Almost 3 weeks now, my P1 WIMAX broadband is DEAD SNAIL mad.gif pace and after much of their advertisement on TV, Newspaper and signage, its just as worst or more worst i can say as compared with Streamyx. I am really, really disappointed with P1 WIMAX.

Just curious, anyone out there got the same problem as me? I am located in Air Itam, Penang.

Agree with ipodasia. Mine P1Wimax is ok in this few months ( around 2 months before), then start on november and december, already start disaster. I'm from batu uban, Penang.

1. Connection is good and connected (green light stable) but no connection.
2. Slow, lagging on loading website up to unreachable connection.
3. Low signal, sometimes red (unable to connect) for whole day + the next day.

Now, Orange light with slow speed.. Might affecting Penang user only or throughout malaysia ?..

P1 also use TM infrastructure.
P1 rent TM line and resell it for all.
Main lines are from TM, but the tower which to connect to the end users are from P1.
Like DiGi broadband, they use Time Dot Com infrastructure, but you connect to DiGi.

u sure they are using the tm infrastructure?

i notice even my streamyx 2 mb package is getting worse nowadays.

man, this new isp is creating more problems than what is meant to do. Gov should boycott this kind of isp.. from tumpang here and tumpang there.

I think you should try relocate your WiMax Modem. In my case, my room is the only one which have green signal, yet this few weeks only get orange signal. Other area, either orange or red signal. But, yesterday because of inability to withstand the slowness, i move the modem to other places in my house. Surprisingly, i get one area that has green signal. Since then, my connection is very much improved. I think P1 have somehow relocate their com. tower or something like that, so, you might want to try this.

why so much complaints but u guys are still using it.. above 1MB is good enough lar.

they did give 1 week trial, if not happy or coverage not good by that time can return back already.

u can switch back to TM streamyx, up to you, and bear with TM's lousy support, monopoly and risk of long downtimes.

the choice is yours lar, u the consumer decide. P1 ain't that bad... if u really wanna point out whose the real culprit, it's TM monopolizing the fixed line broadband and making crap outta it.

We complaint because we want people to know the actual situation faced by unhappy P1 Wimax customers. So anyone who wants to subscribe P1 Wimax may faced the very slow speed. Yes i agree the download is above 1MB but please look at the upload speed !!

The speed is good first 1 month but last 1 month its very very slow. Someone got to tell their predicament so that others can be warned.

1mb download speed is already very good IMHO....yeah...the upload is slow but then again, you are not paying RM200 for a 10mb upload link right? so you get what you paid for....

As said, i have no complaint with the download speed but since the upload is 2-10kbps, the sending of data to remote system is slow and therefore, the whole process is slow. Moreover, i take ages to email out attachment above 400kb.. u get what i mean!

I thought i would try Wimax as i have been using streamyx for years. Generally the download is good, but the UPLOAD speed sucks bigtime. That means i cant webcam to family in UK, i cant VOIP etc, it even took 2 mins to upload a very small .doc file to my hotmail.

Sometimes its good, sometimes its bad. Streamy is stable, always 420kbs upload speed.

I just got P1, i will return it, so far i find the download speed acceptable, and some times faster than streamyx, but upload speed, is incredibly slow. You can not have decent broadband without upload, how to do webcamming, VOIP, upload pictures to facebook.

Now it may improve, but i do not want to be locked into a two year contract if this is what im going to get.

Whatever it is, streamyx have always been the best in Malaysia, when i do have a problem they try to fixit. My speed is stable. STAY WITH STREAMYX.

Added on January 2, 2010, 3:01 pmThis is the problem, upload is very unstable and yours is still half that of streamyx. Try webcamming, and VOIP, yours would not be good.

Anyway they gave me 7 day trial, i have seen enough not to want to use them. They salesman in Digital Mall lied and told me i could get a refund on the spot in head office, i found out its 45 days.

The main problem i have is that they lanch a huge campaign withought haveing the capacity to cope, but they lock people into a 2 year contract, 7 day trial period is not long, and then 2 years contract, it can be very very slow, but under the terms you still have signal so can not break contract.

