Damn, my cheap DW keep floating and keep leaching Tannin..
any advice to make it waterlogged and stop leaching tannin

boil it to get rid of tannin!

keep it from floating id say tie a rock to it

Already poured some hot water on the DW yesterday.
Can i add activated carbon? could not tie rock to it because the DW height is about the same with the aquarium.. it will look ugly .. hehe maybe will try to bury it in the aquasoil.

activated carbon will also suck up other nutrients.. not advisable also..

maybe u can try the shirox thing.. its for making the water clear/.. its like activted carbon..

u have to boil every day... its not only 1 time... boil till no more tanning...

bought mine at 88pets mart sunwaymas

a small box, rm6 only, inside its a mesh bag with whitesand/rocks in it..

I've managed to get my hands on the riccia and java moss.
Now the riccia is sitting in my main tank while I am setting up the one it's meant for.
Some keeps on floating up == Will set it up by tonight and post pictures if I can. biggrin.gif

Hopefully it lives!!

riccia naturally is a floating plant. tie it to wood or rock.. google for tying riccia!

if we're meeting up soon if u wan join us for gaythering i can give u mine.. bought it, used in my filter for 1week.. then chnge to canister no space to put it so not using it nimore

its actually NIROX! lolx google for picture
when i tried it, i think it worked..water became clear as crystal!

but f it doesnt work on tannin, is only 6bucks.. biggrin.gif

Can it be use for freshwater tank?
I think it have the same functionality as activated carbon, but it does not absorb fert.
