adoi.. even with drogba we unable to score, how do we settle after this. plus the absence of malouda next match. and yeah, seems like first time lampard being subbed out. heard the commentator something about "no passion to play"...

IIANM, now arsenal can be level points with us if they win thier games in hand.. sad.gif

hm..i think ancelotti is trying to rotate the player but it seem to have negative effect..maybe they play in condition too cold until they become clueless >.<

the team really must get all three points on next match 28th december. and ancelotti, please dont be so relax up there when the team havent taste a win for quite some time now..

was really disappointed with malouda for the pointless tackled and eventually got sending off........when the team would push all the way during stoppage time for the win... :|

i think the whole team looked like an average team instead of a team gunning for the title, a big four team.

what a disappointing performance.

we do not have the firepower to score goals. even if anelka was around, i dont think it would be any different either. we cannot break a compact defense. thats our weakness. and come on, whats with our running speed, our counter attacks? stopped half way, looks like last season's team, only playing outside the box with no penetration, no results.

Diamond again. Where new tactic Mr Ancelotti? Already know the starting lineup, the formation even the game not start yet

I think we should tweak with the tactics a little instead of diamond all the time. Our diamond didnt function with good efficiency this time. sad.gif. With drogba, kalou, mikel heading for ANC and essien injured. We must be prepared that we have only 1 reliable and experienced striker available(anelka). Joe cole could step up as a second striker behind anelka if needed. Sturridge still not confident enough tho. I think we might be looking into january transfer for a striker. Pavlyuchenko sounds good.

But i think we will stay with 4-4-2 diamond, it's the tactic ancelotti has been sticking with all the time.

Yup, it happened again! Scolari and Ancelotti using the same formation all season and opponent can easily overcome the tactic. Only Mourinho and Hiddink know how to handle Chelsea. For me, Chelsea need width. Still remember when Robben, Duff can easily bombard to opponent defense by their speed.

we had our chances today. i don't think anybody can deny that. alex hit the crossbar, studge missed a tap-in, kalou drew a brilliant save from joe hart when he was through 1 on 1, and malouda miskicked 8 yards away from goal. any sort of formation change will NOT have any impact on how well players finish in the penalty box. oh midfield was non-existent btw. lamps was deservedly subbed, but what i and most of us here couldn't understand is how the hell beletti and malouda completed a full 90 mins. shocking. absolutely shocking.

i'm actually quite glad malouda received a red card in the end as carlo will be FORCED to use zhirkov in the next match.
maybe he has something against russian players? man of the match today goes to mikel and that just exemplifies how pathetic we were in front of the opposition's goal. kalou came on and had 10 times more of an impact than our whole lacklustre midfield combined. joe cole and bally actually made our midfield cohesion worse, and its such a pity mikel had to come off, as he'd earned the right to complete the full 90 mins. ashley cole contributed nothing in attack, and wasn't much better in defense either. studge was decent, but the tap in he missed certainly indicates he's not the finished article yet. didier's head looked like it was already on the ACN, another dismal performance from him which underlines how we're over reliant on the big man.

terry had a good game, ivanovic was on par with mikel as our best performer, alex won everything there was to win in the air, and cech was superb.

cech - 8
ashley cole - 5
terry - 7.5
alex - 8.0
ivanovic - 8.5
mikel - 8.5
lampard - 4
beletti - 2.5
malouda - 2.0
sturridge - 6.5
drogba - 5.5

subs

kalou - 8.5
joe cole - 5
ballack - 4.5

wouldn't be shocked if fulham beat us at home in midweek. brace yourselves fellas. just hope for the best! smile.gif

well, just want to comment about the diamond formation. i believe its has been ancelotti' formation since his days in milan. (4-3-1-2)
i think lampard is not really suitable at the position at the top of the diamond (that -1- in the formation). its because of his style of play i suppose.
compared with milan, his playing style is quite similar to pirlo (minus the defensive approach) so i guess lampard is best in that -3-.
his currrent position, behind the striker, require creativity, same like yesterday match, player like joe cole.

and about the winger, we all know CA doesnt play winger (again, same in milan)

well, not really the same case IMO. last season, we can trash average team, but struggled against top teams as example against other big4.
while this season, as we all know, still maintain 100% record against other title rivals.

the diamond has got to change. Carlo should rotate his formation sometimes. Everytime play diamond until so many team know how to exploit

Our manager did break some good news in the post-match press conference by informing the awaiting journalists that both Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba will not depart for the African Cup of Nations until 29 December

That means they'll both be available for the Fulham game on Monday, although Ancelotti also admitted Nicolas Anelka will not play against our London neighbours.
and also here ...
