Sorry 218.111 ip is gone , its very very hard to get. Last time its easy , its just that they ran out. Sure you may try complaining , complaining and complaining if you like. 218.111 ip gives you the best 1337 connectivity to anywhere , even to US. My god pings to US were amazing .

QUOTE(w3er @ May 19 2010, 11:09 PM) how come 218.111 can give godly ping but others cannot? Routing , 218.111 is one of the earliest IP range which TM ever owned I think and it so far offers the best connectivity to just about anywhere. Currently its reserved either for static IP or for some lucky 4Mbps users. Back in the days when streamyx was 384kbps/512kbps , mostly everyone did get this IP and thats why streamyx rocked. As then things started to get bigger and bigger you have more ip ranges , more routing and these routing do suck Sad news is that ever since CoolUniPack has been introduced and the new Broadband plans , its no longer possible to get these IP addresses anymore. Last time you could bug TM and they would assign to you. Now they wouldn't even do that as they have run out of 218. ip range (heh , its time to move on to ipv6). A lot of 4Mbps users are losing their 218.x.x.x godly IP Address. I am not sure why , you can try e-mailing TM by the way if you're a long time 4Mbps user ! Just tell that you're concerned about latency and not downloading and most likely they would give you. But then dont go and start downloading like there is no tomorrow , else they might kick you out of 218.x.x.x ip range and give you the crappy 115.

QUOTE(suffeylp @ May 20 2010, 11:01 PM) by default under modem config>dsl setting>capabilty enable SRA or Bitswap, or both? Enable both. I still gotta connivence them to set my cap back to 5Mbps and ever since they changed my DSLAM , my SNR Margin dropped !

QUOTE(ryantsl @ May 24 2010, 06:03 PM) The tmnet guy came and install the modem and setup 4mpbs package this morning. After he left, I checked the speed with speedtest it was only 1.4mpbs-1.5mpbs which is my old package speed. The modem did show Rate (Kbps): 4096/511 SNR Margin (dB): 30.8/28.3 Attenuation (dB): 21.0/8.6 Should I wait for couple days to lodge a complaint? thanks Very good SNR Margin but theres a lot of noise , so your download speed may suffer a bit. For upload looks good to me It takes 24-48hours for your speed to be activated. So tomorrow or day after tomorrow , simply turn off the modem for a while and turn it back on and reconnect , and you should get your 4Mbps !

QUOTE(ryantsl @ May 24 2010, 09:19 PM) Thanks all, I will try in the next 48 hours. Another question, is the free wifi modem by tm good enough? Or any recommend wireless modem router? Good enough , actually it can be hacked If you insist on having more control , try using wrt54g or its n variant and flash it with Tomato or DD-WRT !

QUOTE(milky @ May 25 2010, 01:31 PM) Downstream Upstream SNR Margin (dB) 19.4 28.4 Attenuation (dB) 39.0 21.5 Output Power (dBm) 19.0 12.0 Attainable Rate (Kbps) 8876 1233 Rate (Kbps) 4096 509 prasys is this consider ok or not ok? btw the innacomm can flash it ? if possible can direct me to the site? thanks Well I wouldn't recommend you to be capped at 5Mbps , for at that speed you should have good connection as in no disconnection or very rare disconnection. The Attenutation seems to be bit on higher side and the SNR Margin is just okay , not good , but just fair enough. Upload looks pretty good to me tho QUOTE(kkreg @ May 25 2010, 04:45 PM) ty for info but my Downstream Upstream only 3068(i cant find other with this speed....) is that mean my line only can go for 3mb only, so cant upgrade to 4mb ?? Can but most likely it will sync
