am presuming you aren't in msia currently? cos those that rate Ramlee higher than the rest are usually overseas for studying or work or migrated...so they miss the stuff we grow up with...i was like that during my years studying overseas...even simple thing like roti canai was king!  smile.gif

Yeap, studying at the UK.
Can't wait to go back to Malaysia and pig out.

I can't imagine staying and working overseas.

The meat patti?

Road side burgers use those ramli patties, lots of MSG.

I prefer those with minced meat.

BTW, Tried Ninja Joe's pork burgers. Taste not bad, but its TOO SMALL!!!! and for about RM6, its not worth it la. Its also a family business. I saw got one lenglui help clean the table, so manja, and so slow...adoi...

I've only tried the outlet in Timesquare and Sunway Pyramid. Beef burger was awesome. The chicken so-so only. Avoid the baked potato. Its like flour mixed with water wrapped in my Ripcurl leather belt.

On a different note, if you're out for good and cheap baked potatoes, look no further than KFC's. I've only tried the one in their headquarters(KuchaiLama) and it was fantastic!!

Oh how i miss Shake Em Buns in Causeway Bay. Their menu consists of titles with sexual innuendos...not a good place for family gatherings  sweat.gif

KFC baked potato is no longer available, hu hu.

Most of Tex-Mex outlet using minced meat. Their portion also are big and worth Rm20+ you paid for. The best burger for me so far was either Hard Rock or Daily Grind but they are more expensive. For normal price burger, TGIF are good choice smile.gif

The road side burgers using Ramly patties or other brands have high fat content as well (at least 20% fat). But when making burgers, you can't have too low fat content, as the natural fat in the meat is what helps the burger cook nicely and taste good. I've made my own burgers using high quality beef (both lean low-fat meat, and "normal" meat), and found that the low-fat beef does not taste as good as the "normal" beef.

For healthy burgers, make your own (there are many good recipes, including a nice one from Jamie Oliver), but usually its more convenient to just buy one. I admit to buying some nice road side burgers (past favourites: Ramly at Kg Baru near the mosque, Ramly at Bandar Tun Razak near BHP petrol station; current favourite: Otai at Desa Sri Hartamas), once in a while. Tastes good after all (probably the MSG, laugh.gif ).
