Bryant, I can only congratulate you for the wonderful decision you have made! welcome to the N1 family too! That was the only base i used to make up my mind when ordering my nexus one too smile.gif i will be reviewing the nexus one when it reaches me tomorrow. and i will be very hard on it. I will give as many negative points possible too. But after that, it will be my favorite phone again. Because the review is for people. I (and you) have already made the decision and we know we want it regardless of what others say. Once again, welcome bro!

Dorin, that is so sweet of you! I promise i will get myself all prepared for the testing smile.gif

Oreo, trust mei will take it out even its stuck there smile.gif if i dont get my unit tomorrow, i will be making calls and make sure it reaches me smile.gif

Cool... Please, share your APN configuration with us smile.gif.

I have Celcom-3G data + voice plan. I can try my current celcom3g APN setting as soon I got mine. smile.gif

Major newspaper also focusing in the recent 'problem'

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/13/technolo...s/13google.html

My conspiracy theory : Google's plan to get 'FREE' advertisements or publicity around the world. smile.gif
1) 'Planned leaking' the N1 several weeks before the official announcement
Here, many tech publishers started reporting about the arrival of the N1.

2) Google ask the T-Mobile to 'cripple' the network temporarily. Actually, T-Mobile is in upgrage process for faster 3.5G infra.

3) Now, everyone start talking about the N1. smile.gif including the presses. smile.gif

4) Google/HTC/T-Mobile publish the patch/fix ... and everybody is happy. Major news publishers spread out the 'good' news.

5) Google got better reputation because, they can solve the difficult 'problem' .

6) More people buying N1. or N2 .... N3 ....

I hope all of these are NOT parts of the Google plans/missions for FREE publicities smile.gif

Thank you.

If you ask me, honestly, this is called "dirty trickplaying" smile.gif

First, there is big a iMonster out there that they have to take down. Many people are so crazed with the iMonster that in order to get the fever off, they have to create "anticipation" - which can only be created from word of mouth.

Second, the price is $529 USD which is considerably cheap for an "unlocked" phone. If google goes around advertising more, the cost will rise too (logically)..which will not allow it to rival once again..Why is MacOS cheaper than Windows although its better? Why is GNU/Linux even Free and still the best among the three OS'? Its the same theory. Word only spreads through people.

Just look at us..Just to find answers, we look around at what other people say without judging much whether its reliable or not..But once we experience it ourselves, we start to think "Oh, its not that bad after all"..We must know that even those guys who are giving answers are end-users and tried to seek answers themselves but to no avail - out of which they produce their own answers..

Like I said, its dirty playing..So what? Life is not fair..Everyone knows that smile.gif Predators and Prey have existed forever smile.gif

Added on January 13, 2010, 3:36 pmbonanno..The sending fees is included..Besides, I live in Port Dickson, I'm not sure where is it coming from smile.gif I believe the nearest branch is in Seremban..I dont mind collecting it of course..I'll try calling them..

Lol..I think there might be Malaysians who got it from Singapore already..But if it was ordered online and shipped to Malaysia, I can say I am among the first ones..

Also, good news Androiders! Nexus One has landed in Malaysia! Its undergoing custom clearance and its a darn tough process..I have to declare the AP permit for telecommunications (which means I have to pay 10% or some sort again for the clearance)..I will try my best to get the set today..I may drive down to KLIA smile.gif

Sad news guys..They said they cant clear it today since its after 4pm already..There is a RM195 charge for SIRIM clearance, and RM200 for service charge..Apart from that, when picking up, there will be another 10% charge for fedex clearance..i am looking at another RM450 here smile.gif

Too bad they cant deliver it today otherwise I would've picked it up myself..Guess I have to wait.. sad.gif

Added on January 13, 2010, 4:54 pmupdates...finally set all the calculations..
10% of total price (cukai fedex) = RM185
SIRIM declaration = RM180
Service charge = RM150

which sums up to RM560 in total cost..If you guys need SIRIM clearance for orders, let me know and I will recommend you the person who can handle everything..This is the cheapest offer among all the agents and he has the strongest profile..

This mean, my Nexus One is costing me =
$530 x RM3.4 = RM1802 (Phone itself)
$20 x RM3.4 = RM68
$130 x RM3.4 = RM442 (shipping to Malaysia)
RM450 = SIRIM clearance and other custom charges

-------------------------------------------------------------
RM 2762.00
==================================

Im not worried about the money..I'm worried about the guys saying it can only be collected on Friday unless the agent pushes things tomorrow (for which I still have to drive down to KLIA tomorrow)..The agent does not promise for tomorrow but he assures that the phone can be collected on Friday..

The saddest part is, they might open up the box to check the contents! WTF! That sucks! I want to open up my baby by myself! I'm no drug dealer of any sort..!

I actually didnt sell my Hero to be honest..I was going to let it go for RM1750 to a guy who was not techie..Then I decided not to..I gave it to my wife instead..Since she will be with me, the Hero will always be around (which means my support on Hero will not drop)..The class 6 SD is in use by the Hero still tongue.gif

Based on my limited knowledge, 'they' or the SIRIM open the box, so that they can stick the SIRIM approval sticker on your N1. So, hope everything goes well.

So, in this case, SIRIM or Kastam is the FIRST Malaysian in Malaysia who touch the N1. smile.gif

MYR 150 for service charge? For what service? Is it for filling up the SIRIM form and submit it yo sirim? ..Haiya... You also can do it la .. shahz... smile.gif Go collect it and do the SIRIM approval by yourself. But why Fedex need 10% extra charges, even they NOT send the package to your house ?

Relax my friend... That is their job. Anyway, good luck. I hope everthing goes smoothly.

Yeah..but i will have to drive down to Shah Alam for filling up the form and submitting it..SIRIM takes a few days to process that form..This guy will do it immediately..The 10% is "cukai" for them..I just want to get the phone..
