Was wondering if any of you could help me out with a problem? I think my rabbit has a wheezing or respritaroy problem at the momment and was wondering if any of you know of a good vet I can take him to? I went to the one in Lucky Garden and it wasn't really helpful....much appreciated if any of you could point out to me... St. Angel Animal Medical Centre (just behind tesco) No. 56, Jalan Bandar 13 47100 Puchong Tel: 03 5891 1884 (Dr. Irinda Toh) last time i asked they even have nebulizer for small animals..not sure the spelling....but it's kinda costly and have to do it frequently compare to oral medication..well i'm not the Dr to say what treatment u should get ,what i'm saying is they have the equipments. just bring your bunny for check up and see what the Dr say...update us ya |

QUOTE(KahVII @ Jan 21 2010, 01:17 AM) Thanks for the info yueyi well not many barnds offer good quality hay..some smells not so nice..some colour brownish, and some even too green due to colouring...depends on what brand u bought..oxbow pretty pricy for me so i op for chubby pet garden's summo can deliver to my house if i not free to go buy..hehehe...most of all my rabbit loves it..Also, Keiko doesn't really like the hay I bought from Pets Wonderland @ Mid Valley. Will definitely try buying the next batch from PLC ermmm is it 1st time introducing hay to ur bunny..u can give bit alfafa to mix with timothy hay to encourage ur bunny to eat...then later can serve whole timothy and give alfafa as treats only |

QUOTE(malaysiangroup @ Jan 22 2010, 12:17 AM) yueyi ,wats PLC abbrevation ???? PLC-pet lovers center...it's a petshop has many brances in KLone more doubt..... wot makes difference between a bunny and chincillas, why chincillas are sold for higher price ??? pls someone clarify well i wouldn't say higher price...some pure breed rabbit will fetch high price too coz of the features of the rabbits like some show quality that may be potential winner in competitions..but they will be great home pets too..who wouldn't be proud to have a Handsome/pretty bunny at home..if your talking about local rabbits u can see this case in dogs also(mongrels and pure breed pedigree dogs)..see the price difference chincilla is considered an exotic pet and is less common in malaysia so it's more expensive..chincilla in overseas is not sold so expensive like here in m'sia.but to import one is pricey..same goes to imported bunnies...imported parents is different case ya not considered as imported rabbit is it's born here |

QUOTE(sangterap @ Jan 22 2010, 10:44 AM) I must also add that Chinchilla is a totally different species from Rabbit although they share certain characteristics. The keyword here is RODENT (guinea pig/chinchilla) vs LAGOMORPHA (rabbit). They are from 2 different classes of animals. Go through wikipedia.org to know their classing in the animal kingdom and you will understand more. QUOTE(Chinchillas @ Jan 22 2010, 11:13 AM) To add on, chinchilla only give birth to 1-2 babies 1 time, and take about 4 months for the pregnancy, usually 1 baby. Chinchilla can only produce 1 time per year or 2 max, but rabbit produce faster in shorter time and have more babies. very true!! |

QUOTE(chrysseng @ Jan 25 2010, 11:38 PM) i understand some ppl are only interested in some special breed.. wonder why.. all are lovely. in my opinion, any rabbit, any breed will do.. as long as you like them, whatever breed doesn't matter.. Eli and me surely agree with u..i dun even know what breed is our Bit Bit, my brother rescued him from a rabbit meat farm 8yrs ago when my bro went to the farm to do some m&e works ... but we all love him nevertheless.. Added on January 26, 2010, 8:14 amhow ever i'm just not satisfied that some people tend to get their rabbits from seller who claim to be pure breeds and pay a high price for the bunny.what i'm saying is don't get con by these seller or else your just encouraging them more..do your own research and make right choices if u are opting for pure breeds.however if one really like the bunny and got his/her love at first sight i don't think anyone has the right to stop him/her from buying the bunny.. Added on January 26, 2010, 8:15 amchrysseng i like your profile picture..is that bitbit?she has a nice chincilla colour This post has been edited by yueyi5730: Jan 26 2010, 08:15 AM |

