QUOTE(Juztiny @ Mar 9 2010, 08:04 PM) Well..you don't need to bring to another vet yet. If you have some herba oil at home (i.e. Minyak Zaitun, Neem Oil or Euca??), you can apply on that bald spot first. Observed for few days and see any improvement or not, if getting worse, then only bring to vet. guinea pig is guinea pig, rabbits are rabbitsThis is the method I normally used on my guinea pig, if got fungal problem. Added on March 9, 2010, 8:06 pm Alam Damai vet. This vet I trusted him, he is very honest, and he is very experienced too, further more he won't simply slaughter people's neck. i suggest u don't do that for rabbits...if it's really fungal infection the vet will give u a proper anti fungal or disinfectant that is safe...if u have consult ur vet about it and it's not a problem then i think it should be fine |

QUOTE(ila88 @ Mar 9 2010, 08:32 PM) hi, can i ask some suggestion.. hey what are your bunnies gender?...some rabbits are solitary rabbits they prefer to be alone rather than mixing with other bunny..mostly this happen to bunnies older than 6 months when they start being territorial..even if they get a long now as they grow older they will develop this teritorial instinct later..some rabbits do get along well mostly with different genders..but we encourage each rabbit to have their own personal cage...this way u can monitor their diet and poo too.how the proper ways to do this get-to-know session? cause my rabbit not get along with my new rabbit i also try few times to let both out from cage together in same time, but ended wif i'm injured by protecting my rabbit from figting fyi, my rabbit is 3++month and others one is 1++month (is dis the cause of my prob?) thanks 1 month old rabbit?dont u think it is too young to take it home? |

QUOTE(Polaris13 @ Mar 10 2010, 12:46 AM) Hi, I just discovered this forum and I'm glad that there are so many avid rabbit lovers in Malaysia. Hi polaris welcome to the rabbit thread...nice issues u bring up to discuss here...But just a word of warning, be careful when mixing rabbits and guinea pigs together. Rabbits are a carrier of a disease (Bordatella bronchiseptica) which can cause a fatal respiratory disease to guinea pigs. And after reading through the forum, I realized that many of you all like to keep your rabbits in wire cages. Personally, I do not like wire cages very much for rabbits especially big sized rabbits that are fed large amount of pellets. They do develop sores at their hock known as pododermatitis/sore hock which can get very serious if not prevented. And the other thing I would like to comment that some of the owners do like to feed high sugar content fruits (apples, bananas and baby carrots) to their rabbits. I seriously do not recommend feeding these food items in large or frequent amounts. I do not have the time to explain why, but I shall when I have more free time A final word, remember that rabbits are prey species and they do very well to hide signs that they are sick. So a single day of inappetance and inactivity can be quite significant for a rabbit. Many times when you notice the signs, it can be the terminal stage of a chronic disease that you just noticed. That's all from me. Feel free to ask if there are any other questions. well i think oni juztiny has rabbits and gps..but they are not in the same cage..if the disease air bourne or close contact? wire cages are commonly used..some even put out door where the burrow hole to live..as for me i'm using the minimal 3ftx2ft wire cage...the floor we line it with the bathroom plastic mat(forgot wat's it is called) to prevent sore hocks.. the reccomended about of pellets we suggest is 1/4-1/3 cups only...we strongly agree that hay is the staple diet..so i dont get by what u mean by "Personally, I do not like wire cages very much for rabbits especially big sized rabbits that are fed large amount of pellets."why target big size rabbits only?what's with 'wire cage-big size rabbits-large amount of pellet'?? for ur high sugar content fruits-we advice is to give as treats..there is a list of food on the 1st page as guidelines..never hear anyone give banana yet her i myself dont..these fruits/vege are high carb food and excessive can cause uneven stool size and worse leads to diahrea..we do encourage to feed high fiber food especially hay.. |

QUOTE(nicoty_yne @ Mar 11 2010, 10:37 PM) All fluffies i call busuk... Even my bf i call him busuk too.. hehehehe kekeke..i also always wanna bring my bunnies home but i phobia already..but during the car ride she seemed to enjoy herself..climb on the chair and jump on our lap..she's not scared like hiding or shiverring..i think it's ok to take along but risk of stressing them out is possibleAdded on March 11, 2010, 10:47 pm I have experienced travel with 3 bunnies too.. cyberjaya-penang. we (my bf n i) make sure they feel like home : put them in the cage, provide litterbox, and boxes for them to hide. We wrapped the cage perimeters with towel, except front part of the cage where the aircond can blow to them (not too cold, not too hot). Keep them away from noise as much as can. Give treats before, during and after the journey.. some bunnies love to be pet.. so u can pet them to keep them calm. Shiro (my si busuk HL), also traveled from kl-penang. The couple who brought him to me also pat him along the journey. Make sure u give them a comfort environment as soon as u reach ur destiny, such as playpen etc. They will settledown themselves as long as u make sure they eat n drink like normal... Added on March 11, 2010, 10:50 pm The bunnies are ok.. except their mommy is too busy with work lately.. so not much petting session Added on March 11, 2010, 11:20 pmnico your picture..the rabbit sits on the couch but the human sits on the floor..hahahaha..rabbits are treated like royalty..keke This post has been edited by yueyi5730: Mar 11 2010, 11:20 PM |

QUOTE(Juztiny @ Mar 15 2010, 10:31 PM) Already died 6 rabbits so far.. alamak!!! nest time dont get underage kitts la...warn u many times alreadyExpensive experience read up on the basic needs.. QUOTE(Eli @ Mar 15 2010, 11:05 PM) Yikes yup this wat happens when buyers get underage animals..(i kept wanting to say underage joeys-these incidents happen too much in glider thread and recently in rabbit thread also..haiz)If I'm not mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that you are having problems with the young rabbits. You might want to reconsider the breeders that you're buying from. Added on March 15, 2010, 11:29 pm Do u live in klang valley? If you do, I believe pet lovers centre sells chubbypets hay. That's where I buy mine when I'm too lazy to wait for the delivery. QUOTE(sangterap @ Mar 15 2010, 11:37 PM) sweet? I don't think so. lucky? I really don't think so. 6 died so far isn't a good indication at all. you're right reading about dead rabbits is no fun at all...it's a disgrace..only good thing about it is hope this teaches a good lesson to all readers out there..Really need to rethink about breeder, age of rabbits, basic care skills and re-evaluate the number of rabbits kept. Sorry to be blunt but reading about dying rabbit is not fun at all... |

Sometime I buy the hay from Chew Thean Yeang pet shop but the quality of the hay is not that good bcoz inside their packing got bugs( I don't is it bugs or what but it is in brown color ). I prefer to give hay from chubbypetsgarden but is my mistake order very late. after that i buy other brands..rabbit tak mau makan..then bought chubbypets's hay..so big difference leh..open the hay packging the smell so nice.. |

well how old are your bunnies?
unless underage is different case..coz the stomach and gut not fully develop..those "ready to rehome" are fine on their own..that is also why pick rabbit right age is very important said many times already u can feed timothy even if they are still small.. give unlimited hay and pellets <6months after 6 months switch to timothy completely..limit pellets and alfafa |
