is the throttling issues gave an impact on gameplay or is it just restricted to benchmarking only?.....coz so far i haven't encountered any low fps issues playing heavy 3d games.....

Hey guys , what's the spec of M15X are you guys having typically ? Im kinda interested in M15X because it looks really cool . . but not much in gaming i do , just wondering if the very basic package of M15X is good enough ?  hmm.gif

and where did you guys buy your AW laptop ? buy online from US or Dell.MY ? and do they have global waranty .. ? ? I dont know where should i order from ??
*
well for me basic package is not enough...the minimum u should get is upgrade to GTX260M and 4G ram....or else it would not be an optimum gaming laptop experience....my 2 cents....

you can order it from dell malaysia but do not go thru the 'normal' way ordering online...chat with the sales advisor...they will give you abit of discounts and some freebies...if you're lucky like me...hohoho

oh there is really such a good thing  rclxms.gif
what about the waranty stuff .. Am just afraid things like , when there's something wrong, the laptop has to be sent back to Malaysia (if buy from Malaysia) . . I am currently in England, found that buying from US is cheaper due to currency . .  hmm.gif
*
well warranty is the most important in any laptops....even the good ones...if you think that you will be in england for a long time (more than 3 years) you should buy from there....if let say you'll be there less than that...just buy it from malaysia and get a 3 years complete cover....and if your m15x kong in england during that time (touchwood...this case rarely happens for this top of the line lappy) you can just get a cheap laptop for a temporary replacement and claim for free repairs when u get back to malaysia....

i tot dell's warranty is international warranty ? o.O
*
well....i think its international warranty but you need to fill up a global transfer form if you plan to stay there for more than 6 months....kinda like transfer of ownership but in this case you transfer your service tag to another country...got it for dell's website...quite a hassle i think....

* The International Notebook Service is for customers who are traveling with their notebooks for a period of less than 6 months. Any period of time longer than 6 months requires a Global Tag Transfer to be completed .

wow.. contact which sales advisor? contatc no pls..  icon_idea.gif
*
no..no need the contact number....just click the LIVE CHAT button on your right hand side when you make an order an chat with one of the sales advisor there....and my tactic is.....please be polite when asking for discounts....and surely they will give it to you...not much (about 4-5%) but still it something rite....and if you be a little bit persuasive...in a polite way mind you....you might get extra freebies....i manage to get a 17" targus bag AND a Dell bluetooth mouse for FREE....

mind to teach us how? to ask politely? tongue.gif

Excuse me.. hmm since i spent so much on this system is there any rebates and free gifts? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
*
they might reply to you...i'm afraid not since the price is already standard price as in the website....

you can counter back with this..."well, i'm an avid supporter for Dell and all my friends recommended me to get this system since Dell is well known for its high built quality laptops as well as unmatched warranty....my family owns a few of Dell products as well....therefore, i do hope that you could give me some discounts for my first Dell product...."

there are other tactics to get the free gifts....but you can try that one first hohoho

since it cannot be switch on at all, i am guessing its maybe your mobo..

Yup i think there is no issues with temp since i'm using zalman's to cool it off expecting long hours of gaming session. It just went off suddenly...thought maybe it was a blackout but the light outside was on...hmmm if i called them tomorrow morning...will they come in later in the after noon or the day after....haihz thought alienware is the top of the line lappy....

Why bro? Did you call 1800-88-5784 ? There never close IIRC. Prepare you express code for verification, then your service tag. Don't worry bro, just an extra day late but you'll get your unit fixed no matter...  icon_rolleyes.gif

I was just reading the link on Fudzilla : http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/17325/65/

Looks like NVidia's GF100 aka Fermi has good benchmarks but we'll have to wait till it comes out later. March probably? Benchmarks whacks the Ati 5870... http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardw...roscope-13.html     hmm.gif

Hoho no wonder...i called the general line 1800881306...never knew they had a dedicayed number...pardon my ignorance...will call them ASAP.

Added on February 1, 2010, 6:37 pmJust called Dell using julchin's number. They even willing to come to my office and fix it...i'll be receiving a fresh new mobo on wednesday yesss...

Guys. Just finished servicing my m15x. They came to my office and change few things which are:
1. The mobo
2. The graphic card GTX260M
3. The ac adaptor
after serviced and started the lappy for the first time, the lappy would not start with ac power. Have to wait a moment for the power to discharge itself...on back and voila my beast is ALIVE!!!
now have to monitor it for a few days.

P.S: yup just change it to GTX260M instantly after realizing the mistake...man...you're quite fast...should have been a moderator....smile.gif
