Tomorrow streamyx technician is coming for my modem fix, what should i ask him?? Any important thing to make sure??

def throttling youtube and FTP related downloads. In my case, I couldnt even see youtube's icons. Rapidshare was down to 600bytes! I called 100 complain 9 9 no use. Until today I was hitting an average of 400kbps. Until I lodged an official complain. Trust me...if u dont officially complain and just call 100. NOTHING will be done. Heres the instructions

Dont just call 100 when you have extremely slow speeds.
TMNET has just assigned you a crappy port. If you call 100, they will just reset it for you. Wont do you any good at all

Go to http://www.complaint.cfm.org.my/ fill up the form and they ll respond MANDATORY 3 days.

Oh be specific as well in your complain

a. Go to http://219.93.175.234/
b. Do a speed test
c. Capture screen and attach
d. Be specific on the time of your test
e. Do 3 to be certain

It worked for me...dont call 100 anymore. Just lodge an official complain

my streamyx getting dc so frequent lately...3 times in a week...and every time it does...very hard to connect back...sometimes call them to reset port can work...sometimes not...and the thing is..DSL light is stable...

so no choice...i had to try tohumusness' idea...let's see wat they can do now...

I'm just start using streamyx 1M package, but speed test only 80+ (1st week) than 40+ (until now). And still pending to fix it.

I check the modem and found that the downstream only 512, that's mean they miss capped my line? And will it solve immediate if the technician come to my house?

It means they have given you a 512 port. You should have at least a 1024 port for the 1Mb package. Not sure how you were getting 80KB. Maybe it was initially a 1024 port and they replaced it? They have to fix this at the exchange.

The 80KB is the initial set up which correct port given.

Thats mean if the technician come to my house also no use lor?
Can i just call them and say they given a wrong port to me?
Because it'll take more time if waiting the technician come and do the report.

The Exchange are rarely got problem, only at DSLAM, Cabinet, underground cabling and DP Box always got problem...

Call and ask them to check what is the port you have. If 1024 then maybe your Streamyx account is capped wrongly at 512. If the port is 512 then ask them how you can get 1024 as you subscribed to if the port is only 512?

i was previously capped at 1.5mbps...and at one point 2mbps...but now its back to 1mbps...after i make many complains...of getting frequent dc..all they could do is capped me lower...

btw i'm on 1mb package...
