usually that's wat happen to a highback lo..max is level 5 full shine...then level6 scale and head part will be a dark coloured..wont go up want...the different btwn highback and RTG is jz slight different
RTG will go up to like 4.5level scale
while highback will reach full level 5
then RTG gold shine will be dimmer compare to highback..but they will looks exactly the same if u didnt look carefully..

a highback will never reach that shine...but still, the picture u caught are all blurry up..try to snap some clearer one, then i can tell u

the reason to tear off cricket legs is becoz at times, cricket legs could tangle to ur arowana.s mouth and their legs had spike,and the tiny little spike could hurt ur aro, giving them a scratch..so the best to feed ur aro with cricket is pulling off it's leg and crush it's head
why crush it head..since ur aro is still small..they cant wholly swallow up the cricket..unless a much bigger aro could swallow it in one go..so SOMETIMES, ur juvenile aro couldnt swallow it all, the cricket will at chances tries to bite ur aro as self defense, hence will causes injury to ur juvenile aro..
Some sifu tot me this..as a precaution if ur aro is still a juvenile..crush cricket head, and pull of it's leg..safer..

hey hey..comparing this to ur method of wanna open up the froggies mouth and stuff pellet into it's mouth...same gross level...

frenly, urs is xback gold le..wont turn out liddat...and a, ur previous picture, i detect a scale without shine, i strongly suggest u to fed ur aro with mp cutlet once a week, coz prawn can enchant aro's scale
colour, giving it more shine and also repair their scale much faster...no need feed mp everyday, once a week is good edi...coz if u feed to much mp, could lead to disease...

Especially super red..but what i believe is a, their good piece are all sent to other lfs..

Like today, i trade in my grade 2 red..then the lfs told me that XL farm worker sent him some mms,
showing him some chilli/blood red pic which is nice..so i strongly believe nice pieces are usually shipped to outside..and not sold in XL itself..if u are finding for red, try kin fatt, kepong
they shipped their fishes themselves..red they ship from indon and are way cheaper than XL..chilli red 1.9k..hehe..good quality samo..

coz i got my UV filter where the water goes thru it, any bacteria that goes thru it will die... cost me RM250, on promotional price..Laguna brand, 3 years warranty...coz usually these kinda go thru UV filter,
will cost like RM300++ better one will cost like RM700 ++
