Lady luck did abandon us this time, haha. 2 blatant penalties go unnoticed, torres missed a glorious chance, an own goal, and arshavin again laugh.gif

there was little composure from rafa's football.
it s all about pressing, pressuring with / without a ball, every players needs to be highly discipline & tactical. machine like? too robust.
not to mention his sometime overcautious approach.

in the primeirship every team is playing high tempo, little compose..except a couple good teams. it s a machine collide machine every f***in week.

a team who can really balance between passing, attacking, high-slow tempo, great composure, good defense will be successful.

i think it is not wise to call our player deadwoods or shit.Everyone of them play important role for the club and I think all of them love liverpool football club as much as we do.I am agree players didnt really play well yesterday but I know they are trying their best yesterday.

truth is we deserve what effort we put in on the field. A lost is a lost. no point blame ref or rant abt missed chances. we lost because we didn't score... period but i believe this is the time to band to together. B**** all you want cause we all want to win badly but stay close in the heart.

To be honest. Rafa did make sense tactically this time around. He brought on attacking players.
Johnson was playing like shite even with his runs down the wing. Torres isnt match-fit or maybe something else is bothering him. Gerrard was doing all he can. Lucas and Mascherano as well. Agger was solid and Carragher was great in marking Arshavin till his break-through.(Note that Johnson was suppose to defend Arshavin in the 2nd goal)
Our two wingers and 2 full-backs wasnt up to par.
Reina should be more brave in catching aerial balls.
Rafa is far from being the main culprit for our lost here.

Current problem is not tactic wise, it is players's morale, confidence and determination, may be fitness and injury as well.

Even you have the best players, without morale and confidence won't win you games.

Manager can put up the best tactic or strategy, but of players lack of motivation, it won't have any good performance on the pitch.

Current squad might not the best and able to challenge the title, but not the like win 2 or 3 matches out of 13 or 14 matches.

Can't always blame no $$, no best players (yes, it could be the situation) but Aston Villla even has lesser money and smaller squad, but players seems very motivated and able to play some good fluent football while Liverpool players' on paper is better than them, but cannot play good football and players always with sicknote.

If finish 7, then next year Liverpool will have problem to attract players in the transfer market as well, not to mention cannot fight with other in term of $$.

If not put up a string of consecutive win for the next few matches (by January), I forsee the season has virtually ended for Liverpool. sweat.gif

It just felt like the whole team was pushing like mad in the first half but after the second half, Arsenal woke up while our lads just fading out. The own goal just totally deflated Glen in my opinion.

Do hope the team wake up soon, it is just heart-breaking seeing how we play now when we all know that we can do way better than this.

I was actually pretty optimistic when I got up in the morning on Sunday. I mean we had Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres fit again, not to mention a healthy looking Aquilani who to my surprise started from the bench. We were also playing at Anfield.

We started off really well, repelling anything that came forward, keeping Arsenal on their heels each time we advanced. The players looked up for it, pressuring and snapping at anyone not in red whenever thay had the ball. This is it I thought! This is the way we should be playing! It was proven last season that when we took the game to other sides, even the great European teams cringe with fear.

Alas, our second half performances reinforced the stereotype that while we play good football after going behind, we often fall back into a false sense of security after going ahead. Forget that we have a stonewall penalty disallowed by a certain Howard Webb who like our players, seems to be off the pace this season. Forget that we had the lion's share of possession in the first half. In reality, our over reliance on Fernando Torres stood out like a sore thumb again. Our no.9 has clearly not regained his match fitness and sharpness. Arsenal came back with aplomb in the 2nd half, despite no change in personal. In fact, they ended the game with more possession than us. What happened? In the postmatch interview, both Fabregas and Vermaelen attributed it to the hair dryer treatment they received from Wenger at halftime. If this is true, it just comes to show how tactical know-how isn't what gives you the edge over relatively similar astute opponent. Drive and determination gives you that little bit extra you need, as we clearly lacked that in the 2nd half. Perhaps Rafa should start throwing his shoe about the dressing room more. What I find most distressing is that Almunia was a relative spectator the entire 2nd half as he didn't have a single save to make.

Yes, Howard Webb had a really poor game but I urge everyone to look beyond that, and at the bigger picture. I don't pretend to know what the solution is but something has to be done if we are to finish in the top four. The way we are playing, I don't see us finishing in the top 6 even, considering the likes of City, Villa and Spurs seemed to have improved over last season. This to me is a very real and big concern. Something that blind faith alone will not mend. Do we need more players? Do we need new owners? A new manager? I don't know. All I know is that we aren't playing with a positive vibe and this needs to be addressed.

we were great in the 1st half n managed to get 1 goal...

2nd half, we could blame our luck 4 what happened, own goal n out of nowhere shoot made us trailing 1 goal down,

anyway all of that not frustrated enough, what frustrated me is that when we trying to chasing the game why on earth didnt we playing possession football, we kept giving the ball to cara n agger to loop ball forward doh.gif why the midfielder kept flicking the ball to the arsenal player n gave away possession when we desperately needed to find equalizer?..is that order came from rafa?...

0 shot on target in the 2nd half tell u all the story..

the team did (sit back after a lead) a couple of times this season and end up either draw or lose. andy gray (the bias twat) did mentioned this during the game and it is true. we are coming back to GH era where 1 goal is good enough and try as hard to protect. it's ok if the back 4 are solid but it ain't.

early in the season i've said i believe rafa can bring home the title but based on last few games.. i dont believe it anymore. the entertaining football that the team played last season are gone. yes, we lost key players in the summer and some injured but it's rafa's fault for not having a good backup. look at mu and arse, the have as many injured players as liverpool but they managed to stay consistent with the subs. oh did u guys looks at the sub yesterday, 4 out of 6 is defensive. entertaining innit?

i'd care less if liverpool don't win anything this season as long as we mount a decent challenge.
