QUOTE(Spawnster @ Dec 28 2009, 10:29 PM) really felt sorry for those who booked 2.0. i also just received the news today while servicing my forte from the service manager. he also said 2.0 delay until mid of 2010. i didn't believe him at 1st but after reading today's post It seems like i have a good reason to make a conclusion after all. |

QUOTE(4te @ Dec 29 2009, 09:16 AM) Talking about deffect ... I experience the following major problem yesterday after work and this morning 4te,When i went in the car, closed the door and stepped on the break and pressed the start button, all the electronics were cut off. No horn, headlights, meters/LCD ... all not working, like the battery is out and the engine won't start I try to slot the remote in the slot below the start button, and it didn't work. I opened the door and closed it (seems like the eletronics came back whenever i opened and closed the door) and tried to start a few times (its like when the car doesn't have enough battery, it starts half way and die off) and finally got it started after 4 - 5 times. When my car finally started, the time and radio channels that i have set are all gone So sad to see this happened.. you must be very disappointed when these happen especially if someone actually there and say "See, i told you don't buy Korean car". I suggest you to visit the SC immediately and request them to run diagnostic for you ( if they are such thing ). Hopefully the clever designer has a built in fault / error logging mechanism to track what had happened which are stored different from the main battery powered ( Normally that would be on button cell powered NVRam ). Or at least have them check for the battery's condition. guess you are very down seeing what happening and for the next few days or weeks, you are keeping your finger cross that you car will starts every time you starting it.. sien. a new phobia with the new car after this. And don't forget to updates this to the myForte problem discussion and also post this to KM FB.. ( if you don't mind telling people what you experienced.. as it is kind of shame to experience that ) This post has been edited by bbear: Dec 29 2009, 09:23 AM |

QUOTE(yhlee12 @ Dec 29 2009, 09:56 AM) 2 times straight? that's a bad one! Actually I drove some DRL enabled cars back to the States, when set to Auto.. most of the time the Headlight will be switched on even on bright sunny day. But that is DRL and I am not sure if the auto headlight function should acts like a DRL or not.sounds like the smart key didn't communicate / line up well with the electronics in the car. btw i don't use the auto headlight function. tried it once, but it came on quite early. it was drizzling tat time but all other cars around me didn't switch on their head lights so eventually i turned off the lights manually This post has been edited by bbear: Dec 29 2009, 09:59 AM |

I have a funny suggestion that may works to draw Naza's HQ or Kia's HQ attentions but will need a lot of works and efforts.
Get around more than 10 or 20 who like OMG's case.. booked early, promised with something but no car for 1.6 + 2.0SX that kept been given excuses on no car delivery. Sign the Petitions and then go and meet up with MCA's Datuk Michael Chong and log the complaints saying how Naza treating customers and demanding a proper explanations. That will sure draws attentions from all the press and Naza Ok ok.. I think too much liao. and somemore.. not my business anymore |

QUOTE(4te @ Dec 29 2009, 09:24 PM) May car died after i reached home from work ... wanted to go out to meet a friend and realised that keyless entry wasn't working (tried both smart keys) and the button on the smart key didn't work also!!! I have to use the key to open the door and pressing on the start button until 4th/5th time and it started ... but no mood to go out anymore!!! Bro Teh,Was supposed to fetch my friend with my new car, but have to cancel the appointment cos the so called new car is having problem!!! ... really potong stim again!!! I just saw this.. and finally understand what you meant in your message. Really potong stim with these happening lah. Looks like they belanja you Ice Lemon Tea to thank you for the heroic action. Hopes all the problem can be resolve sooner. I recommending you to visit the SC tomorrow and not wait until Saturday. You may want to driving around during long weekend and best to get it done as soon as possible. Saturday is a short day and they may not able to do anything. By the way... do you have access to multimeter ? Measure the battery voltage.. without car running and with car running.. that will at least give you an idea if your alternator / charger is working properly... normal car's battery voltage should be at least 14.2V under charging. Let me know if you need any helps or need my multimeter. |

QUOTE(4te @ Dec 29 2009, 10:11 PM) Thanks guys and Bro Lee for offering ur help with the multimeter, I will go to SC tomorrow morning (hopefully I can start my car then) ... just now after work, i thought since the engine can be started, should be no problem and can wait till Saturday, but now u guys are right, better go tmr morning. I am not going to scold the SC cos definitely not their fault but going to call up careline for sure you are welcome... yet, i haven't able to help out with anything... but still let me know if you have anything else that i can help out.Imagine this, my manager was asking me "... sure you want to get another Kia ah?" ... tmr when i tell him that i am taking half day off to fix my new Kia, he sure says "see blah blah blah ..." sigh ... was telling a lot of people that Forte is a good car and value for money ... i will feel like slapping myself tmr when i see them I have just found out the emails of Kia Korea, if the SC cannot fix this problem tmr, I am going to email NAZA and Kia Korea for sure |

