Tested the PB13U today for the 1st time. What can I say that has not been said yet?
Bass is what u want, so u get. Forget the Buttkicker if u want tactile sensation! Get a PB13U man.
Seriously, this is one beast. By size, sheer power and the amount of air it pushes. I also ran some curves to test AS-EQ1's strengths at htkaki's pad.
HTkaki has a nightmare of a room for audio and REW showed them. REW also showed how effectively the AS-EQ1 dealt with it. Great unit.
I'm sure someone will ask how the PB13U compares to the other beast. This is my assesment.
One is an earthquake and the other is a tsunami....They have different characteristics yet both excel in different areas. The PB13U does the low rumblings with a lot of air being moved. The Submersive does it as well with the opposing 15in drivers, albeit in its own way. The amount of the bass is the same, the feeling derived is different. It depends on what u r looking for. The Seaton I tested still had a lot in it and the pad was restricting it. Same thing I felt with the SVS as well.
Bass freaks shd give the the PB13U an audition since u can actually audition it. If u r looking for pure clean bass, a Seaton might be ur cup of tea and u shd make friends with ron before deciding. They both achieve owner satisfaction, however they take different approaches.
The AS-EQ1 is a must have for those with bad room. htkaki's pad would have been way too boomy and un-tenable were it not for the AS-EQ1.
I will try to post the curves this weekend.
BTW - htkaki, thanks for hosting me. Say thanks to Mr. Tan as well. We need to see if he manages to find the sweet spot in his system.

Near identical with PB edges PC marginally esp at abt 20Hz. Apart form that, only footprint is different. This post has been edited by htkaki: Jan 7 2010, 11:05 PM

Guys,
I have to apologize for not posting the charts. My bad luck, I made an error when saving the files correctly after htkaki, Mr. Tan and myself looked at them. I will have to re-do the measurements the next time I am there. I'm sorry.

I watched District 9 in the evening. The MJ's This Is It trailer is amazing. The AQ is a blast. Can feel the power of the concert. Really shifting massive air with 'Beat It'. I bet the BD would be awesome!