Its one sided contact with no consumer rights

Guys the speed depends on which area you are in.

Congested areas usually will have slower download/upload limits, and people start to complain, that's when P1 take actions. They will ask their technicians to install more towers or upgrade the towers in that particular location.

It has nothing to do with 'after-1-month-throttle'. All you have to do is complain to P1 and ask them to improve the towers nearby. Please don't go around b!tching P1.

Complain to P1 careline if your place is congested and frequently getting disconnection so they know that the tower in that area needs to be upgraded or another new tower needs to be added.

getting tired of wireless... next will consider TMnut streamyx... no choice wireless lack the word stability.

and i hope the government could remove the monoply of TM streamyx on the local wired broadband.. and encourage more competition. Currently it's just stupid seeing only TM offering such an important service?

My friend just P1 since last 2 week, the first 7 day is fine and connection is stable, just entered to day 8, the signal drop and he received sms said the base station is upgrading now. After that, every 2 days the signal will drop until yesterday still the same..... I heard someone said the P1 modem in-build with booster and it will boost to the max during the testing period and the booster will shut down after tat and your line will up and down like yoyo.

it should be ok 1.2mbs dl speed and 500kbs upload for p1
but, the problem is the payment and the bills...sometimes we forget to pay coz dont have a bill...they will cut of the line then if you make a payment it will be back for 3 days...for maxis its just 1 hour or 2 hours the line back again..i maintain my speed coz i limit my dl...if you use to much your speed become slow,......on my maxis the speed was almost same as p1...

there's someone on my facebook who posted a very angry comment about p1.
regardless whether it's true or not, i don't want to commit to anything else and stick with my tmnet.

Hi All,

I am have a very slow upload using P1 previously. (Speed virtually - stall). And call up their CS, which is sucks too...

after complaint and complaint, they pass the case to level 2 engineer and found that its due to the signal is weak.(Dunno why, previously was ok 1).

Then they offer me an Outdoor CPE, means find the one big modem outside the house 1. with the outdoor cpe, i only can get wat RSSI -68 and CINR 24.....but the speed is back to normal, 1.2Mbps down, ~500k upload.

So if you are facing upload slow problem, i guess might due to the modem cant punch back the signal to the base station. i think u might consider to get outdoor cpe.

hope this can help

*(Streaymx is very slow in my area, i keep complaint for the same problem for more than 3 years and finally only get resolve after complaint to MCMC)

I can't really understand some of the guys crying and shouting here.

If you're mad because of the connection problem then i can understand.

If you mad because you have exceed the limit and getting slower download speed, IMO YOU ALL ARE CRAZY.

20gb / 30days = 666mb / day.

666mb / 24 = 27mb / hour

It's more than enough for everybody.

We should think of others. We all share the same boat.

Those torrent downloader is the reason broadband in M'sia become so slow.

Be considerable and reasonable. Everybody wants a piece of internet so just because you want to download a lot of things doesn't mean others have to suffer for you.

Jus to share my experience for using the P1...

My P1 connection is down since 11 Nov 2009, call CS many many times.... they said bcoz the modem is not updated yet, and need to be updated. Ask me to bring the modem to their HQ... ok... do as wat they told... after tat, call up the CS again coz stil no connection and they said will fix it 24 HOURS later...
Guess wat?? until now i stil haven got my connection back!!! !@#$%^&*

The BEST part is everyday i called up, different CS will ask me wats the STUPID problem again n again... til i fed up n ask the CS go look at the complaint notes... and then fr tere wait 24 HOURS again.

It is what Tmnut is doing for the past donkey year , i believe everyone of us are the victim in tmnut (Still now i also the victim no choice in my area). Calling the doing the same stupied thing .

I wonder did they have L1 or L2 support on this..

It happen same in malaysia polictic . Revolution come in and time is needed to have change happen , we can't expect a totally new player to be good in a Tmnut territory
The more competitor the best around.

If my area got P1 Max, i will support them as my backup on my stremyx line . brows.gif

The moment you start google you already wasted a few kb, facebook a few MB, etc etc
Basically when you load a website, it "downloads" the information to your browser. That explain why even you didn't download anything.

