QUOTE(4te @ Jan 5 2010, 08:28 PM)
Actually the stock tint does a good job during normal day with clouds ... but on a clear sky with full blast of sun day, quite hot i would say as compared to my gf's Latio with 3M tint but i feel around 30% better than my Spectra without any tint.

So the best thing to do before going for tinting is to test it for 2 weeks, if you are ok with the stock tint, then save the $ for tinting and spend on other stuff  icon_rolleyes.gif

If there is a TT for Penang members, I would like to do a test on tinting ... compare the tint quality by doing:

1. set the aircon to auto, no outside air circulation and 24 degree (so the test doesn't take too long)
2. park 3 Fortes with different tint (one should be with only the stock tint) under direct hot sun for an hour or two
3. start engine and on the auto aircon at the same time for all 3 Fortes
4. Record the time it takes for the aircon to reduce to 6 bars, 3 bars and 1 bar

Then we can have the true result of the stock tinting and other branded tinting  icon_rolleyes.gif

Seems like a few are interested to test too ... at least we can know whether the $$$ spent on tinting is worth it or not ma ... maybe you guys from KL can perform the test cos more cars and can get the matching colour to test biggrin.gif

They probably changed the strategies now. Tell you a fixed long duration to wait.. so that no more empty promises / uncertain answers. And if they can deliver earlier.. the customers will be very damn happy..

Imagine, you set the expectation to wait for 3 months but suddenly after 2 weeks, they ask you to visit the dealers/branches to settle the purchases stuffs. you will be very happy.

But this will be bad for those that in the decision whether to wait or cancel.. as to them, another 3 months probably are too long when they started to wait since Nov.

I called my KIA's SA over the lunch, asking him any updates as he asked me to wait for another week last week when I went to submit my cancellation request. He said nothing new since he last check with HQ and he will call me once my cheque for the refund is ready to be picked up.

Hi, bro ,what is the good reason that u wrote in for ur cancellation ? coz i heard no any refund for the booking !
Is that true?.. unsure.gif
*
My reasons were
- SA previously mentioned since I placed booking without seeing / tested the real car, I can cancel anytime I want even if the car is here for me to test and I don't like after testing.
- SA / Nasim does not able to address me when I can have a car available for delivery even an estimated month.
- Lastly, in my booking form, SA has written "Booking fees are refundable upon cancellation request" when I placed my booking. ( My booking is with Dealer, not Branch )
- I have asked Careline, they said Naza will refund booking fees if the reason of cancellation was due to their problem.

*
Looks like you are really desperate on your 2.0.. especially you are probably top 3 in the prebook list for that... wonder what I need to do if you returns with a positive news.

Aiyoh, why dont come to Penang  cry.gif  ... Penang has none at the moment and its a very good opportunity for Mr Choong (if you are readying  biggrin.gif )

BTW, after "glowing" are we allowed to use soap (even if it is not required) to wash the car? will the soap affect the coating?
*
As far as I known.... Mr. Choong interested with Penang's business and looking for business partner. Those that are with $$ and interest should meet up with him.

It is like you shouldn't compare A Cawan with B Cawan, C Cawan and so on.. many people like C but some like B or D.. I am going to D.. so, FC not good.. Oh.. typo, i meant Segment, not Cawan whistling.gif .

I think can probably expect the parts and labors to be quite similar to maintaining a Hyundai X20

History
- Daily task reporting in LYN & AW daily following news on Forte for weeks.
- Check out the Forte 1 day before Launching at the showroom
- Booked the 2.0SX on the Launching Day paying RM2000 booking fees, SA saying car will be available in December.
- Overjoyed that its finally here and I am the 2nd person booking in that dealer branch meant when they have the car with matching color.. I am the first / second to get it.
- Followed by anxious and frustration for the next 1 month of wait, call, disappointment, uncertainty... and depress. ( I am the type of person that do not like to wait long for things that I am buying )
- Finally decided to cancel the booking on Dec 23rd after SA and Carelines telling no 2.0SX in coming 6 months time.
- followed by mixed feeling after cancellation for the whole week especially numerous rumors / sources stating starts delivery in Jan 2010, car is at PK.. and also.. hopes as SA promised as long as I didn't collect my refund check, I can still get the car when they are available for delivery.

5 mins ago, my phone rang and for the first time, I saw my SA's name appear on the caller ID ... what came across my mind is the car is Here !!. And from the phone.. he is telling me that I can come and collect now. When I asked him collect car ? he said.. nope, your refundable booking fees cheque is ready.

So.... Officially Bye Bye to Forte. I shall missed you especially when I bump onto one on the road, in the parking lot in future thinking.. I am that close to own one myself.

Yes,his replacement car is D-segment. Forte 2.0 C-segment.
In terms of engine both 2000cc, D-segment bigger size & heavier.
Won't that affect the car performance?
Does it mean Forte2.0 would be more powerful ? whistling.gif

Previously I like to own a D-segment if I can afford it.
Now, I'd prefer to have C-segment .the size is just nice, not too big not too small as mine is just small family.
*
You are very right, the Forte 2.0 will be more powerful for the power to weight ratio.. I am also small family of 2 only tongue.gif

aiyo bro~ after this i think u'll seldom check out forte forum... good luck to you~!
and do feel free to find me chat chat in MSN.. hehe
yes.. that's the only way.. but don't forget our gov will set quota too... unless ur wife only drive to work.. or else most properly the quota won't able feed both of u..
then it makes family argument.. then family violent... then blame gov again... wahaha.

I am still will hang around for a while lah.. very hard to suddenly stop visiting this after it became a daily routine .. this Thread is like Drugs that made me addicted since weeks ago. Gov already tax so high on high income ( Based on Tax table ).. now they want to increase more ... sad.

Even we drive different cars.. still can hang out when got chances.

Really interested to know how they going to implements the Subsidies control..

Guys,
When you start your car in the morning, does the exhaust emit excessive white smoke? Mine does. It'll go away after driving for some time.
In FB, they say it's water vapor.
*
whiteforte,

White Smoke - Burning Water Vapor - Normal
Blue Smoke - Burning Petrol - In Carburetor time, bad fuel mixtures.. in EFI world.. ECU Crazy ?
Black Smoke - Burning Engine Oil - BIG Problem !

chin_koon,

What are you trying to do actually hmm.gif

QUOTE(xIceLemonTeax @ Jan 8 2010, 11:54 PM)
i already got the LOU and yet the SA want me to pay the d/payment on Monday so I can get the car by Thursday. He said without the downpayment, the company cannot release the car for registration. I have to pay them first then he will go n register my car. I just worried if i pay the d/payment first then they say no car la, have to wait la.  so how ?
*
IceLemonTea,

Please check very clearly if the car is really there. The only car left with stock is the 1.6EX where there are no 1.6SX or 2.0SX available that could be delivered in a week. Check with Careline if it is true that you have been allocated a car and pending for payment.

Give your details and also information of the branch, the name of the SA if careline tell you it is impossible to have a car delivery. Do take notes that those whom placed booking in November, December never get their car where some already paid full down payment weeks ago and even have to complaint all the way to Naza's HQ but yet no car for them. So, what is so special about your SA / Branch that they have a car for you ( unless is a 1.6EX which some branches really have ready stocks )

Good luck.
