Both soundcards perform EXACTLY the same. They use the same chipset and if you download the driver from SS website you'd notice the drivers are also the same. They just have different design to pair with the headsets.

Although the sound improvement (if any) leaves a lot to be desired for the extra cost imposed.

More than enough, I flick 1 time can cross the whole screen. Besides, my table is too small for anything bigger than normal QcK.

How much do you move to cross over your screen? 1920 pixel. I move about 4cm.

Using my high sens setting (1733 CPI), takes me less than 7cm. Not very accurate measure though since I left my Ikari Laser back at home.

CPI is Counts Per Inch.

Or what SS says, a constant and more accurate measure than DPI.

Basically the main difference when you look at them is the coating. The optical has a clear coat which makes it smooth and shiny on the light grey areas and more sweat resistant. The laser version however is that it has a dark matt coating instead. The problem is that the logo will eventually wear off after a while.

Then there is the CPI. Optical can only reach a maximum of 1600 CPI and the adjustments are fixed to 400, 800 and 1600. The laser on the other hand, has a range from 1 to 3200 CPI which can be changed by 1. To display this change, there is also a small LCD on the underside of the mouse.

The Ikari Laser also allows for user specified macros and keysettings.

The pricing between them is about RM100 different with the laser being more expensive.

Performance wise, they feel kind of the same but it's mostly up to the user. I have both and I can't decide which is better.

actually DPI sounds more like a printing section but it make sense (at least it's still related), that's why SS comfortable to use different words biggrin.gif
