I am actually relieved because we are just 3 points behind

For me a draw or a lost is not much different, both still drop points smile.gif

Looking at the game, we are not that bad. Villa played really well and block all the chances we had. We can do better though on a few occasion.... Owen never really get the chances after he's in and it seems the midfield are missing something for the strikers to shine. Wings were never effective with Park seldom getting in the crosses but he's decent on his other part of the game. Valencia seems to be off as well but the Villa guy guarding him is doing very well

The ball's fast and the striker just dashed into the area and headed(guess how fast and how much aggresiveness is needed to battle agbonlahor), if there was a defender much strength+little climbing would be needed and such situation easily can caused a foul. So yeah, the goalie's to do his job....

You can see that agbonlahor hold off brown earlier, and vidic was busy behind marking someone else...

Not much of a help from Brown when he jogged back just in time to witness the goal. Both of our CBs were below par yday, understandably since they just returned from injury. Fletcher on the other hand was just unable to cope with Young's speed and trickery, though it wasn't his natural position.

Btw, is this the first time SAF played 3 strikers?

Nah i didn't change the blame. Yeah the mistake came when agbonlahor managed to hold off brown. He was then free to make a header.

You are right, we are not that bad... maybe missing some lady luck infront of goal.
A few very close chances that able to change the outcome like Rooney hitting the bar, Giggs side netting, Vidic header from corner, Berbatov & Carrick miskick in the box vmad.gif
Well Villa is currently in 3rd position, this can ease our pain a little considering Man Utd just lost to a top team club with very solid defensive tactic hahaha laugh.gif

It wasn't even the keeper's mistake. I dont think even VDS can save that ball.

Boss: One of those days

QUOTE
Sir Alex Ferguson bemoaned United's luck in front of goal following the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa, but he was quick to praise the heroic efforts of the visitors' defence.

Gabriel Agbonlahor's first half header secured a first win for Villa at Old Trafford for 26 years. After a fairly even opening period, United bossed proceedings after the break but were unable to make their domination count.

"We were camped in their box for a lot of the second half and had some really good chances. We only needed to take one to get us back in the game and it might have changed from then on; it was just one of those days when it wouldn't go in," Sir Alex told MUTV.

"I think we deserved something from our second half showing. There wasn't much in it in the first half and there were chances at both ends. They probably just shaded it and deserved the goal. But we pummelled them after half-time and had a lot of good opportunities but didn't take any.

"Their defenders worked their socks off and they deserve full credit for that," he added. "They were closing down players, blocking shots... doing everything they could. It was a big strong effort by them."

The defeat was United's fourth of the campaign and a particularly frustrating one after the Reds had seen Chelsea drop two points earlier in the day at home to Everton.

"It's not an easy league. Teams will drop points - that's a fact of life," admitted the boss. "As I say time and time again though, if we're within touching distance of the leaders come January then we're in with a great chance.
"Hopefully we can put the Villa game behind us and get the result we need on Tuesday against Wolves."

We Have Money To Spend - Manchester United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson

Fergie spills that the Red Devils have the cash for January sales...

QUOTE
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has detailed that his club have a reasonable amount of financial reserves for the January transfer period.

With a defensive crisis snowballing for the Red Devils, recent speculation has thrown Sol Campbell into the mix for potential buys to fill the current void.

But Ferguson has quashed such claims, insisting that 35-year-old Campbell isn't on his agenda.

He also stating that the club - who are currently staring down the barrel of a £790million debt - have the means to make use of the winter transfer window, telling the Press Association:  "It has been said I do not have the money so I want to get someone cheap. It is nonsense."

"I don't know where the Sol Campbell story came from. He has had a great career but he is not of any interest to us.

Ferguson predicted the club's injury crisis to alleviate come January when key players regain fitness, meaning he may not resort to the transfer market.

He added: "I am happy with the players I already have at the club. At this moment we are having a hard time with the centre-backs but I am sure by January we will have most of them will be back.

"The money is there if I wanted to use it. I didn't see any value in the summer and I don't see any value now either."

I think we have nothing to blame with our recent defeat. No doubt Aston Villa is the better side but we had done our part as well.

I don't think we should blame that Fergie arranged Wazza as lone striker. We won West Ham 4-0, hammered Portsmouth 4-1 with Wazza at up front.
We do not know we will lost today, we do not know Rooney won't score today. We are just a bit unlucky.

The conceded was caused by defending mistake, but at least it was not stupid mistake. I think overall we are doing quite well in defending, just a bit careless when Ashley Young crossed the ball and Gabriel Agbonlahor was unmark unfortunately.

I known some our our fans criticised Park Ji-Sung and asked him to leave during winter. I think it was to harsh.
Park has decent performing but at least he is hard working, team working, less mistake, and tireless. I think he should stay in club and play as rotational.

Anderson wasn't have good game. But I believe he is a good player. Give him more chances. If we sell him, who is the replacement? I do agree to sell him off if we get playmaker like Lionel Messi or Steven Gerrard.

Since we had drop points, I hope Liverpool could win against Arsenal. As United fans, I hate Liverpool the most but we need their help today tongue.gif

We will move on.

COME ON UNITED!!!!

I do agree. It was not GK fault.
Even I don't think we should condemn Wes Brown also, this kind of "careless" could happen to every defender.

I think Tomasz Kuscszak is doing quite well when he get a chance to play.
One of our friend here proposed to changed GK?
I do very agree.....Let's bid for Ikal Casillas, Gianluigi Buffon or maybe Petr Cech is pretty good also. LOL~

More accurately, lack of concentration, I blame it on the lack of games under his belt. The commentators yday said something about Vidic being a totally different player after Torres' nightmare last season, I think it's abit unfair for Vidic since he is constantly in and out of the team due to injuries. They are probably ABU cool2.gif

Petr Cech of late is not any better than PIG.

Bro, I do agree with you.
I think top class defender would make mistake sometime. When he do 1 mistake (and cost our defeat), we still have to appreciate his 20 brilliant stops in previous 10 games.

Petr Cech is not better than PIG, haha....you are so arrogant (I'm just kidding)....
But I must agree with you also. Cech have just scored and own goal last night. HAHAHAHA
