Ive got 2 lines with DIGI...wanted to migrate sub-line to Maxis, but was told cannot unless :-

1) Exchange principal line to sub-line..then only can (1 seller told me)

2) Convert your sub-line to Prepaid then only migrate over...i think tongue.gif

yeah i would like to be enlighten on this.  Theether charge understood. but surfing thru BB and using BIS would i be charged?

planning to go to KLCC later on to do MNP.
*
As long as we are on BB device, going online & etc..no charges..

only if your tethering (MODEM)...then it'll be P-A-Y-U (Pay As You Use)

So no worries about surfing with BB browser or Opera Mini or etc..fb, chats..

Do enlighten me on this, so what is those pay-per-use charges if i am gonna go with digi bis plan?
*
P-A-Y-U applies when ur using Diginet via ur BB phone as a Modem link to ur lappie...TETHERING using ur BB phone will be using Diginet not BIS.

So if ur gonna use ur BB phone for tethering..then P-A-Y-U charges will apply...like how many kbps/mbs used while ur connected to ur lappie. eg; if usage is 2mb, then Digi will charge u according to ur usage..thats why its called Pay As You Use..

BIS is solely on ur BB device only! Unlimited downloads, chats (leave them online for 24/7), push mails & etc.

I think u can understand what Im trying to convey to u rclxub.gif

Eh wait, the tethering only PAYU for Digi or all telco? i am contemplating to get a Bold as i need to use the net all the time (phone and laptop). Currently on Diginet data unlimited (so far, so good. very fast connection as i'm always in 3G area - KLCC, town area). So i tether the connection to my laptop when i need to do some work.

Sigh, thought can tether, then it will be just perfect sad.gif
*
U can tether...its just that u need to PAY! Thats why DIGI's BIS is darn cheap!..of coz everything has pros & cons..either that or u could opt for a additional USB broadband from DIGI...or else u could go for other Telcos which u can tether with but end up with about the same with DIGI BIS + USB Broadband.

The good thing about DIGI is there isnt any long 12mths or 24 mths contract...just simple 3mths clause (DIGI).

Cheers!

I've just gotten a BB Bold 9000 with Digi Smart Plan on Friday. So far, it has been an excellent experience.

However, I'm facing this problem that a call rings for a few seconds and goes directly to voicemail. I've tried to set it to "Do Not Forward" under the Call Forwarding settings for both Line 1 (calls come into this line) and Line 2 but for Line 1, the settings doesn't save. It's still defaulted to forward to the voicemail.

Please advise as this problem is getting very annoying.

Thank you.

Try calling Digi @ 016-2211 800, ask them to either extend rings or cancel off your voicemail.

I just don't understand 1 thing.

I am currently using E71 with unlimited 3G (rm58). It is capped at 3gb & i can use my phone like bb (immediately receive email via nokia messaging, chat using nimbuzz etc). Apart from that, i can also use it for tetthering etc.

If i switch to blackberry device with digi bis, what is the advantage compared to my current plan?
I only see 3 advantages
- no commitment for calls
- calls at rm0.15 cents instead of rm0.20 cents
- discounts

I do not see any other advantage. Digi bb smart plan also has 3gb cap & worse thing is it cant be used as modem etc which is a waste. Messaging wise it is same with my current phone.

If i terminate my current plan & subscribe to digi bb smart plan, would that benefit me?
*
Messagin wise is way better than Nokia Email bro! I switch from E71 myself..yes, what a slack can't use it for tethering..as its under PAYU! BB is an awesome device...

Guys,
Some quick question:

1) To be safe from being charged with PAYU Services, we need to set the APN to blackberry.net (NOT diginet, digiwap or digistrm)
However, I am unable to stream youtube videos if the APN is set that way.

Are there any other way around to get youtube working without paying the PAYU Plan?

FYI, im using BB8900.

Thx guys!

Bolt browser can Youtube...runs on BIS / Wifi smile.gif

I've subscribed to Digi Smart Plan & using BB Bold 9000. My APN settings r showing T-Mobile settings.

1) How do I ensure I do not get charged for PAYU?
2) M I able to use my BB for tethering and not get charged for data plan/PAYU?
*
1) The settings basically are right.

2) Nope, as its clearly stated on the DIGI BIS T&C...thats why its RM58!

IMHO it's the same with all Telcos because they are all using the Blackberry server. Once you use any other server, you pay for it!

Added on December 28, 2009, 11:34 pm

Thx, where did you buy / download the BOLT Browser? Is freeware / shareware / payware? Did you have to meddle with the TCP/IP  or APN to get the app running?
*
Its a freeware. Just google for it. No settings required. It will configure for ya, allowing you to stream on youtube!

Just got off the phone with Digi's BB Tech Guru, he said no need to change the APN settings..it should be left blank! As DIGI BIS's configuration is running on the background + its fully automatic!

If ya wanna stream Youtube faster, then only change APN to digistream.net