Hai meh? Asked them to pay my phone bill they refused. vmad.gif
And why I asked them to pay? Because I have to call them many-many times to get waiver.
At the end, I got only RM4 rebate. My phone bill to call P1, close to RM20. vmad.gif

Everytime also do upgrade. Technical problem also say do upgrade. Lousy hardware also say upgrade. Why keep upgrade to lousy hardware. Like this never ending la.

yaya. For a company to give up about 25% of shares (please correct me if i am wrong coz it is been a while since i read that news) to a foreign company and did not mention any of sharing technology or some other benefit other than cash, it seems that they might need some cash for their operation.

Now they keep on promoting their prepaid plan and new modem. But i am not interested in the both plan because:

1. I do not want a monthly committment now. I want to use the prepaid once my p1 contract expires.

2. I already using the Digi Prepaid Internet Limited Edition. Their prepaid plan is not my taste. I am looking for a higher speed under prepaid package.

Right now, i am just tolerating with p1 only and wait for the contract to expire. Once expire, i will switch to Prepaid Internet fully.

I'm also very frustrated about P1. Their stupid technical procedure is rediculous, where by need to observer the consistency line for them.

Now really upset and regret to signed up 2 years contract. Already wasted one year. Always disconnect no service. Upgrade, maintenance, slow connection, seems never finish.

Latest joke, ask me to get Free Wiggy, paid RM49, then when my normal modem cant uses, i try wiggy. Then also same, cannot use. Then call up technical dept as usual, they said wiggy is only for outdoor lol.

Today, my 2nd consecutive day without connection from wimax. I wonder how many more days will continue and how many more days i need to wait for their 2nd lvl technician to reach me?

Added on September 18, 2010, 3:57 amtoday finally they reach my house. but same problem, and he said due to line congestion. Nothing happen, same problem after 5th day. I wonder tomorrow afternoon what they will said when I call them and complain again.

Judge it yourself. Is this service worth to subscribe?

lodged a few report and in return they gave me free one month charges!!! vmad.gif i do not want the free one month charge ... I WANT MY SPEED!!!

totally regret sacrificed my 7 years streamyx account and opted for this P1 WIMAX "dialup" speed mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

finally, ITU has announced the TRUE definition of 4G as WirelessMAN-Advanced (aka WiMAX 2 / 802.16m) & LTE-Advanced.

P1's and YTL's supposedly-"4G" network is now officially FALSE. btw, , P1's WIMAX is based on 802.16e.

But, P1 has changed its advertising strategy from "P1 W1MAX" to "P1 4G" with compaign slogan "Getting Stronger, Wider and Faster by the Day" and proudly says "Super Broadband"! See how happy and proud their CEO is in the picture...

After 10 months terminated their service.

Today , I borrow my friend P1 and decide to give it one more try for testing the performance .

Too bad, it not get any improvement and even worst where signal goes red and amber.
Last time it was green but connect down a lot.

Haih....

Depends where u live.. If the place u live can get good signal without interference then its all good, but if u stay high place, got other building blocking signal, far from base tower etc.. then u might experience frustration to the max

You mean the 1.2MB 1?

If it is the 1.2MB package, it will throttle you down to average 50-60kb/s.

I am using the P1 now, it is very efficient in throttling people. sweat.gif

I think if you don't exceed the FUP quota, there will be no problem.

It depends how you judge the speed, if you use torrent speed as benchmark, I'm quite sure P1 does manage those services like other broadband operators.

I'm a regular internet user - no torrent and big file upload/download, I'm quite comfortable with the speed.

I did some speed test once a while and it's below my subscribed package, but I won't know it's below my subscribed package if I don't go and check it, and I don't really need to go check it because my regular activity is quite smooth for normal browsing and facebooking.

i did not use the torrents. But sometime i download huge stuff such as Microsoft update and new software updates in a month (about 3GB)and other stuff.

Last time, when i was download an item without using the download manager, it suddenly disconnects and after restart, it is running on the throttled speed.

