Added on July 10, 2010, 12:24 amany sifu can help me?
should i let my goldie in pure white tank till 12inch and then only i transfer it into a white bg with black base tank?

or there isn't any problem putting it into a white bg with black base tank for a juvenile goldie?

coz i afraid the black base would stop the gold shine from growing more or even crossing it's back

Hey Aro Lovers, need some help here. I'm covering arowana for Petster Magazine and by far, I only know Bkt Merah got Arowana farms. Do you guys know of other Arowana farms? Please advice. Thanks a billion!
*
erm, johor batu pahat is xian leng farm..malacca is king kong farm...but so far the biggest arowana farm in malaysia is in bukit merah..the arowana over there total up to 1billion plus plus.. lol
believe it anot...

Good afternoon all, I just moved into my new place. Looking to setup my arowana tank. I went to Kepong Legend shop for a look. Impressive fishes. Quite a number of Blood/Chili Red Arowana. Was quoted RM1600- RM2k per fish. Was also quoted RM 1500 for a 5 feet by 2 feet aquarium. Fair price? I have lost touch with fishes as pet. Need to do a lot of read up before I actually purchase an aro.
*
u try checking out kin fatt...u know kepong the caltex there? nearby legend arowana also want...caltex petrol station there u turn in..kin fatt is on your left opposite those car workshop..
if u really want your aro to be in good size, try getting 6 ft x 3 ft x 3ft..if u can afford it..lol..the tank only would cost u 1k plus...hehe~
but at least get 6 x 2 x 2 la better than 5...
if u are looking for blood/ chilli a, i think so far kin fatt have some good quality of blood/chilli... check out my chilli red from kin fatt..

bought it for RM1900 with cert and chipped..fish is imported from indonesia, kalimantan

How much did you paid for a low grade red?

I also have thoughts of getting the traditional Golden Arowana. What is it called now? I was at Legend, he quoted me in Cantonese 'High Back' For about RM 1K only.
*
high back a....1k is a piece withour chip and cert...a highback with chip and cert will cause ya like 1.8k...
golden arowana distinguish by certain types...
there is highback(lowest grade of gold)
then crossback above 3.5k...depends on quality
and now a new breed, gold head...4.5k and above..

QUOTE(beyond @ Jul 11 2010, 03:24 PM)
@eugene Its about 5 inches. Quite small. But he said they have bigger specimen too.

I just came back from Kien Fat Kepong. The aro on display was very impressive. Huge and majestic. I looked around the shop. Couldnt find a super red/Chilli on sale. Only some 1/2 and 2nd grade red at RM 350. Also on display are some aro priced around 6.5 K.
*
sure is a gold head....kin fatt they get their fish this way, this batch red aro, consist of chilli red, blood or super red...
then next batch gold...and so on..

if u guys really wanna get an arowana, go walk like 10-20 aquarium shop before u get one... lol
coz u will have to see and understand them..or else u will get one that u do not desire for once u know them better..
actually wanna explain these in words are kinda hard..u have to see for urself.. biggrin.gif
i been looking around for aro since early of this year...been to more then 20 lfs..but still looking on...still lots to learn.. hmm.gif

Agree with Leong. Since your tank is small, 600L flow might created too strong current for your aro to handle.

Wow, so many aros you've there bro.  notworthy.gif  Looks like your aro's price is well updated bro.  biggrin.gif
Regarding ur question, in my practice I've more trust in the aro gene itself. If it is XB, sure i will crossed no matter in what tank you put it in. Its just a matter of time. wink.gif
*
lol...ok ok, thanks for ur advice!! biggrin.gif
oh yea, have u heard of ppl feeding their aro with bettas fighting fishes once awhile...they tend to say that bettas have natural high colour intensity, so they said by feed that to ur aro could boost aro's
colour intensity...have u ever heard of that?
a dad's fren told me...then i went to ask the lfs, they said so also...i wonder anyone else ever heard of this

i think becoz of my tank is a small tank, 2ftx1ft only...maybe i should wait until he grow up maybe 6-7 inch...really kesian to watch him swimming like that, kena tarik by the current sweat.gif
hmm...but still i am afraid lor...maybe later in another month see how, i will try to install the internal water filter back...hehehe..at least not wasting the money, just bought the internal filter not in the good time blush.gif

owh ya, how much current price for 6-7" HB now? can get around RM600-700?
*
HB a..no cert around RM900..but kinda hard to find one without cert..with cert about 8 inch is around RM1800

QUOTE(helangkawi @ Jul 14 2010, 03:07 PM)
eh guys,
if you gonna leave your 4 inch arowana for 3 days without anybody going to feed cricket, what life food will you choose?

fishes (ikan longkang or ikan kap)
shrimp (udang putih)

and how much u will buy it, RM1 or RM2

coz i am going for holiday, and will leave my 4 inch YT bout 3 days

suggest me please
*
u like lo..jz that if u wanna put in feeder fish, my suggestion is, turn off lighting, include ur room lighting, dont give it any light, so that it wouldn't use it's eyes, hence no DE chances will happen
meanwhile, it will only rely on it's barble to sense for food.... =)
better dun put shrimp..later the razor horn struck ur aro's stomach, it will dies,...

@jamestan...erm, how to say a...say u are coming in from sungai besi highway, u will come across a cross junction below a bridge with traffic light right? that's the bridge lo...from that directions,
the shoplots i've mentioned is on ur left side...facing the big road..
