I'm experiencing exactly the same crap like u now
It's been more than one week and I'm still stucked at port 2046
Everytime I called 1300889515 they gave me the same answer 'we've done the upgrade'
Some even asked me to try to call the f**king contractor coz they give 14 days warranty
The best thing is, the f**king contractor did not even bother to pick up my call nor reply my sms!!!
That's the kind of lousy installers that TM appointed and left us furious  vmad.gif

Call 100 again and insist to speak to their second level support. They are the guys who can help you.

QUOTE(robinlim @ Dec 30 2009, 11:26 PM)
Had done that many times
They helped nuts
None of them were able to solve my problem

In the end my problem is finally solved today
I got my port set to 4095
The guy who helped me to solve the problem is not even one of those people sitting on the second level enjoying aircond
nor the f***king useless money-taken-bye-bye TM appointed installer
It is indeed the technician from TM

The reason why I did not get the port set to 4095 for the past one week while the second level people kept on saying that my port had been configured may times is very simple
They set the wrong port!!
And this was pointed out by the technician
because he found out the port number that I'm using does not tally with the port number provided in the service sheet
and he called to the respective department to reset my port with the actual port number
although it was not immediately upgraded
I logged on to the internet just now and found that it had been upgraded

I spoke with the technician why such a blunder could happen
he said maybe it was because the installer who came to check and activated my upgrade provided the wrong port number to TM

Hope my story can be shared to others that are facing the same problem like me
Insist on asking TM to send their own technician to your house to check
and ask them to check whether your port number tally with the one in the service sheet
it might be the same blunder done by the useless vendor
*
Thank you very much for sharing such a useful information. No wonder past few weeks, they keep saying already configured my port to 6Mbps but i unable to see it in my modem until the local technician come to check the port... then they fixed the problem after few hours. I assumed we were facing exactly the same issue.

the tech came by this afternoon and approved the upgrade.. i was capped at 4096 previously untill just at 8pm, i modem restarted.. i was capped at 1024 all a sudden.. lol.. they remotely downgrade it back to 1024 port cap? now suffering a while.. huhu.. speedtest getting only 0.5-0.6mbps

hoping that they will upgrade my account and re-cap me to about 5mb tomorrow..

Are you already in 4MB package? or you just about to apply?

Funnily, I have the same problem with the 2MB upgrade in my hometown.
I prod further while calling the TM CS and they told me the installer called another number and another person owns the line, even though the login ID is the same.

Which brings to me to the point that how hard could it be for the installer to ask for a higher cap. My 4Mb line is at 4096, and 2Mb is at 2048. I've been calling the installer twice everyday to ask him for a higher cap, he told me that he already "called KL", but my port cap is still the same. He gave me some funny local number to call and the person on the other side didn't even know what is a sync or cap  laugh.gif

Anyways, could anyone tell me how to ask for a higher cap, since the CS at 100 always confuses the line speed and the sync speed.
*
What IP range are you getting now? in order to request for higher cap, you need to call 100 and then make a report of slow connection first before they can transfer your call to level 2 department. They are the guys whom able to help your request.

*
I was having slow connection and not happy with the speed, at first they configured to 5Mb but the speed was not consistent... i call up again and ask whether they can cap it higher or not. i was lucky to spoke with one of the helpful technician in level 2.. i request for 6mb but he cap me to 8mb instead.

and i was wondering.. is there a difference between the BM and English option during the 100 call? i usually called and picked the BM language.. if i were to call and chose english, would the tech be speaking in english too? i know this sounds silly.. but maybe an english speaking operator and 2nd level tech has better common sense and knowledge bout what they are doing.. some of them which i spoke were obviously 70% lazy and lost T_T
*
Not too sure about this but when you press BM from the option, once you get to the agent... you can speak english too if you want.

I upgraded my 1MB Streamyx package to 4MB package during their promotion last month. The technician dropped by yesterday morning to check on my line capability and was told that I can receive 4MB no problem.

He asked me to wait 24 hours and then restart my modem (wait 10-15mins) for the new 4MB line to be in effect.

I did so early this morning prior to leaving for work and found that my line is still the same speed as before. I tried once again upon returning home and it was the same.

Called 100 and was eventually passed to a 2nd Level Support. Explained the situation to him and he said he would call me back. He did return my call in about 5mins and told me that they have officially activated my line to 4MB. He requested me to restart the modem immediately for 10-15mins.

I did so and sadly it was still the same. I then switched off my modem and this time waited 30mins but again it was the same. Here is the speedtest I got just 30secs ago:

user posted image

I called 100 again and they told me to get in touch directly with the technician to ask him to come over and reconfigure my settings.

This is indeed a huge pain since I would have to take another half-day off just to accommodate him yet again.

Is there anything I can do on my own? Any networking sifu can advice if I need to do any changes to my modem and router?

Thanks in advance!

I had exactly the same issue with you last time...nothing much you can do in your end but keep calling them to fix the problem for you. level 2 is the guys who handling 4Mb customers.

My Internet was down from 2.20pm yesterday afternoon until this morning. DSL can sync but not able to connect to authentication server.

Seems they "upgrade" their 100 number when called it ask that I enter my service number which returned that my internet service is down & will be fixed within 2 days luckily not the case after which I hang up didn't want to talk to cs.

I think they "upgrade" my area or something as I noticed I suddenly able to get into 218.111.22.xxx & 218.111.221.xxx range this morning, previously never able to get into either range before.

If you are 4Mb subscriber, you will get these premium IP (218.xxx).

If you want to have a real and actual download speed? Just download any files hosted in Malaysia, and take alook how fast you manage to get,
or install a bandwidth meter application.
Don't expected or depends so much on Speedtest.net result. Cheers

Any good bandwidth meter application you recommend?