If not mistaken, anything going out to the public internet cannot be guaranteed by the ISP, they only can ensure within their network, there are no congestion up to the IP transit level.

The only correct speed measurement method would be a speed test to their local server. Second to that would be a server within Malaysia.

I interested to get their service, since 20GB with 1.4mb cost rm99 additional free reg and activiation and 50% discount for 1st and 2nd month. But required 12 months contract if not u had to pay some fees as modem rental. Question is how good this for p22 download. I don't see like 100kb speed, a stable 50kb will do for me.
So if exceed the quota it will cap around 50 - 60kb ? something like 56k speed modem.

i just signed their RM99 package yesterday. tried to DL drama with it. my drama only runs around 30kb/s around 9-11pm. so i went to sleep. To my surprise, all my DL is complete this morning (9am) when i woke up. I am DLing around 2-3GB drama. but 1 thing the data cap thing is definitely not enough. i used 4gb in a day. but they say it will be reset every 28th of the month. so i don't care since its already 21st today.

I wanted to subscribe the Unifi. But they want the new users to sign up for 2 years package. I pass on getting the Unifi.

The latest P1 packages does not require users to bond with P1 for a period of time right?

Me too. Unless they are coming up with some other ways like allowing the users with old modem to use P1 Wimax by credit or allow the old user to change to new modem and use P1 Wimax service by prepaid, I am out from their customer list.

The fact is after 2 years, P1 coverage is still very spotty, hence a lot of people will fall prey of bad experience if sitting in the edge of the coverage. Despite getting green light signal, it is not guaranteed a good downlink speed because the uplink speed could be sucks, if uplink sucks, it will cause the download to suck as well because more retransmission. That's why beware if you are at cell edge of coverage map, the sales people will tell you it's okay but ... don't fall into the trap.

This is from my personal experience.

I'm a happy user because I know their trick and don't fall prey before confirming i'm really in the coverage.

+1.

I used to be around the edge area of the coverage for quite sometime. The performance is quite volatile.

Now, i have moved to the green zone. drool.gif There are improvement, but i opt to exit once the contract expires.

For mobile broadband, P1 is the best choice for heavy users, cheapest and offering the highest FUP quota.

During that time I onli paid like abt 4 mths subscription. When I returned da modem in PJ offce, da CS just apologise for da constant disconnecting & my patience.

If you are the heavy download user just don't even think about P1....if not you will regret for the remaining contract period.  hmm.gif

newbie, i wanna ask that i planned to have p1 wimax. Then, i looked for coverage area and realized thare are fewnfactors that

1.my house located almost the side of green coverage area, but still consider as area covered what i saw from google map. (too risky, scare that signal drop)

2.nearby are home living area, most of houses belong to single story trrace house, but mine is Double, (Will this become signal advantage to me if i put wimax modem upstair?)

3. Dx-230 modem are used instead of DS-300. Any differences, better performance in term of signals?

Because of tmnut's international link capping, i planned to terminate it, and get p1 instead. can anyone share ur ideas?

1. It would be better if you can check using your friend that is using P1.

2. The last time i use at that place, the signal is not very good compared if you are using in the apartment. The signal may be green, but it does not mean that the speed would be good.

3. I am an old user seeking to leave P1 once the contract expires, so i don't know much about that.

Between, can you explain more about the TM net international link capping?

IF they throttle (or even block) p2p traffic, it is still acceptable to me. But now their capping sucks, they capped my speed within 50kb/s. It affects my HTTP download speed especially in File Hosting website (rapidshare or megaupload) and others like youtube (very important to me). For a normal web surfing, almost need to wait for few seconds longer compared to previous... They capped the speed into half of boardband package that user applied. E.g 1mbps into 500kbps =50kB/s~, 512kbps into 256kbps. This is just my comment only. For more details, u can go into streamyx international link capping discussion - Here

Try to avoid using 2 P1 modem in 1 room. It will affect your signal.

If you are a heavy downloader, you might want to consider about the P1 since streamyx have the international link capping quota if you only are the only 1 in the room using it.

You can download from hotfile, just the issue is the data quota only.

