wohoo a very crucial win for the team. satisfied with overall performance but cech still shaky. he seems to lose control of his own defense line. should be a commander in defending.

vey very very satisfied with zhirkov performance. zhirkov = godlike. he didnt misplaced his pass. did not lose possession. jynx run = superb. direct run = superb. looks like flomo really need to work harder. if not, sure zhirkov will take over.

wohhooo cannot describe how satisfied i am with the win. YAAAAY!

the current team is strong already but i wont hurt to get one or two 'utility' players that can play many position. i'm sure everyone is aware that if arsenal won their in-hand game, we only have one point advantage at the top of the league. any misfortune can cause us the title if injury hits the team..

hope the team can conjure up a big win against hull so that it will give a morale boost in new year.

KTBFFH!!

agree with kerplunk and ichighost on drogba and anelka. for me, they complement each other. they are the best strikers pairing in the world.

in my opinion, when playing with two strikers, they must know how to create space for his partner to score / make an attempt on goal. drogba surely attract at least two defenders to handle him and this give space for anelka, as well as space for our midfielders (especially lampard, who usually arrive late in the box). anelka on the other hand quite different from drogba. he has iced cool composure and a great vision. his dribbling and jynx can kill off defender's pace and thus creating space behind the line.

di santo is in the same mold with drogba while studge (and maybe borini) is in the same mold of anelka. hopefully the seniors can teach and motivate their future successor.

UP THE BLUES!!

i dont think lampard is lazy. i prefer to assume that is the new tactic under ancelotti. since ancelotti become manager, lampard doesn't have the freedom he use to have like before. but still at certain time, he sure have the opportunity to have a go inside the penalty box

although i'm quite dissapointed he doest score as frequent as before, he still do the job well. that is more important. when being in a team, the team preferences should come on top of individual preferences. in easy word, as long as the team keep winning, lampard surely will be satisfied. getting on the scoresheet should be a bonus for him ^^

Added on January 19, 2010, 10:30 pmjust watch borini action on youtube..damn, that guy really have eyes for goals hehe

maybe loaning him to other club where he can get first team experience will prove beneficial in the long run

he did play for the first team but only restricted for cameo appearance in the champions league and epl. this is good for him. at the age of 18 (or maybe 19) this kind of exposure can help the youngster mature.

i believe what aw13 trying to emphasize is about consistencies of the youngsters to do their magic week in, week out, in order to get first team chances. firgive me if i'm wrong in interpreting your post.

this is really true in the current world of football which is soo demanding. in order to culture the consistencies of the youngsters (as said by aw13), the youngster must be exposed to 'true' games like carling cup and fa cup (as said by madfag). youngsters used to play in the reserve squad where i believe the competition (within the reserve squad, and between teams) is not that strong as compared to the real football world. that's why at least in certain occasion, the must be exposed to epl matches so they can have a taste on what real football is (the robustness, accumulation of fatigue, fans pressure, atmosphere, etc)

so, its all depend on ancelotti to determine how much exposure our youngster can have. without enough exposure, their magic will fade away. furthermore, we need to remember that nowdays the MASS MEDIA also play important part in the development of youngsters. they usually come up with stupid stories to unsettle the youngster and managers must know how to divert the media attention from the young player. one manager that excel at this is without doubt JM. he create strories of his own, about his own life and thus the media more interested in him rather than the players hehe

its top of the league. looks like lampsy found his shooting boots he lost in the dressing room or something. joey cole and malouda with some defense breaking dribbling and anelka, always so good, so consistent, he eats defenders for breakfast!

anyone saw that awesome save by cech? biggrin.gif

after reading many articles and comments from various source, i'm totally behind our captain. after all, he is human and human do make mistake. what is more important in the case of JT as a football player is that he do his job well on the pitch. i'm positive JT will not be stripped from his captaincy, be it for the national team or Chelsea.

I just watch the match highlight against inter. Overall, I would say Mourinho really know how to deal with our team. Inter is well organize and they take the opportunity that is presented to them to punish us. However, I'm confident the team can turn the tide in our favor in the coming leg.

Regarding Hilario, let just hope he will do fine as our last defensive line. Have faith in him.

QUOTE(Ivan Sac @ Mar 2 2010, 05:52 PM)
IMO I think age plays an important role for a club..Not to say that old AGE players cannot perform at all..
They have their own responsibilities..They have the experience which can be used to guide the youngsters..
To be fair a team should consist of an experienced player (those who are in peak of their career, age around 27 - 33) and few young bloods as well...
*
Totally agree with Ivan Sac. Honestly, I hate Man U by the composition in their team is enviable. They got senior player like van der Sar and Ryan Giggs to hold the team together during hard time. This senior player usually act as OTAI in the team so that the young blood cannot get ahead of themselves. And most importantly, senior players usually have big reputations that make young players in the same team look up to them and thus making them more ambitious.

It is not my intention to put down our own club. Our team and AC Milan is quite same, although Milan is a lot worse in term of average age. Arsenal have sooo many young blood but they don't have a senior player to guide them. They got Gallas but that guy like to scold people. There is also other senior player but their achievement is so-so. Liverpool have a lot of potential as well as Man U. Sorry for those who is angry with my comment but, this is fact. You can have determination to win (senior players) but you cannot win matches without speed, flair, stamina and creativity which usually own by the young players. The chemistry of the team should be right to achieve the club's goal and it wouldn't hurt to learn from others.

The likes of Ballack and Belleti should be a bench warmers. Maybe Ballack can be a super-sub like Giggs. Who knows hehe

Like Mourinho always say, Cech, Terry, Lampard and Drogba is the spine of the team. These guys got glittering carrier to backed up their image so that young player could learn from them. Carvalho, Ashley Cole, Essien and Anelka are considered as professional to complete the team. Gives the young player ample time to experience the real football so that they can find their much needed rythm for the future of the club
