Actually the stock tint does a good job during normal day with clouds ... but on a clear sky with full blast of sun day, quite hot i would say as compared to my gf's Latio with 3M tint but i feel around 30% better than my Spectra without any tint.
So the best thing to do before going for tinting is to test it for 2 weeks, if you are ok with the stock tint, then save the $ for tinting and spend on other stuff
If there is a TT for Penang members, I would like to do a test on tinting ... compare the tint quality by doing:
1. set the aircon to auto, no outside air circulation and 24 degree (so the test doesn't take too long)
2. park 3 Fortes with different tint (one should be with only the stock tint) under direct hot sun for an hour or two
3. start engine and on the auto aircon at the same time for all 3 Fortes
4. Record the time it takes for the aircon to reduce to 6 bars, 3 bars and 1 bar
Then we can have the true result of the stock tinting and other branded tinting