I think anything you better refer the T&C form before signing it. You never know about it. If the T&C stated, it is solid.

About the package, I am not sure for the Wiggy.

Disconnect frequency = ? times per day
If exceed the quota, what wil the speed be? (half of the subscribed 1)
How is ur connection after three months usage?

I need all this info because i have seen many bad feedback form the customers and i am in a dilemma 2 subscribe.

For those who said that p1 cannot even access a simple website, do ur placegt coverage or u hav exceed the quota o whatver reasons, mind telling me?

Sometime P1 is very troublesome when it cannot surf the internet. For my old modem, if restart 2 times without signs of improvements means the service have problem.

If the service is good, usually can achieve the promised speed without any download manager.

In your case, you can try out the performance with your friend's P1 before subscribing yourself.

ipodasia, my experience with P1 was horrible. Just...horrrible.

I signed up with them so my girlfriend could play Farmville, but the signal was so lousy that she couldn't even do that. Imagine - you can't even load Facebook?

And it definitely was well within the coverage area (Kota Damansara). There was a P1 rep at the Old Town White Coffee next door promoting the service every day.

I had to call and complain to them every month, and they kept promising to waive the monthly charges every time they confirmed that we were getting crap bandwidth, but the waivers never appeared and I kept getting charged for ZERO service availability from P1.

Wish they'd spend more money upgrading their infrastructure and less on all their marketing campaigns.

After the SK Telecom come and invest in P1, their marketing campaigns reduce significantly.

Right now, despite the improvement in their service, i have to say my parents have been pressuring me to quit P1 once my contract finishes.

All I can say is that P1 depends on area.

If you are unfortunate to stay in area which is in cell edge coverage, then better don't subscribe.

Another issue is if you are served by the station that has a lot of heavy downloaders, your speed will suck too.

There is no good/ no good answer when it comes to mobile broadband. You just have to give it a try.

Some people tend to generalize the service in all area based on personal experience in one area, it could be true for fixed broadband but not on mobile broadband.

If u want the company package with unlimited usage, just go register for a sole proprietor @ SSM for RM50.00 or something.

Then use the sole prop forms to get P1 Office Plans & use the service anywhere u want.

1.2Mbps @ RM159.00
2.4Mbps @ RM339.00

Although I think it seems like a run-around kinda way just to get *real* unlimited usage.

Comparing these rates, TM Unifi looks delicious.. smile.gif

TM Unifi coverage area limited.

Also, you have to report income tax for the government annually. Otherwise, next time when you buy property and the government check you have enterprise, but did not pay tax..... brows.gif brows.gif

hopefully by then the service will get improved in Klang valley.

no doubt they are building a lot of towers to improve its service. however they are pushing the cost to the consumers. if you had noticed, they have a new top up package where you pay RM10 for an extra 2GB of data.

do you know that now they throttle your speed to 128kbps? it used to be 400kbps for 1.2 mbps line. now no matter what package you're on, it's going to 128kbps!! damn P1! i'm very upset! i've been with them for almost 3 years and they didn't even inform me about this change. now, i will no longer be using P1... sad...this is how they treat their loyal customers.

another thing to add areas like wangsa maju sec 2. it's shaded green with coverage... however many ppl complain they cannot get signal at all. when check the Tx tower is on top of LHDN building opposite of jaya jusco sec 1. note that desa setapak is on higher ground near lrt station. the wangsa maju sec 2 is much more on higher than desa setapak. hence the signal from Tx tower cannot reach. cause there is another blockade from wangsa metroview condo(s)..i am sharing this tip, for those who staying there planning for P1. good luck on your tryings..

when u contact P1 support they tell u all sort of things especially in relocating your modem around the building. that eventually won't help at all. if u lucky get 1 signal bar on dx modem with intermittent disconnection or download speed less than 100kbps for pro package.

henceforth the info/gps map coverage from P1 is somehow misleading. which leads to so much complaints.

yupe. starting from march 2011. that's y they have the top up "option". which is basically not an option once they've throttled your speed slower than a snail.

i'm also using the same plan as you are. i'm not very happy about this and that's why i'll be terminating the service this month. it's getting worse by the day. they will try to squeeze out as much money from as possible to cover up for their "upgrade" services.

