AFAIK, these refurbished fire extinguishers , which are not good enough for fire hazards anymore, are a 60/40. Just saying as I heard only 1 or 2 cases that have problems with it compared to the many without problems (yet)

@Ben, be in the hobby long enough, with a REAL planted tank out in the sunlight, let me know if you're gonna enjoy maintaining it. smile.gif An arowana tank is nothing out in the sunlight.

@adrian, it's just the gene of the cherry, and the more fiery red ones are probably female or just really red. congrats for those. The maroon one on the other hand, nothing new lor.

@cata, feel free to test his hypothesis and place your planted tank outdoors in full or partial exposure to sunlight.. Come on, i dare yah biggrin.gif haha.. Even a tank near a window with a lot of sunlight got problem already. haihz...

@yujin, just noticed, where's your fly avatar?

Here's my theory/take on those,

From what I heard from the dudes who refill the tanks... These phased out ones are ones which are not fit for a real fire situation anymore. in other words, cant containt high pressure..

Us in the hobby, we don't need that kind of pressure, so these fellas got smart. reuse these guys for the aqua hobbyists..

The risk factor is still there, the choice is yours and yours alone ( my biggest c02 tank is half my height hahaha. 6kg - industrial grade! )-always had a fear in using these refurbished tanks...

But then again, many have reported to have no problems with it ( Only time would tell )

Note those are DWARF crayfish.

They sometimes pull your plants out. Just saying.

Ask him yourself smile.gif

Since you already have a blue normal crayfish, you should well know yourself what it is capable to do in your aquarium rather than blindfiring in here...

The dwarf crayfish acts rather differently. It's like driving or cars, drive kancil and lorry same thing mou? yes both move on road, but different characteristics.

Good for you Adrian .. Do take pictures...

Ben, are you dosing co2 now?? Seems like you're getting more 'advanced ' plants. Hope you have the ability/patience/proper conditions to grow them.. Just worried you get too ambitious and crash n burn in the end

Different rcs la uncle cata...

Also, ben u know it well yourself .. Without co2 'advanced' plants .. Well here's a riddle.. It grows slow but die very fast hehehe... Only plants I would keep without co2 are anubias moss java fern or any fern.. Bolbitis.. And hornwort.. There are several more..

Most of the plants in your list needs co2 to grow well.. Otherwise they'll brown n die off

Okay can't type much sinc I'm on mobile..

Ben, I'm keeping an arowana in a species tank.. Means nothing in that 4ft but 1arowana.. Not as ambitious as you are lol...

And I believe that plant ISNOT chendol.. Guarantee you. Looks like lillaeopsis brassinellus .. Not sure if this is how it spelg though..

Using beach sand is foolhardy.. Don't bother asking me why. You probably will 'see how things go'

And ben, slow down as u hve been saying the past few tens of pages.. Slow down. Still very young.. Take your time failing/learning/experiencing..
