Curious to know how much portion of cucumber you give each time to 1 GP?  Honestly I hardly give cucumber to my GPs.  And I noticed lots of petshops like to feed cucumber to any small animals, cucumber doesn't have much nutritional value.  I would rather feed them broccoli, pandan, corn leaf and sawi.

Thanks for caring SCC and Juz. Hope the brindle 1 is ok. when i arrive to the vet, the 1 died on the way next with her brother. The vet gave the brindle a shot and he said the chances are 50%. Hope he make it... Luckly i notice him earlier than the white 1.... i can feel that his survival rate is pretty high. Will update to you guys soon.

usually i only give 1/3 of a cucumber for 2 gps. But the last time i gave them cucumber is 3 weeks ago. and this few weeks only got give them abit carrots and hays.

Actually there is another type which has closer gap than dog cage I saw meant for Rabbit and small animals.  Normally I will use dog cage for the adult GP, for baby cannot use that, the body size could go thru the 1 1/2" gap.
*
Yup true true. Last time my babies GP keep go thru from cage to other gp's cage =.=

Added on February 25, 2010, 5:30 pmthose bird cage usually have small gaps but the not good part of it is the door cannot lock

if it's a pee stain than it's normal. Make sure there is no poo stain on the butt. That is the sign of diarrhea. need to be treated early. Or you will regret it

Usually i feed my GP 24/7 pallets. Guinea pigs is an eating machine sweat.gif they can eat non-stop lol. thats y they poo alot. they can poo and eat at the same time.

Today i got 1 good news and 1 bad news to share.

The good news is, my brindle GP is doing fine. After feeding critical care and bring him to see vet, he's able to move and wheek at me today. But he stil unable to eat himself. Even, i give him sawi, he can tear the leaves but very hard to chew and cannot chew pallets. I saw his tray got a few pallets, shows that he had tried to eat but no energy. Maybe he still weak, but still can wheek at me and keep nip my hand because he's hungry. Thats make me feel so glad... made me worried for 2 days hehe. So today still hand feed him using the critical care.

The bad news is about my other GP again, Maruko. The agouti gp from Juztiny . This time is not diarhea... it's her leg. I don't know which part of her leg got problem. But can see that she keep lying sitting there the whole day. When she wan to move toward the food, can see that she's using her front leg power more than the back leg. And of course her butt keep sticking on the mat. Is it because her back leg is paralyze? I think i need to bring her to the vet for check up again. Whenever i hold her, she will wheek continuously..... i think she's crying because of the pain. I check through her bone, No broken bone and No injury. But the good thing is, she's still can eat and drink normally. So shouldn't be worry that much.

Added on February 26, 2010, 11:07 pmI felt very sad, so many things happens to my Guinea pigs.

I seriously speechless in hearing all the bad news on the GP babies I sold you.  You took them home that time, they were already 5-6 weeks old babies in early Jan.  They should  be more stronger and healthier compare to other GP babies I sold which normally are out in 3-4 weeks old, your GPs get to drink their mom's milk for so long. sad.gif

May be you are really unlucky  doh.gif , as the same batch of the babies I sold to other owners, their babies are healthy and doing fine.  So it can't be due to the insufficient nutrients I fed during their babies time.

It's ok. It's my fault too that the white gp couldn't make it. I noticed her too slow. And it's not your fault too the agouti is like that. Can't blame you. Now is hope the agouti can survive this. I will take her to vet tmr and see how the vet says. If she have to bear this for the rest of her life, I don't mind taking her for the rest of her life too smile.gif

Today i have a very sad news. My brindle cannot make it.He was ok yesterday, still eating like mad when i'm feeding him last nite. This morning, i saw him lying there and keep struggling for survival. He kept move his legs. I dunno what happen. I felt so horrible. I thought i can save him, but i can't. I saw a little white tear coming out from his eye. What is it? Can anybody tell me?

So sad to hear about that catherine.. but you did your best.. give yourself a pat ont he back smile.gif RIP T.T

Im presuming the white tear is just a discharge from the eyes, as GPs excrete a milky white liquid which lubricates their eyes and is used to help them clean their faces.

sad.gif

his tear is very different from other gp. before he died, i saw his eye the day before got the dried tear, like when we human when our eye infected, keep coming out tear one. Other gp very clean clean wan. But his eye got dried tear.

Added on February 28, 2010, 5:37 pmis it because he seldom clean himself because he's still weak?