Nobody ask you to use Maxis Internet ONLY.

I use U mobile unlimited internet. RM28/month. Only 500MB quota.

Yes, later the the speed would be very very slow.

SO, if i need more speed and quota? Digi, Celcom and Maxis are all available for me to use. tongue.gif

this is the picture of Speedtest. This is 1.2mbps Home Plus Rm99 testing in IPOH GARDEN TESCO (beside JUSCO KINTA CITY) if it could be as slow as what you say. Then how do you going to explain with this speed? You wanna to use 100mbps? only consider as fast in MALAYSIA broadband network?

if we are using 4.8mbps Home Pro Rm139 in Ipoh? It maybe could reach till 4.9mbps nearly to 5mbps

There are two answers to this
1. You have either exceeded the FUP; which means that your speed is throttled to the snail speed of 128kbps.
2. Your service basically sucks.

However looking at the speed, I think it's more of the former instead of the latter. Try and check your usage.

@wuwah,

I use P1 in your area before terminating it, the speed is fine though. Your new housing area is near where and you stay in the condo or normal house?

I think you should really consider about testing out the prepaid wireless internet and use it along with a wireless router.

If some of you guys in the house is a heavy surfer, go for the celcom prepaid internet.

you ady check ur quota
Coz since the latency is only 75ms I think it shudn't be signal strength issue .

Or mind to share wad time u done the test
may be it is hyper congested time

hi,i stay in sungai long, kajang area, since 1 week ago my p1 wimax start to getting slower and slower. At first i thought there is more user inside the house (i rent house) so the line became slower. But why the line is still same slow like snail when there is no one using the internet except me?
Hm,if over the quota why i try to download using thunder, the speed is around 12kbs which is still acceptable but i cant surfing net normally. The web page keep on failure to load and say server has no data to send?
Shall i call and complain?

Youtube tak bole apa LANCAU pun tak boleh...Tiap bulan bakar wang RM100.Really dam furious.I think Im gonna change to streamyx this end of year.wait and see.

I took the wiggy 10Mbps, went home, tested the speed not even 1.5mbps. Terrible speed. Worst thing is the the transmitter tower is just 200-300 meter from my house Return the item in two days and got refund back. No more P1. This is the second time and yet it have not improved after 3 years. doh.gif

that's why i am not paying penalty.. is not my fault that they simply anyhow change the contract from 400kbps to 128kbps,..

and then they choose to ignore my complain in facebook, in here, and everywhere no response,..

since they can't be bother to contact me and file my complain, and i also can't be bother to make any payment at all, i will be more happy if they choose to blacklisted me because i AM SO NOT INTERSTED to deal with p1 anymore in future,.!!

the matter of facts is with the 128kbps the speedtest websites can';t even loading! cant even have a proper speedtest to show them or proof, and non of my laptop browser able to load 1 websites at all,. especially facebook!!!!

Digi is out of my list forever, imho Digi provide the most shitty service, which company that can allow their customer to click the f**king coonect button for multiple minutes, and dc you in less then 5 mins, and end up i cant even connect even for edge, not to mention the 3G, the best part is base on thier cs reply, which mean, they dont give a damn on it. teh digi postpaid broadband and digi prepaid sim broadband is happening,. but DIGI prepaid DATA internet SIM is alright, nothing wrong with it,. and the consistency is still 70% ,.. 384kbps is good as long as it is stable and way better than p1 128kbps ( cannot load any websites at all ),..!!!

at least DIGI dont sugar coating their service, not like p1 sugar coating so thick and then now sucks up and modify all contract from 400kbps FUP to 128kbps FUP,.... instead of trying to add more capacity to their signal tower, they cut existing customer capacity to provide to more new user!!! sucks,.. doh.gif

well if you have any other choice i suggest you try prepaid broadband first instead of postpaid + contract,... prepaid is way better and easy to change if anything wrong,. when you stuck with contract + postpaid, it might not end up so well,..

