Actually there are seven Citibank branches here. All in the Peninsular Malaysia and none in East Malaysia.

Citibank will open another four branches next year. Three of these new branches will be in Klang Valley and another one in Kuantan. I wondered why they chose Kuantan instead of other states such as Perak, Sabah or Sarawak. May be because the current prime minister is a Pahang native  rolleyes.gif

hopefully they'll open one in USJ area

Recently I tried to cancel my Standard Chartered Visa Business Platinum.  Today SCB called me back and said according to the terms and conditions, all SCB cards cannot be cancelled for the first year.  So I guess I'm stuck with it until my card reaches 1 year old which is August 2010... bye bye RM50...
*
are u sure? i managed to cancelled my SCB master plat (both principal and sub) recently, both the cards were applied in March this year
I still have my SCB business plat though, will call to cancel middle of Dec if still no announcement to absorb the RM50

I'm guessing next year they'll impose the RM50 immediately when you sign up for a credit card. Btw, who do we pay the RM50 to? Banks or income tax? Or mail cash to PM's house? lol
*
i think bank will be the collecting agent

either way, its a good practice for us to discard what we do not need. Don't you agree? Although I'm pretty sure that is not what the gov was aiming for laugh.gif

Regarding the credit card tax, I personally think that it is wiser to charge the tax over the 3RD CARD ONWARDS for any cardholder. This will definitely be more effective in controlling the number of cards and not affecting the economy of the market.

Man, why are we having such stupid goverment.

To Najib or the Finance Minister (duno wat is his name), if you are reading this thread right now, go and rework the plan.
*
or at least RM50 per bank (then we can hv multiple cards from one bank)
but since the gov so broke, no choice lor

Bear in mind that for MAS, the plane used is older, IFE is very limited compared to SIA's Krisworld. Foods are also better on SIA compared to MAS.
It is still free for life with absolute no condition. But very soon there will be no more free for life cards   cry.gif
you're very generous
most of their flight (even 6 hours to Beijing) has no personal IFE set, you'll have to watch the lousy shared screen with no option of movies and songs sweat.gif

How did you cancel yours?  When I call up, they said I can't cancel it within the first year.  What can I do?

if they insist, you shud also insist that them fax/mail/email you the copy of tnc with your signature on it
i think they'll back down

maybe the cs din have a gd day when he/she took your call

when i called, it's smooth, not even asking why i wanted to cancel

As for paying using cheque, yes there is a "fee" for each cheque but is it much cheaper than transferring funds online where there is a charge of RM2 if not mistaken.
each chq cost RM0.15, and don't forget the stamp (RM0.30) to post the chq to the bank
and most importantly, ur chq might get lost in the mailing process or reach the bank late:shakehead:

hence IBG is the safest way to go

I do not trust those contests. Last time I spent a lot using HLB and Citibank CCs in overseas but I never won anything from them. 3 months ago I received a message from MasterCard informing that my spending with SCB MasterCard made me in the running to win a prize in the MasterCard Mega Sale contest. But since then I have not been receiving any more news from them.
*
u received the same?
i've sent in my online account summary (since the latest statement is not yet available at the time) but yet to receive the shopping voucher
i thk just forget it rolleyes.gif

If cheques are a necessity you may consider some accounts with free cheques, such as Alliance Bank's AllianceSave.  It's a current+savings account with ATM card, online facilities and free cheque books.  Cheques come in handy sometimes...

i oledi have 2 chq books, MBB and SCB
hmm.gif ,alliancesave gv free cheques huh, i'll chk it out when my current chq finish

if you really want the proof, buy one item using credit card
then buy the same item again using cash after that

now you hv two receipts with the same item on the same day with different prices

but who's willing to do this??

I recently posted a dispute to my bank challenging AirAsia's convenience fee. If that fails then I'll highlight the issue with VISA/Mastercard International and let's hear the official word on this.

Let's see how that will work out.

Let's just wait and see
i thk Visa/Master don't dare to take action coz they are afraid to lose merchants oso wink.gif

ok thanks. another question after i login to my PBB online acct. under balance inquiry or transaction history got credit card / debit card. when i clicked nothing bt gray screen written your request could not be executed.

what i need to do so that i can view the balance n transaction history?
*
go to public bank and fill in a form to add the cc to your online banking
this is the most troublesome bank, other banks either will show up automatically or can manually add in the ob

I beg to differ. I personally like such system as this ensures maximum privacy. Some of us only want to view certain accounts but most of the online banking offerings here in Malaysia will show everything in our online banking account    doh.gif    Troublesome bank ? Yes i agree. But if that means more privacy for their customers then i don't mind at all    thumbup.gif
*
Yes, hence I use the word troublesome.
I agreed on the privacy part, so it would be great if they have a feature to let the user add/delete their accounts in ob

among the online bankings i've used so far, only HLB has this feature

i think PBB is the best bank... i terminated their credit cards and within 2-3 days they have sopped me from viewing the account online.

Maybank took me 1-2 months....

in this context, yes - they are super efficient
btw, my mbb cards which has been terminated few months ago still showing up in M2U

Actually I think this maximum privacy thing is accidental.  PB requires customers to visit their banks on many things which should and could be done online.  Like their online FD, once you requested for it, you have to go to the branch to pick up your cert.  What the hell, the reason I place an FD online is so that I don't have to go to the branch!  Hopeless.  If I could go to the branch, I'd place the FD there physically lah.
*
couldn't agreed more, but at least we have the consolation of going to the branch and just pick up the cert instead of filling a form there and wait ....

and i doubt master/visa will do anything

coz they could have sent their ppl to any IT stores at lowyat to chk but they didn't

Ya lor. In my case it was AirAsia who is doing this monkey business. I don't think I can afford to boycott them coz the alternative is to go for full price airlines.

and i can't imagine master/visa taking any action on them
imagine the loss for master/visa if airasia were to pull out from their services
