Just did a little research about this product.. not suitable for planted tank.. for normal fish tank is YES...

but i read in petsmart 88 the facebook they use in planted tank hmm hmm

Zeolites or ammonia chips works by absorbing organic ammonia. I had them in my filter before..once I remove them algae starts to bloom and the water became cloudy. It seem the tank is going into a mini cycle. It might be the zeolites is messing with my tank cycle since I had it since day 1. Again this is just my observation. Without the use of a proper test kit, I could only guess .

All I can say is, a properly cycled and mature filter doesn't need any other things..not even purigen

Any of you guys use RO water for your shrimp tank? How do you re mineralized it?
If not...what kind of water conditioner do you use? My tap water is out of whack lately...smells like burned plastic and killed all of my shrimps and a few ottos too....

Hi guys, would like to know what type of external filter u guys recommend for a medium size tank. Look through this "Rapid Mini Canister" but dunno what u guys think. Or maybe Eheim pro?