I never thought to try P1.But my U Mobile is working bad starting from last week.
Connected, but the connection only works 20secs for every 5mins.
During the 20secs, speed can reach 1.5mbps,after that there will be few minutes no response. Webpage timed out, the modem counter show it had only 20kbps. I called to the services centre, they told me they are going to fix this, but still have no positive feedback from them.

I take U40 package now.In normal time, it should be around 1.4mbps in my area. I am actually very satisfy with their speed.
But the last 4days, it has connected, but no incoming data. I already reported the case to the service centre, and i recieved a call from them today morning. I told them it has no improvement, they reply me them will investigate again.

I read a lot of good reviews about P1 too. Most of them are very recent though. A lot of my friends have said P1 has improved and much more stable. It also depends on your location and congestion. I just signed up p1, its been about 1 week and i have no problems or issues. Don't listen to reviews only. There are a lot of good reviews on P1 too. Some people have bad experience in the beginning, now P1 has improved and expanded network. i am going to continue with P1. rclxms.gif

It is up to a consumer to choose the broadband services of your choice. Just make sure hearsay is not the only factor in your decision making. Try it out first at your location. Borrow or test out different modems and dongles...check the packages details. Then make your decision on solid facts. Hope you make the right choice! icon_rolleyes.gif

Thank for the advices.
But today is the 5th day of testing.
I had a terrible speed last night. speedtest was 0.15 down and 0.32 up,from 6pm until 10pm?(i went out and back at 2:30am).after 2:30, the speed was great again, download speed was 280kb/s.
The peak time for me is 8pm-1am, it is too suck for me having 0.15mbps everynight.
I guess i will return it tmr since it is still under 7days.

P1 sux... Testing period they sure give u good speed. After 7 days or 1 month they will throttle ur speed to around 1.2mbps. If you call their customer service they sure ask you to change the dns setting. FYI, dns is nothing to do with the speed. After change it, in 1-60 min they will give you back the full speed around 4-6mbps. But don't too happy about that. In few days time, they will throttle back your speed to around 1.2mbps. They might give you reason their base station got problem or upgrading. If you notice your line is lag or ping is high then it is true else they throttle ur speed even thought you not reach your quota yet. P1 think we are stupid!!!

sorry to hear about your bad experience bro. Maybe it didn't work out for you. All ISPs have pros and cons. Just gotta choose whatever fits each of us best.

as soon as p1 first launch in penang, that time speed and consistency was amazing, and first 9 month using it was no problems at all, gaming, downloading, surfing or video call all is amazing going with the old modem DS300. then after 9 month all p1 user receive email about upgrading firmware on the DS 300. then problems start from there,. i did go down p1 centre to exchange mode for twice, still there, and after that consistency is gone,. speed is up and down tremendously,. and i tell myself give p1 a chances, but still the same, very poor and super arrogant service staff in p1 centre,.. i personally work as customer service industry as well, how can they hire this type of people to represent them ? totally not flexible at all, and plus all the cancelation problems and billing and speed and etc,. i finally cannot stand all these crap anymore and did it once for all,..

currently in penang p1 in some area is OVER SELL, and some people get no internet at all at peak hour or midnight,.. doh.gif

hmmm P1 needs to buck up in Penang. its just disappointing. If they are gonna extend their coverage and keep being a noticable competitor, they better improve fast and focus more on improving their services and on their technical side.

yea, so is really good luck to p1, since they dont appreciate long term customer, they treat new customer better than long term type,..

I hope P1 will. But they have been rewarding some long term customers according to what i saw on their fb pages and some of my friend's blogs. They got presents from P1 for being a long term customer. I am not long enough to be considered long term customer yet...hopefully i can get something maybe in a few more months or next year? sweat.gif

It varies from different customers to different areas. I am very happy with my speeds with P1. I know alot of people who have alot of good services from P1 and there are those who have bad experience with P1 also.

i guess there are alot of factors that are not within P1's control. The salesman is one of them. Actually its not just P1...ANY broadband who have salesmen selling their products for them cannot control what the salesmen does. But yeah, there are complaints and should be directed to P1cares not the sales man, cos he wouldn't know jack. haha
