Brackish water is part salt water (sea water) part freshwater in case you didn't know lol.

About the algae, Amano shrimp is another choice.

Shrimps can tahan in the post over 24 hours I believe, But Must be pell packed and insulated... Cherries can breed at 28C.

@adrian, it is worth it, also you might have temperature issues using MH.. be reminded when your lighting is stronger, if kpt well, plants grow faster IF not, algae grow faster.

@fongzai, i believe you got your answer over at MAC. It's leanign towards your window being a light source.. My lights turn on at 11am-7pm and I don't get such issues lol. most people with an 'additional' light source and odd ON times get such problems.
