Even without multitouch I think the eyecandy interface is forgiving enough to let you forget about it's imperfection.
Hero and HD2 are the 2 which I know comes with multitouch. Even so, not all application will take advantage of this feature. Milestone is another, LG's chocolate and I think Arena is a few which devices which incorporates multitouch feature. The 2nd phone which came with multitouch after Iphone was meizu m8 if not mistaken. Multitouch can be useful at times. Nexus 1 have a good potential. However I was kinda disappointed on the browser. Surely the snap dragon should perform better than driod. |

QUOTE(~tera~ @ Jan 7 2010, 01:30 PM) No multi touch only with default apps. Yes, That's also the same reason why they lock the phone under AT&T network. Now if only the phone comes with other variant of colours. That would be nice.If u going to app phone, there are a lot of potential within it actually, as long as the phone hardware itself did support multi touch and YES nexus one hardware(AMOLED screen does support multi touch) did. There a browser app that support multi touch called "dolphin browser" inside android market and its FREE like I'm using right now( posting and reading this thread) and its better faster than default browser app. About charging nexus one phone, using laptop and using ac adapter battery life time is different, charging using laptop are faster power drain. And remember no multi touch only for nexus one default apps, there's no reason y u need to stress out for those who still new about android phone. To me N1 is the best app phone so far and trust me, u won't regret buying this phone ,never ever ever. And who cares about 3g video call cause that's THE ONLY thing nexus one hardware doesn't have. Added on January 7, 2010, 1:57 pm@vervain I hope u noe that apple utilized all of entire US country smart phone device can't use their own pinch zooming feature idea, that's y droid doest support multi touch but milestone from UK did support multi touch. Also nexus one, coz google do the marketing world wide INCLUDING US country so they have to obey apple's multi touch right reserved. |

haha, yeah, the price to pay for loaning their address, freight and handling. Not to mention there might be Tax imposed on imported goods. Overall the choice is yours. if you have contact overseas, then ask them to get it for you. But make sure it's not lost during delivery by courier.

@shaz,
I concur. Some of the important apps which apple offers in iphone is dependent on google. Maps for instance. Without google's support, the GPS is rendered useless. |

Shah. We have google earth too. Practically most of google's offering we will have it in the phone. The only thing which google does not share with iPhone is streetview. To me this is androids trump card over iPhone. There are times you wish you could see some 3d monument scene rather than looking on 2d images or maps.
You can ask your brother to jailbreak the iPhone and install sb setting. Certainly looking forward on your review. My anticipation would be on live wallpaper and the great picture gallery. |

Alright. I shall begin from bottom to top. iPhones do not have voice to text feature on Standalone. You will need to install software like dragon dictation. I think apple will make it a core feature just like It did on multiple language
input. iPhones by stock do not run the application entirely on the background. applications operate behind the notification feature. Which means some does run but they operate in minimal. Which means you still get the basic updates on notification. Next is on the multitouch trade. If you ask me. I will not trade voice over text over multitouch. To me multitouch has been a great tool for navigation, as well as to assist in fast typing. Htc hero offers the best keyboard input with multitouch capabilities. To date accurracy of voice recognition isn't as accurate as it seems. I've tried winmo's voice command, symbians voice recognition, even the latest iPhones voice recognition but none of them seem practical for daily use. Don't turn your phone into a genie. Imagine yourself in the train talking to the phone. " zoom in" " next page" " go to www.Lowyat.net " "type honey I miss you so much". People either think you're trying to show off or being retarted. It's a good feature only to those whom are disabled. Basic quick feature to assist like the modern ones are adequate. iPhones were never strong on the paper specs. They are strong because of the os as well as the supportive apps store and iTunes. Which is why even their first generation phone can experience the same firmware update as the rest of it's siblings. Andriod manufacturers have seen this as the key element on why iPhone has survived. Some announced that their latest phones running under cupcake and donut will eventually be upgradable to eclair. You can check out some reports from latest CES convention. I'm keeping myself on the borderline. No Doubt nexus one is the best among the andriods to date. I would love to see how google is going to optimize the hardware to it's full glory. It's pointless to have a powerful device when it's only utilizing less than half of it's capabilties. Whether nexus one will win over iPhone we shall sit back and watch the next 6 months. This post has been edited by Vervain: Jan 10 2010, 06:41 PM |

I'm keeping my thoughts open. Why I say celcom because they did sell off magic under their network. So no surprise celcom will seize this opportunity and bring in the phone.