I know that the hay will need to change to timothy. But my concern here is for the pallet, i'm feeding her now with show rabbit feed that from Beh & Yo. Can i continue with it or i should change?? Welcome Junid
I'm a student myself with pets..yea money is a issue but i want what's best for them...if u are changing pallets don't get fooled by some labeled 'premium pellets' but contains grains with multiple colours which looks more like hamster food ... |

QUOTE(Junid @ Jan 29 2010, 08:24 PM) RM21.50 , i think it's almost the same with show rabbit feed price. =) hagen is half the price of the show rabbit feed...u didn't account for the weight of packaging...hehe Hmm , how to toilet train bunnies eh? I tried training them but looks like the poop coming out everytime they hop here and there. show rabbit feed RM22.90 (1.2kg) hagen RM21.50(2.26kg) Added on January 30, 2010, 12:02 amtoilet training takes some time...they then to pee and poo else where to mark their territory so non neutered rabbits are bit hard to train if u have a few together..i have single rabbit so she's ok..before this other 2 rabbits were with me also she pee and poo else where other then her litter box This post has been edited by yueyi5730: Jan 30 2010, 12:02 AM |

not behaving well means???different ppl have different opinion on "not behaving" @junid all your bunnies like that? Well in general, different bunnies have different characteristics..just like us humans...some don't like to be picked up..or maybe they don't like the way u carry or hold her... or either they are not used to human touch...maybe not used to the person...can be u did something that made it afraid so it relates to being touched/carried... well just like any animals, rabbits need to bond with their owners too..if your rabbits is kicking..u can try putting her on your chest while u are sitting down..the legs are against your tummy or chest while u support her bottom with one hand..with the other hand u stroke her head and scratch behind the ears..hope this technique helps |

wahh..so teruk meh the result..all the hair drop off...dunno what chemicals they use for the cheap ones..so scary.. yup if u let the rabbit roam free they will know which favourite spot to take naps and u can see them binky here and there for no reason..just showing that they are happy..my rabbit is roaming about my apartment..she will go back to her cage herself sometimes for food..but at night i keep her in the cage when i sleep as for the toilet..u just pick the corner where they normally pee and poo and put a litter box there with a few poo to show what is the use of the litter pan...they will eventually know how to use it |

QUOTE(Junid @ Jan 30 2010, 11:05 PM) when i picked up my rabbits , they kicked me =( well if you want to avoid unplan breeding then u should NOT put your male and female rabbits together.tot u let them out individually?maybe the method you said will work , i'll try it later on. just now i let bobby roam freely around the house with baby. and let blackie play around herself in the playpen. seems that bobby is too 'desperate' to mate with baby. what should i do? let them mate or... haha Added on January 31, 2010, 11:21 am QUOTE(xhuggybearx @ Jan 30 2010, 09:47 PM) oh i wrote not because my bunny is not well behave or something.. infact i let them roam freely.. its just that i thought what if u put my bunny in a cage at most of the time.. do they well behave/in a gud manner or will they be more 'fierce'..yala because of i locked them in cage all the time.. i thought of maybe they will be more tension..cannot go around and so on.. well my bunny is okay..i dunt have a problem with them and they also dunt give any problem to me.. its just that one of my thought..thats all.. im tryin to see in a different perspective.. My rabbit roam freely most of the time and she is also very fierce and show temper stump on the ground when i scold her...but when she want ppl to sayang she will come manja manja jump on my lap for me to pet and will come to me for treats..so basically it's their own behavior that determine their characters. bunnies need exercise and u can't put a hamster wheel for a rabbit..i don't think such thing exist also..so best if got a wide space for them to run about.. QUOTE(fyire @ Feb 1 2010, 03:58 PM) I started with those cages before, and what I can say is that it only lasts around 2.5 years++. While they won't be able to chew through metal, they can chew through the coating of the metal, and it'll start rusting within a few months. Fast forward 2 years later, and the exposed metal will start rusting through (especially the bottom bars) oh izit??what cages do u use now?stainless steal ones??i saw some in ace hardware..my bunny don't chew the bars..hehe..or should i say she has not develope that habit yet..her fav hobby is to play with the cat balls with the bells inside |
