For those planning to order it through your lubang in US, please take into account the applicable sales tax. For eg. my purchase got 8.75% CA sales tax.

QUOTE(miuk @ Jan 9 2010, 12:14 AM) I just ordered mine. I'm just wandering whether the malaysian kastam will still tax the phone upon arrival to here. For those planning to order it through your lubang in US, please take into account the applicable sales tax. For eg. my purchase got 8.75% CA sales tax. I know you can appoint private company such as FEDEX or DHL but can you run away from tax this way? |

Thats why you guys have to use Fedex or DHL..if you guys are going to use US post, your phone might be caught in customs and be sent back to google..No kidding..You guys heard of Microsoft Zune player? Only available in US and Canada..Im one of the proud Malaysians to own it too..My friend shipped Zune using US post and when it reached Malaysia, the customs got their hands on it and sent it back (fortunately) to my friend..Then he used DHL to send to me and it got right to my doorstep
tera, the trackball is same as on Hero according to my friend..he did say about the trackball having "tricolors"..I'm guessing it can change its glow colors..Size wise will be the same though..I personally find the trackball really cool especially when it "breathes" with light glows..So much that sometime I take time to reply to my SMSes just to see the trackball flashing (on Hero that is)..haha jepertine90 if you're expecting that from Maxis, I dare to say it will never happen..You know why Nexus One is here and what its main mission is..With Maxis offering its rival, there is no way this phone will get into Maxis' packages..Go to their center, and see their latest phone deals..Even the latest HTC winmo are being offered with packages but none of the androids Then again, Google's domination on internet is so powerful that they can definitely make Android a success without any telco..Iphone has issues with networks in US which I am guessing Google has take as a lesson and hence sell N1 as unlocked phone..Really smart step..Ever wondered if one day, suddenly google blocked its services on iPhone, what will happen? You guys dare to bet with me? By 2011 end and before 2012 beginning, Android will win over iphone's sales if not earlier than that.. This post has been edited by shahz: Jan 9 2010, 07:02 AM |

I stumbled at a quite' horror' stories/problems at google phone forum; about the N1's unreliable 3G connection. But, wait and see.

@shaz,
I concur. Some of the important apps which apple offers in iphone is dependent on google. Maps for instance. Without google's support, the GPS is rendered useless. |

I dont think the battery life will be that short..If it has a good CPU management, then it supposedly wont hog the battery that much..Its about the ROM you use too..If you compared Magic with a shipping ROM with iPhone, then I do expect it to lose..But if its on Modaco ROM, I doubt it..My Hero lasted 5 days without charging at maximum battery saving mode..How? I was travelling, and forgot to bring the charging cable..My battery was still about 85% and I switched off the mobile internet, wifi and GPS altogether..Used Hero like a 3310 (just call and sms) and I was really surprised it pulled from Monday to Friday without a single charge..That was on Modaco 2.9..Go ahead, and do that with the iPhone if it can
@Verain Exactly..Thats why Google can really dominate the online world..I'm eager to get my hands on Google Earth on my N1 soon..Yes..Earth..Not Maps I have to say I am really addicted to Android as if its a dose of cocaine..I seem to type a lot when its related to Android..lol..Maybe I really should start blogging..haha.. I will write an extensive review on the Nexus One when mine arrives..You guys want images or video? |

Shah. We have google earth too. Practically most of google's offering we will have it in the phone. The only thing which google does not share with iPhone is streetview. To me this is androids trump card over iPhone. There are times you wish you could see some 3d monument scene rather than looking on 2d images or maps.
You can ask your brother to jailbreak the iPhone and install sb setting. Certainly looking forward on your review. My anticipation would be on live wallpaper and the great picture gallery. |
