I plan to buy Amplifier or AV Receiver to connect to my R501. Any recommendation? is it to power to use amplifier to play my R501? I want to play DTS 5.1 channel movie from my AC Ryan PlayOn HD. Thanks.

hey guys,

So how this speaker performance compare to logitech x540.
I going to get 1 next week. Now considering between this 2.
I use for majorly everything. Gaming, xbox, Music, Video.
Last year I just sell of my aego-m. Feel that 2.1 don't really entertain me that much altough it sound sweet.

i like my R501. only one complaint, less deep bass in music. in movies its nice already. so finally i tweaked with channel mixer in foobar everything is right. i think its one of the best for the price, since the klipsch is not around.

hey guys. i am sad 2 say that i b leaveing the R501 camp n upgrade 2 S730. i know it sounds nuts 2 transition from 5.1 to 2.1. since i b moving out 2 another house next week where the room is smaller than my ex house, i dont c the point of fixing 5.1 again. hence thats y i switch back to 2.1. so TS can remove my name? its been great 6 years this speaker has served me a lot but then its time 2 say goodbye.

wah bro , since when u bought S730 ? gonna go play play u will amazed by the S730 when u compare it to ur R501

omg, can every1 help me .... i juz bought R501 , and i found that juz got 2 speaker got sound, other 3 speaker dun have sound... ...

im using Laptop bought from last year... .. anyidea ?

Should i buy any thing ? such as soundcard? is there External soundcard avaliable ?

Try to connect the audio jack to input 1 or 2, if i m not mistaken 4 channel will work once u connect the audio output to it. If u connect to the green port at the back of the R501, only 2.1 sound.

For fully utilize the system i will recom u buy a 5.1 external sound card.

Mr edifier, i have try , but its is fail to .. ..i use 1 of my audio cable (3.5 to 3.5) plug in to input 1 or input 2 , there juz front left and right appear sound, 2.1 onli , even dont have 4.1 as you say , kindly advise.. thanks~

I just bought the r501.. wicked sound.. setup was extremely easy..

but....

I have a problem and I dont know you guys experiencing the same thing or not.

My front left speaker doesnt seem to work.. I have switched speakers and cables.. still the same.. played with everything and all I get is my center and two rear speakers replacing my left speaker but my left speaker remains quiet.. reset everything back and try again but this time the left speaker has a very soft volume.. I tried balancing out and puting it max to my left speaker only.. can.. but very soft.. however my right front has no sound..

anyone can help? kinda heavy to bring back to the shop to claim warranty or test it.. 14kg!