QUOTE(sugen @ Dec 30 2009, 12:01 AM) I decided to give Kia a chance but they abandon me and I gave up on them today and canceled my booking. For those looking for Forte 1.6. Naza-Kia has updated their price list to have 3 models for 1.6 now. Prices below are OTR - 1.6EX : 75,800.00 - 1.6SX : 81,800.00 - 1.6SX-D : 86,800.00 The 1.6EX and 1.6SX are as what we seen last time.. 1.6SX-D ( I am guessing - D = Deluxe ) On the price list, stating Accessories Package 1) Leather Seat 2) Door Protector Visor 3) " Exclusive Stylish Aeroparts " ( Front, Rear, Side Skirting & Rear Spoiler ) Now, I started to heard some current 1.6SX cursing that they got the car earlier. QUOTE(chaostan @ Dec 30 2009, 12:13 AM) I will still HOLD ON till mid Jan and from there will see how...and now Peugeot TURBO on my list..plan to visit SA Peugeot soon and see any availability of TURBO which i assume it's also hot demand now.. Pug 308 THP has plenty of ready stocks.. waiting time / OTR in 2 weeks time if confirm.. that is what my SA told me. Going to visit my SA tomorrow to my last test drive and hopefully, finalize the deal. ( By the way.. there are some discussion on whether it is true that there is RM3k/RM5k increase on 1st Jan for all Pug... it may be rumors to secure Dec sales.. and it may not ) |

QUOTE(4te @ Dec 30 2009, 10:26 AM) Went to KIA JnS SC (Sungai Pinang) first thing in the morning and i was so relief that it was just the battery connector (negative) loose that was causing the problem. The service at JnS was really good (as recommended by many in Penang) and the boss (Steven) greeted me and had a chat with Lee and I. I actually sms Steven last night around 10PM to ask about the office hour and surprisingly he called back and asked me not to jump start if the battery isn't working the next day (i noted this in the user manual as well, NEVER jump start a Forte). The service provided by JnS SC is among the best if not THE BEST in Penang Hopes you are not thinking that I am stalking on your Forte Very nice meeting you Brother Lee and your wife Was curious on the "Nissan" on your car though |

QUOTE(twtang @ Dec 30 2009, 04:48 PM) Some technical question here, when I think about + - gear. Forte has a very long 2nd gear which can pull all the way to more than 100km/h. Just treats it as engine braking but of cause.. not many people favorable with Engine braking.. they sayang their Engine and Gearbox a lot.Say: You are at about 100km/h on auto mode, and you feel to have more torque power, then you shift it to shiftronic and reduce it to 3rd gear, will this damage your gearbox? Ok, how about 100km/h you reduce it to 2nd gear? Scary right? |

Phelix, haha... but of course.. after warm up. is pretty powerful though... if u willing to rev it up. if you want to enjoy fully on your power... do the gear shift at its maximum torque RPM... you will enjoy the ummph for sure... i think is 4200rpm for max torque on the 1.6 Gamma. |

I got to resist visiting this thread anymore before I got regret canceling my booking. Have been visiting this thread since pre-V1, V1 and now V2.. a daily routine to visit at least 20 to 30 times for many weeks as don't want to stuck with many update pages just over few hours.
Its my pleasures to meet up with some of the great people here and will give you guys a ping if I travel down to KL.. to molest all your Forte since I didn't get to own one |

Added on December 30, 2009, 7:32 pm QUOTE(victoryong @ Dec 30 2009, 07:26 PM) Spoken to Jalan Cheras SC yesterday. According to them, they are doing some research on the issue, hope to have a solution by Jan or Feb. Coz at the moment, they have received more than 10 formal complain of headlight condensation. So now waiting for them to come back with solution. Sealing unproperly will cause heat lamp overheated.. be extra cautious trying to DIY.To be frank, in Singapore, Kia said they won't fixed the issue as this is norm, C&C has a memo from Kia. Hope they won't say the same to Malaysia. Well.. if you wanna seal it yourself.. not too sure whether this will void any warranty.. This post has been edited by bbear: Dec 30 2009, 07:32 PM |
