I don't think its true about the battery heat up on N1. I do thrust htc's hardware, and there still no bad comment about it till now that related to battery explode up in htc phones. So now I just stand with my thought not to belive it.

Oh yeah..I just got a point to share with you guys..There is one thing I dont like about the GMaps on Hero but I wish to see in the Nexus One particularly Android 2.1.

When you add a route and are following it with GPS, when you go off the course, it does not recalculate the route for me..It expects me to be on the track again somehow..Some streets in Malaysia are changed and not updated in the maps..it can give me a real hard time in those times..I hope they will have the route recalculation in the Nexus One at least..

This will be proved in two more days tera..haha..We don't always have to trust outside sources..Seeing is believing..We have our own community now and we are going to have our guinea pig coming soon already..I decided to call my Nexus One "Guinea" already..lol..

I think I should put up a list of bugs and problems the N1 is having D:

Looking over the N1's forums on google, theres a lot of people having problems with the touchscreen. Like hitting a spot on the middle of the screen but the phone registers it as bottom of the screen!

Users seems to have fixed it by turning it off and turning it on again, but that sounds troublesome. Some also reported that it messes up that way if you are touching the metal ring at the back of the phone.

Might wanna test that out too Shahz laugh.gif

That would be great..I'd appreciate if you could make a list of problems available and I will test it out in my testing post when the phone arrives..I can see that the post will be VERY long indeed..I will make a special section for LYN bugchallenge.. biggrin.gif I promise I will not be biased and whatever will be faulty will be written as it is..I want you guys to get an actual overview before you guys spend thousands of cash on this baby smile.gif

The screen is rather huge (even larger than iphone) and if even slight part of the skin is touching the screen (even the black borders), it will affect the touch..The hardware that is used for touch sensitivity is actually a PCB board with several metal nodes on it..It is logical that if they touch the camera ring at the back (considering its metal), the touch will be affected..But if this happens, than it really sucks..I might as well have a camera embedded inside the cover like the Hero if thats the case.. sad.gif

Really? But when I'm using google map navigate it do recalculate the route for me when I go off decided route by navigate map. Maybe u go sumwhere that only 1 route can be calculated. What device u use when using google map? It works 100% fine with new cyanmod currently I'm using now.

Theres a thread on positive experiences on the N1. Kinda strange considering its a tech suppport forum on google. But nice to read anyway and hear the good stuff on the n1.

http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Goog...4ed45&hl=en#all

Currently my only concern is the heating up during the charge. And how hot it gets.
Since the phone just about pretty much requires a daily charge. Thats a lotta times the phone will be in a hot state.

Hmm, I guess I could quickly put up a quick one and add whatever people would like to see being tested.

But I think we prolly shouldn't go overboard on the testing. It is your phone after all, though its 'guinea' we shouldn't totally abuse it tongue.gif

Heres what I've come up with so far. Feel free to let me know what you would like to have tested out. Or copy and paste the list and just add your own entry.

This is a list compiled to confirm on rumors over the Nexus One. This is NOT a review of any sort. And no phone is perfect. Plus there are conflicting reports on these rumors, so please do not draw conclusions.

• Will get hot from extensive use with charger on and battery removed (If possible)
• Touchscreen malfunction while touching metal ring at back of phone
• SatNav navigation in Malaysia (supposedly theres a work around)
• Trackball sensitivity
• VOIP calls quality (3G and wifi)
• Quality and sound volume of speakers on handsfree calls and music (apparently too much treble and very soft)
• Quality of Bluetooth connectivity
• 3G speed and quality (apparently likes to get out of 3G and switch to EDGE)

On an update, I've read that people getting calls from users of the N1 are impressed with the call quality. However users of the N1 aren't too impressed with the sound quality coming out of the N1, both from speakers and headsets. Apparently its too tinny and soft.

For SatNav, there is a hacked version that can be used at Malaysia: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...=navigation+usa

I guess it is a good idea too to test the 3g reliability and speed of nexus one as people are facing 3g connectivity issue on the T-Mobile network.

Yeah its on the Nexus One itself.

Apparently when using the phone speakers in general or using the headset, the sound quality is supposedly not very good.

Here is the thread where people are reporting bout it, if you would like to read more.

Ah! Thanks for the hacked version, but am still curious bout the phone's default capabilities. With Gmap updated to 3.3 of course, or whatever the latest is. But good to know theres a way around it.

Hmm, 3G reliability I'm guessing is the phone itself, since I'm getting reports from UK and SG too that 3G is ganked. So I was kinda thinking that all 3G related tests would be unreliable and inaccurate at that point. But I'll add it.
