It is usually higher than RM1500 though.) Of course if you wanted to take out RM2200 you'd have to enter your card three times lah (and usually, you don't budge from your place in the queue). The disadvantage is there but I don't buy these kinds of things everyday.

For hospitals they accept BankCard as well as medical insurance cards innit?

albnok: that is why i was saying...if the credit card gives u more benefits...use it...if u purchase a zeiss with say a sony credit card...u'll get 10X treat points...u can then use that point during maybank treatpoint fair to redeem for other thing else...why waste it on a bankcard which gives you nothing in return?

that is the reason why i dun use installment...i usually swipe it 1 shot...reason why i dun like installment it's because as though my salary been decrease for a period of time...

i wouldn't say having a credit card is a completely negative thing...if you have a good financial planning...and knows the benefit of the card...you can take advantage of it...and in return benefit from it...smile.gif

for the hospital case, albok...not everybody is like you where they have money in the savings...most of the ppl out there have family...and only earning only enough to survive...this is where credit card will come useful for them...

maybank debitcard(which now replace maybank atm card, unless u are under18) does give treaty points like credit card.

the way people use the card decides they are using it right or not. installment case, usually i make sure i saved enough money to actually purchase the thing, then i use installment, and i do have enough to 1 swipe, but why? it's like buying the thing in full, but paying them slowly. the cash in hand would really really come in handy in case of emergency. i only buy thing with the money i have. maybe some of those 'students' practise this method.

and ATM, withdrawal limit in most ATM per session is 1k (some 1.5k) and the daily withdrawal limit is standard 1k, u can increase it up to 3k from the ATM machince (some up to 5k) for saving accounts. current account has far higher daily limit.

some bank has the ATM service to let u use ur creditcard to withdraw money* as if u just swipe the card out for cash. aka, cash advance.

albnok & finejave. there is diff with CC and DC when in hospital... CC can just swipe within ur credit limit, while DC, if ur bank no cash, u cant use it at ALL. medical card, need time to have approval from the issuer, until then, u still have to pay the deposite, once the approval pass, they will tear the credit/debit card slip. it happened to me before smile.gif my DB no cash, the CC i have with me is not mine @.@,only got rm20 that time ngam ngam for registeration fee =.= sit outside wait for MC to approve before get to be admitted, lucky was small case for me...

having a creditcard is for emergency... and before u make any crazy purchase(anything more then 1k), best is talk to ur family (parent if u are not married even u are 30yo, spouse if u are married) that way, u able to control urself from buying something u dont need or cant pay.

i agree with u ieR...but...in the case for Zeiss...the 10X treat point is only valid for sony card...not any other cards out there...

for the installment wise...different ppl will have different perception on this issue...final word on credit card usage is...

"make sure you CONTROL the card, not the card CONTROLS you..."

reading all about the pros and cons of credit card, debit card, etc etc..
makes me proud of buying my lenses with cash even when i have credit card..
im proud because i pay cash for it, meaning i patiently wait for the right time and amount of money then get the lens..
meaning my poison shield is strong..

as for emergencies, yes the credit card is so valueably helpful..
but that's it for me.. i wont be buying things easily unless i have the money in hands..
this has nothing to do with how and what i buy..
its my preferences.. now THAT is something that anyone cant argue with me..
if still want to argue with me about my preferences then i slap with selipar jepun in the face ha ha ha

anyway.. hope to hear good news from u guys at uncle chin's tomorrow..

as wat Freddy San mentioned,CC could be a very usefull tool for emergencies.Example my fiance got apendix,i sent her to SMC (Sel Medical Center at Shah Alam),they nid my CC verification jus before could proceed for surgery :swt: really thank god i'm having them with me.

For me n my fiance,we would just use them for refill petrol.other than that not really using the CCs' unless buying something cost few ks' lah...

That's why like a member mentioned previously,a lot of youngsters got into trouble n got themselves declared for bancruptcy due to unable to pay those outstanding amt (they dunno CC's interest rate is higher than ah long tongue.gif)

My advice to those especially youngsters,CC is nice to hold, nice to swipe and the next thing would be pain to pay

Cheers~

Haha , thats why i personally prefer to use a Debit rather than Credit..
I normally will wait till I have enough cash then baru I buy .. parents never encourage credits =(

Ask you guys la , if one day you were purchasing something and your card doesn't work , would you just say sorry and walk away?

looked like im having somethin diff here..lol..
me n my gf use our cc all the time..but of coz..we dont buy anything we couldnt affort..but as long as we r buying stuff..dinning..etc etc..we would b using cc most of the time..and all my bills/insurance r directly deducted from my cc...

i also have this habit..i always limit myself to only 1 installment at anytime(of coz..its diff story when i have my car/house)..so i'll make sure i finish 1 installment b4 i move on to next exp toy..if i had to buy during the installment..i'd pay full cash/cc instead..
