QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 4 2009, 03:33 PM) Darabif... they have a fairly large stall right at the entrance to Hartamas Square, where the stairs are. They also have an outlet in Damansara Uptown, a shoplots away from the police station. Their burgers come in sets as well. Try the lamb burger. I have a look at their menu. Look tempting but didn't try yet. Will try after you said so. |

QUOTE(happy4ever @ Dec 20 2009, 08:03 PM) The meat patti? Most of Tex-Mex outlet using minced meat. Their portion also are big and worth Rm20+ you paid for. The best burger for me so far was either Hard Rock or Daily Grind but they are more expensive. For normal price burger, TGIF are good choice Road side burgers use those ramli patties, lots of MSG. I prefer those with minced meat. BTW, Tried Ninja Joe's pork burgers. Taste not bad, but its TOO SMALL!!!! and for about RM6, its not worth it la. Its also a family business. I saw got one lenglui help clean the table, so manja, and so slow...adoi... |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Feb 4 2010, 03:23 PM) You are right about the fat content. The world famous burger joint standard for it burger is 20% fat. Without this fat your burger will taste like cardboard. It won't be juicy or tasty. Which is why nowadays we have seller adding mayo to enhance the flavor. We all know mayo is made mainly from oil. The patty you mentioned are expensive I also do know some roadside burger stall use the cheap '10%' product. The 10% signifies only 10% of the patties is the real meat content! The rest are mostly flour with additives, fillers, color and flavoring. Did you notice how red some burgers are! And this is even after cooking! If you cooked real red meat, it will turn brown but not this special burgers. So guys do watch out. For those who don't want to mess around mixing the lean meat and fat meat. And if you like McD's Quarters which is 100% beef, loves to cook and like to eat it fresh at home, you can buy the patties at major hypermarket. It is label under 'First Pride' in the frozen section. Same label for their chicken and fish nugget. The patties is very easy to cook. Use a flat non-stick pan. Once hot use only few drops of oil to grease the pan before frying the patty. Only 3 minutes for each side. It is like playing 'Cooking Mama' Once the patties are cooked, the bun toasted, how you want to set up your burger are up to you imagination! Enjoy! QUOTE(DarkNite @ Feb 5 2010, 07:56 AM) Expensive? No really if you actually go the the market and check the current price of imported beef. Then you should be asking how certain burger patty are so DIRT cheap. The question is 'Is there any meat at all in 'em patties'! Dirt? Haha...If compare to imported beef, then its cheapo lar. I meant expensive compare to Ramly burger. Those 1Pride/Marina Salisbury Steak are priced about Rm8+/4 patty while Ramly can get 10 dirt thin slice for just Rm5+. Of course grind imported meat for burger in Bangsar Grocer/Cold Storage are about Rm9+/100g which mean 1 sliced could be Rm8+. Like I mention do be careful as to what you are actually eating or drinking. Sometimes Bolehland Health and Veterinary Agencies are no better than China's agencies in controlling tainted food. |

QUOTE(Traveler @ Feb 5 2010, 10:19 AM) Of coz la there is difference. There's also a difference in the quality of meat. I seriously doubt that Ramly burger patties use high quality beef. Not at the price they are selling for, anyway. I've made burgers that are just as tasty using high quality imported ground beef (mixed with partly sauteed onions, coriander seeds, cumin, etc - as per Jamie Oliver's recipe). Costs more but I would say definitely much healthier. But once in a while still get the cravings for that street Ramly burger... variety is the spice of life! Oh well, I never know Jamie Oliver recipe works well |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Apr 14 2010, 09:35 AM) TR burgers - saw people try before (friend, sad opposite me) and he doesn't seem pleased. Not just TR Burgers, I don't like all dishes at TR except their shrimp appetizer. Look like you go try burger everywhere.haven't tried Gumps though but i go Gumps for Beef Ribs instead. Meatwork's burger was alright but i find it not "value for $$$". Betty's Midwest Kitchen's burger is alright, and for RM 15 it's quite some value for $$$. |
